Personally, I liked the Vegeta vs. Shadow episode, as it (like the most recent one) included a dialogue between the fighters rather than just a slew of attacks. That fight had it's own story behind it, but still came out as making a good deal of sense when they got down to the nitty gritty of things.

I'm wondering when they'll get to other franchises, like Link. My personal idea on that one would be Ezio Auditorre, but we'll see if and when they ever get to that at all. evil grin

IMO, Starscream was screwed the second he went alt-form against somepony that could control the weather. Rainbow may be damn near indestructible, but if he stuck to the ground and spammed missiles up close after hitting her with the null ray, it probably would have killed her dead. But, this is Starscream we're talking about, the guy who went toe to toe with a microwave and lost, so we probably should have saw that one coming.

I kinda want to see Batman vs The Doctor in a Technical Pacifist brawl to the death, but those fandoms probably shouldn't be mixed.

My webzone.

eh. The Doctor isn't a fighter. Intellect and Romance over Brute force and Cynicism, ya know?

And if we're going to talk about ridiculous outcomes, I'm still more than a little sore over the Wonder Woman Rogue one. The only opportunity Rogue would have to steal WW's powers is in the fraction of a second before her brain goes flying out of the back of her skull. But that's neither here nor there.

My favorite is Yoshi vs Riptor. Love the dinosaurs.

I love Haggar vs Zangief. The part where they enter a building and everything gets thrown outside.

Mine are Sonic Vs. Mario and The Newest one, among others, but I like all of them.

[up][up][up]Rogue has Ms. Marvel powers remember, so she wouldn't get taken out by one punch.

The basic science behind Rogue vs. Wonder Woman was that Rogue drains powers through skin contact and WW is showing a lot of skin, which leaves her even more vulnerable than she usually should be.

That's one of the things I like. They find one particular strategy or moveset or general ability between each combatant that would likely get paired off. When one of them ends up with a significant advantage because of it, that's what they use for the killshot.

Alternately, if one party relies on power-ups for 90% of their powers and the other doesn't, that seems to factor heavily into their decision (Re: Bomberman vs. Dig Dug & Mario vs. Sonic).

[up][up]If this was Wonder Woman vs Ms Marvel I'd say the exact same thing. Wonder Woman is in the same strength class as superman, and that's strong enough to beat Goku. An all out punch from wonder woman would break Rogue. Plus she has two weapons that can end the fight without ever engaging Rogue in hand to hand combat if need be. Wonder Woman managed to slice open Superman's jugular with her tiara and has outright beheaded people in a similar league as Rogue.

And the whole premise is based on the idea that Wonder Woman doesn't know what just about anyone in the marvel universe knows about Rogue. WW has dealt with that sort of thing before.

[up]It doesn't matter if Wonder Woman was fighting naked. Rogue would never get the oppurtunity to take the powers because she is nowhere near as fast or skilled as WW and wouldn't be able to lay a finger on her.

[up] But WW did have skin contact with Rogue. Rogue's power could work that way too.

Claiming that Wonder Woman should know what basically everyone in the Marvel universe knows about Rogue seems to be ignoring the obvious fact that she is not FROM the same universe, and thus couldn't know about it beforehand.

And if Superheroes with super strength used their maximum power against unknown opponents the first time they met them, then there'd be a lot of comics that were a lot shorter and a lot more bloody.

[up][up]hence my initial point about the only chance she would get would be in a blow that ends her.

And if Superheroes with super strength used their maximum power against unknown opponents the first time they met them, then there'd be a lot of comics that were a lot shorter and a lot more bloody.
In Superhero comics the heroes are never trying to outright kill their opponents. The exceptions tend to be street level anti-heroes. The whole point of a death battle is that they are trying to do just that.

I would submit that among most heroes, there is also the risk of colateral damage in the form of buildings, people, etc. should they land a super strike on anyone capable of withstanding it, but this back and forth is starting to build up.

Suffice to say, you have some good points and I can see where Wonder Woman could easily have won it, but I still like the way things turned out. But if we're all being honest, there's a good chance they had Rogue win so that they could use the kiss finisher. evil grin

Perhaps. As I said though it's still a sore spot for me and I try not to let it interfere with my enjoyment of the show.

So, moving on, I think that Master Chief's opponent in the next battle is Captain Titus from Space Marine, and not actually knowing anything about that game, I 'd like to see Master Chief win so we can have a Master Chief vs Samus Aran winner fight.

Personally I like him to face Gordon Freeman. I think that could be interesting.

Gordon is a scientist turned Badass Normal by virtue of surviving hell.

Master Chief is a space marine with a sniper rifle capable of headshots from 600 yards away. Unless there's a botomless pit Chief can be flung into, I fail to see how that is close to a fair match up.

Yeah, I seem to recall someone mentioning a bit of supplemental material where MC swatted away a rocket with his bare hand while outside of his super armor, so... one man with a crowbar just ain't gonna cut it. =P

I'm not sure we'd ever get a "winner" fight between MC and Samus for perhaps the same reason that they won't do Goku vs. Superman. It's been done to death and if they open those floodgates, then who knows what hell might break loose.

Then again, they did do Mario vs. Sonic... >_>

You really got to think these match ups through, I've found. I got it into my head that Samurai Jack should go up against Ezio at first, due to a surprising amount of similarities in their stories. But when you get right down to the stats, Jack doesn't wear armor while Ezio wears damn plenty. A statistic like that just flat out breaks the fight in the same way that one party having the strength/endurance to swat away a missile does.

That was why I figured that Link was a better match for the Auditorre (and that Jack would have a better chance facing Altair [lol])

I had a few Death Battle ideas and played out the scenarios:

Ichigo Kurosaki vs. Naruto Uzumaki; Winner = Naruto

Garland vs. Nightmare; Winner = Garland

Alex Mercer vs. Carnage; Winner = Alex

Sasuke Uchiha vs. Cole Mac Grath; Winner = Sasuke

[up] I'm inclined to believe that if you are going to say that one party wins over the other that you should at least give a reason why they have an advantage over the competition, but I get the feeling that would be an entirely different conversation from the one we've been having. =P

Sasuke Uchiha vs. Cole Mc Grath; Winner = Sasuke
The thing with Cole is that victory depends not only on the location, but on which Cole as well. Evil Cole who becomes the Beast can destroy anyone from Naruto fairly easily. The only way I see Sasuke winning this at all is if he's fighting Good Cole in a forest somewhere without ample supply of water Cole could try a suicide kill.

Ichigo Kurosaki vs. Naruto Uzumaki; Winner = Naruto
