Here are pictures taken using a makeshift camera—a shoebox with a pinhole and a cardboard shutter, and its inside painted black, and slow B&W film paper.  *

Raw scan of the developed and finished negatives, not digitally edited.

I altered the colors of the scan and flipped it to make impromptu digital positives.

It's not as good as the real thing, but it'll do.

The picture on the bottom had a perfect exposure of nine seconds. The picture in the middle and on the side were too long—eleven seconds. Too much light touched the film paper, so the image is too bright. The picture on the top is a ghosted image—for four seconds the model sat, for five more she left the picture entirely.

The subject is not me, but my partner for the assignment. She took pictures of me with her shoebox, but she's holding on to those pictures.

Hey, I remember doing this for our unit on light in 7th grade. Wish I still had those things...

That ghosting effect is really cool, though.

Yep, it's the first thing we're doing for our Intro to photo.
