That's both selfish and shortsighted. Just because you don't care about spoilers doesn't mean that we should merrily say "Well, screw you anyway, if you don't want to be spoiled. If the page is a mess for you, we don't really care." to the people who don't want to be spoiled and stop caring about giving them a readable page.

I'm not sure that I understand this post, but it aappears like you are completely misunderstanding me.

When I said making the page "more readable", in quotation marks, I was quoting the people who think that too much white lines make a page unreadable, and we must ban white lines on spoiler pages. (an opinion that I disagree with)

When I said, "people who already chose white lines over the spoilers", I meant that the spoiler tag can be turned off, so everyone could choose between seeing spoilers, and seeing white lines.

When we limit spoiler tags for the sake of readability, we are only pandering to the people who don't see any spoiler tags anyways, and make pages unreadable for those who would think that white lines are fine, but visible spoilers are horrible.

Therefore, we should use spoiler tags on spoiler trope pages, because the former group wouldn' even notice them, and the latter already chose white lines over visible spoilers.
