Buffistas Org actually has two grandchildren, Fetish Fuel Wiki and the new IJBM.
Indeed. Let's coo at the two newborns!
A slightly weird, kinky baby, but that's probably to be expected.
Soo...like a normal baby, or one of those Dead Space 2 swarming babies?
Because I don't like the latter ones.
All I have to say about this is: GOOD RIDDANCE.
Hands down, I have to say that the Fetish Fuel examples are ABSOLUTELY the worst part of this site. I tried to skim it once and I was just completely turned-off about the amount of people not just describing, but thoroughly detailing their kinks. It's great that people have them (or sometimes even not), but I seriously don't need to hear that about them, especially if it's at some inane series directed at kids. It really bothers me that people even want to share this stuff with a bunch of strangers in the first place.
Fetish Fuel has suffered the same problem as Memetic Mutation is still recovering from. I hope that if nothing else the new wiki will add a few restrictions to what is added. For example no Rule 36. If we were to list everything in a work that might turn someone on then we would have to start with every letter in the title, then every object in the opening scene and everything done to them. Secondly, nothing too common. The fact is that People Sit On Chairs is a fetish too.
I am a fetish friendly troper, my view is you should do what turns your partner on, but that doesn't mean anyone wants to read a dictionary that contains the fetish-relevance of every word in the ... actually, no, that would be pretty epic but you know what I mean.

Well, I just hope the article for the trope itself remains, as it, as someone already pointed out, is indeed a valid trope. A few examples are necessary, I think. At least generic ones (just mentioning inflation, eating alive and whatnot). "Troper Tales" need to go, a separate wiki sounds reasonable.
I'm not too keen on the idea of making an entire standalone site for people to randomly talk about their life stories. I say we cut out the creepier parts like Fetish Fuel and keep the rest, including the natter. This pursuit of neutrality is fair, but it's losing what makes this site so fun to the biased sucker that I am.

It is wit that makes snark work.I say give all the Troper Tales their own site. Call it Troper Tales.Org or something and have it be a sister site to this one. Pages here could link to that site's sister Troper Tales page instead of having it clutter this site with Troper life stories. That way, stuff that is potentially squicky like Fetish Fuel examples could have a page before it with a fair warning that the content therein may be squicky. Just a thought.
It's like my momma always told me: "Troping is as Troping does..."Fetish Fuel has already been moved to a new page. It's here.

1. Just the examples. We're still keeping the main page as a definition.
2. The home page link is this. That other link just goes to edits history for some reason.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. Finally got around to setting up the relay. http://fetishfuel.net will take people to the FF wiki. URL's like: http://fetishfuel.net/Harry_Potter should also work.

Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyThat's very helpful. Now all you have to do is contribute an example, and you will have fully participated in this glorious split.

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I should...add my examples. :>
Troper PageNO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM WIKIA, IT'S HORRIBLE! HAVING A WIKIA WIKI IS WORSE THAN HAVING NO WIKIS AT ALL!~ IT'S WORSE THAN THIS WIKI EING DESTROYED! GET RID OF THE WIKIA! WIKIA IS EVIL AND BUILT AROUND ADVERTISEMENTS AND FIXED-WIDTH LAYOUTS AND SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!
WIKIS ARE LEAVING WIKIA LIKE CRAZY AND FOR GOOD REASON!
TF Wiki left back in 2008 and now WO Wiki and Zelda Wiki and a billion other wikis have left too because you aren't allowed to change the wiki's appearance and they tried to make it look like My Space and it's FULL OF TERRIBLY INVASIVE ADVERTISEMENTS!

Try again, without the loads of allcaps, and without the rambling.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. All of those ads can be removed with Ad Block Plus. It's not hard to get Firefox and then get that.
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific Mackerel
Alright. Give us an alternative to it, then.
I don't find the ads that annoying. It doesn't have more than, say, tvtropes and if we ever have our own server we're going to need ads to pay for it, you know.
Even if Wikia doesn't have too many ads, I ind their site-wide sidebar rather terrible. Their picture selection box and links to other wikias on the right, I mean. That stuff squeezes the article and makes it narrow and long. This layout received some (significant, I guess) disapproval back when Wikia were introducing it. Of course, I don't really care that much right now, just pointing somethin' out.
somethingI'm sorry about the allcaps but its a serious worry. T He sidebar, as mentioned above, is extremely destructive, along with so many other issues its not even funny. Why don't we just use the server space we'll be saving by moving Fetish Fuel, by just setting up another PM Wiki site that's JUST the Fetish Fuel. The interface in PM Wiki is perfect for TV Tropes-style sites in general. Listen, having a Wikia for Fetish Fuel is worse than having no TV Tropes at all, in my opinion.
You guys should discuss such thing on that wiki, not this one. I'll go ahead and lock this off, since the move is done.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyThe discussion continues here. Remember to sign your replies with for tildes, like this ~~~~

Depending on the conditions, this could interest us. It'd be great to stop worrying about Wikia's TOS. Can you pm me a e-mail adress so we can discuss this?
@deadguy
The point is that they are deleting fetish fuel from tvtropes, and some of us didn't want to watch it go, so we moved it to a wiki. The ffwiki team has no affiliation with tvtropes.
