Okay, so, I recently found out about how Fetish Fuel is being killed in the Troper Tales purge, and it occured to me that the two needn't necessarily be related, and that we could preserve the Article Subpages by making them totally non-conversational
What I thought we could do is have it so we have a bulletpoint for every character/object of affection, double-bulletpoints for outfit changes and then, to show how strong a fandom's love for each character is relative to the others, triple bulletpoints for Signatures of Troper's who concur
So, to use Jade from Jackie Chan Adventures as an example:
- Jade
- Red Hoodie with Jeans
- Black Hoodie (Queen of the Shadowkhan)
- Shadowkhan Queen's Robes (Queen of the Shadowkhan)
If we did it like this then the only clue as to what the names and signatures mean would be the Tab Heading of Fetish Fuel, and even then it wouldn't be blatant Then someone could glaze at a subpage without getting it, but interested people could go to the Fetish Fuel mainpage for an explanation of what it actually means...
So can we do this and not just delete it completely? Pretty please?
Many fetish fuel entries are nothing to do with clothes. This is the Internet, people can and will get off on all sorts. Just look at how long the Sonic page is.
Three people isn't representative of an entire fandom, either; they could share the views of a sizeable portion of the fandom or it could just be three people who share the same fetish.

Well, the sub-variation doesn't have to be clothes-y, it's just the format I'm trying to get across because I figured that if we organised the page so that no-one is explicitly saying they want to fuck children (or whatever), the whole Google-Censorship-Advert-Radar-Thingy wouldn't be an issue

Oh, and the signature thing I think is important because it allows people to agree without them using words & sentences (which would bring us right back to my previous post)

And another thing is that it would compress pages, in that we'd get a list of names instead of -
- I want to fuck Sonic
- Me too
- Yeah, me too
- Oh, SO MUCH!!!
To reply in order:
That....makes very little sense. And wouldn't really take the issue away. And would take one hell of a lot of work; just try to list off every single thing you find attractive about one character, without saying why you like something. Now multiply that by infinity. Yeah.
No, it really doesn't. Because this is the internet and people are all mad here, so our Over Lords must be even crazier. Even if we are just saying Jade's outfit presses a few buttons, we're still saying this about an under-age character.
What about people who want to be Anon. with their kinks? And doesn't the History or whatever the link is say who edited a page anyway?
No, then we'd just have....
- I want to fuck Sonic!
- Nameyname
- Another Name
- And One More Name
Besides, we're moving everything to the Fetish Fuel wikia ((there's a link to it on either page 4 or page 5)), where people can add and edit freely ((or, as freely as guidelines allow)) so it's a bit of a moot point by now... (>_>)

...K. :(
//Gives jelly baby//
You can come play on the Wikia though, it's nice there.

You do have a point, though. The general idea of cleaning up the examples so they make no references to the character being underaged (but over 14) was good. We just have to find a way to do it. Right now we're discussing that topic here
As Hushabyebye said, you're more than welcome to join us at the wiki.
We're getting a "To Do" List that stretches from here to Tatooine. And back.
When are the subpages going to be cut? They've been locked for several days now.
Probably a useless voice at this stage...but why don't we link our Fetish Fuel examples to the alternate site? I've got to say I enjoy the Fetish Fuel pages; from an author's standpoint, it's really nice to know what other people are liking\not liking in certain works. Not to mention that it's kind of fun to toss around what you do\don't like about a particular show. Other people are probably going to want the same thing. By linking the site, it means no one has to see it who doesn't want to.
What Pink Ranger said, except that I'm not an author.

If we are making a new wiki, can a copy of Power Perversion Potential also come along?
I'd like to keep all the 'squicky' content on a seperate wiki just to have it around. (Some enjoy it. By being seperate from TVT, TVT can concentrate on not being offensive, but the content is ther for those who want to see it. (If it's a major website draw, keep it around for ad revenue. Ads who dislike FF/PPP example pages don't get linked there thanks to Google.)
But.. is it a separate website, a 'series of pages unliked to TVT', or being on the same webspace?
Who will run the FF/PPP wiki?
I seriously don't even know what site would be willing to accept FF/PPP troper tales pages.
@Mopeyennui - They're starting a wiki up on Wikia
Moved this thread to SE, like it says in the headline.
Welcome To TV Tropes | How To Write An Example | Text-Formatting Rules | List Of Shows That Need Summary | TV Tropes Forum | Know The StaffIf you took a copy no one would or could complain, but it has a curator and the crowner result was under the decreed margin for cutting.

I didn't miss obscene. It isn't specifically mentioned, as obscene can mean practically anything. I agree that the BDSM Wikia is a good sign though. They'll likely be a bigger target if prudish people start freaking out.
Is there any problem with getting fanfiction.net to point there? I note that Eddie still has it pointing to tvtropes.org. I was a bit worried that Wikia might want all of their sites to have their name in the URL. A pure redirect shouldn't matter, but you never know.

Everyone Has An Important Job To DoJust throwing it out there, if anyone is interested in using mediawiki for it (or any other type of open-source wiki software), I tend to host a bunch of sites and have a generous enough plan already to handle it (ad-free etc..).
That way the To S stuff with wikia can be avoided and there'd be no risk of shutdown.
Of course, if the wikia solution is working then great. I'm sad to see the page go, but I get why it's being done.
(idiotically I forgot the password to my old troper handle hence the brand new one)
I wonder if this second site will eventually morph into "TV Tropes for people who don't like the rules of TV Tropes", and used as a receptacle for other things that get deleted from TV Tropes, like the members of the Permanent Red Link Club.
We're forgetting an important question:
How do we tell Buffistas that this * is their granddaughter?

The new It Just Bugs Me!That's an idea, let's dump all the ymmvs and non-tropes on the fetish fuel wiki and call it a day.
I don't really get the point. So there's still a fetish fuel page, it still has all the same examples, it's still open to the public, but it's not hosted here for some reason? It seems sort of silly.
No, the examples will be cut once the pages are moved. Only references in works to Fetish Fuel directly will be examples.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.
If we do as....someone said earlier somewhere, and change the name, would that make it easier to exist? Maybe just make it a subtitle to the name like "yadda-yadda-yadda: the Fetish Fuel Wiki"?
Also, how much effort goes into grabbing up a website of our own? And doesn't Google own half the internet anyway? And...yeah...
