Now that's different. A redirect exists because the different names are useful. That's why my tech solution would work. Just replace it with a non link that is still styled differently than the text.
Heck, you could do it manually, if people would agree to it.
Everyone Has An Important Job To DoI agree that these are annoying and if I see any that aren't the exceptions already listed, I will kill them with fire. I think this was one of the first things I asked about when I originally came here, but it's still happening.
Another problem is with a show such as Word Girl where the show title is a Wiki Word. I had to go through that entire article a while back and kill all the circular links to WordGirl. My guess is that more have probably cropped up since I last did it.
I don't suppose there would be any way to create a filter so that this simply wouldn't be possible? I think on Wikia if you try to link an article to itself, it won't work. It won't appear as a link.

“I just think that's really shady." "Shady?!" - Stephanie & Chad, The Amazing Race 17On Media Wiki circular links get bolded instead of made into a link.
BTW, I'm a chick. We can just do that manually.
Regulated fun - the best kind! I don't make the rules, just enforce them with an iron fist.Found one that really bothers me:
It lists specific subtropes. Two of them are tropes. The other five are redirects to the same page (because they're Internal Subtropes).
Would it be okay if I just kill the wikilinks on the latter five?

BTW, I'm a chick.
Today's most recent example was The Un-Twist linking to Null Subversion:
That is, instead of a Double Subversion, it's a Null Subversion.
I was thinking Null Subversion would be a supertrope perhaps, but no, it's the same page.
