Maybe as an edit page tip? That feature wasn't updated for quite a long time.
That would actually be a good place for it.
The only thing I really think needs to be strongly suggested is "Don't Pot Hole work titles."

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickThat's more or less the moral I had in mind.
The child is father to the man —OedipusA belated addition to this discussion:
I think the idea of leading with the show is a good idea for basic example formatting, but with character tropes I strongly prefer putting the character name first. I think that "Alice and Bob in You Know That Show" is stylistically better than "You Know That Show Alice and Bob," but some editors have been going around methodically changing the former to the latter. (If I were to use the latter format, I would at least put a colon after the show title.)

^^ The moral is that we are not trying to establish some absolutely graven-in-stone must-be-followed-regardless-of-circumstance style sheet. and that we have different tastes in how we like lists to read.
If you look at what all the mods posting here are agreeing on, it's "the name of the work should be very close to the beginning of the first line", "the Author's name should be included for books", and "don't hide the work name in a pothole unless it's not really germane to the example".
