Sucker Punch is more or less Alice In Wonderland. . . With guns and katanas.
My name is Cu Chulainn. Beside the raging sea I am left to moan. Sorrow I am, for I brought down my only son.I knew that much.
However, as I said, there seem to be three different views on it: The first is that it's shitty fanboy-bait, full-stop. The second is that it's a clever deconstruction of shitty fanboy-bait. And the last is that it tried to be a deconstruction of fanboy-bait, failed miserably at being clever, and ended up being shitty anyway.
At any rate, I'm definitely curious about it. And the fact that opinions are so divided on it makes me all the more so.
I'm going with the second one. There's a few blatant You Bastard! moments on the subject, and overall the fantasy sequences give off a very deconstructive vibe.

For 3.5, humans and changelings. Always wanted to play a thri-kreen, but there's never been much of a psionic following in my circle. My favorite character I've played is for a gestalt evil-alignment campaign— a changeling rogue/psion, with a personality loosely based on Mr. Pink.
Dramaturg, troper, theatre reviewer. (Please hire me.)My favorites are Humans because they can be realted to the most but need to beware of mary suedom especially amongst new players plus they are verastile. Also the Githzerai because of their background of making cites out of will and their concept.
Either goblins, kobolds or Pathfinder changelings.

Humans, Eberron Changelings and Starfinder Androids(Still counts as D&D?) in general. Plus specific race/class/prestige class combos.

Dwarves. I like how they're so tough and serious. And alcoholic.
