I'm having fun with the mindless mindless yaoi that is Teahouse. It also doesn't update too terribly often, but more often than Starfighter (which, as others have said, is wonderful).
Seconding The Meek. The art, the colors, the story... everything about it is just fantastic. And the second chapter twists my heartstrings into knots.
Read the first few chapters of Digger a long, long time ago, at least a couple years. But that was when it required subscription and I was poor and in college. It's free now, so I have no excuse and neither does anyone else. Ms. Vernon's a treasure.
Pearls Before Swine isn't a webcomic, but since you can read it online...close enough. it's just all kinds of weird wonderful. I'll never fail to get a kick out of the very bad puns and the incredibly stupid plots the crocodiles come up with to eet da zeeba neighba.

i. hear. a. sound. While I like Boys' Love as much as the next guy, I have... problems with Starfighter. (Except the art, which is indeed pretty great.) I could expand on it, but this is a recommendations thread, not a "flaming comics you don't like" one.
Seconding (or whatever number we're up to now) the recommendation of Order Of The Stick, which is probably my favourite of the comics I'm currently reading.
Girl Genius is epic. I could do with less cartoony faces, and the plot gets insanely complex, but it's still an excellent read.
Lackadaisy is beautiful, though it's already being pimped enough in the "Webcomics with the best art" thread.
Digger needs more love.
Gastro Phobia. It has the feel of a Franco-Belgian historical comedy comic, with mouth-wateringly attractive Retraux art and tons of inventive ideas.
And I'll definitely be checking out some of the recommendations in this thread.
No, it's OK. If you have legit crit that might be able to put a demographic label on it, you can say it.
Read my stories! It's mostly just my two cents, anyway, but Starfighter has all the traits that make people hate yaoi. Entrenched uke/seme roles (you'd think that writers could at least make a same-sex relationship equal!), pretty-pretty characters, and oodles of sex and fanservice, in case we were labouring under the misconception that this was meant to be a serious drama rather than just masturbation fodder.
And does this space station have no sexual harassment regulations? What's Abel's excuse for not getting Cain sent to the brig first time the latter hits on him?
Yes, I know there's tons of worse stuff out there, and the sex isn't as indiscreet as it could be, but I would have preferred if it tried to be more than just a porno.

Odd, I thought that one of its benefits was the start of chapter 2, where we actually see these roles delved into.
Read my stories!Ah, that would explain it. I stopped reading while Cain and Abel were having sex.
Hence my original assessment of Starfighter.
Read my stories!Never trusting Cakman again.
Likes many underrated webcomics...you...you didn't...did you?
Read my stories!Nah. Still got my common sense. And, you know, not going anywhere near a yaoi comic.
Likes many underrated webcomics@Dundee998- I don't have a lot to offer (although I must add that yes, Digger needs more love), but I am a little curious- what about Schlock Mercenary did you hate? I've been a fan for a while now, and it is consistently very quotable, and typically offers at least one joke per week that hits my funnybone solidly enough to make me laugh out loud.
That being said, if what turned you off was 'the art'... yeah. The early art was pretty bad. "Execrable" might not be overstating things >.O That being said, it does get better- a lot better- as time goes on. Anyways, no worries either way, was just kind of curious- it's a fun Space Opera romp that I've enjoyed for years now.
It was boring, and the main character was a heap of wise-cracking slime. But since you recommended it, I think I'll give it another try. I think I was seventeen when I first found it, so it's been a couple of years. With a mature age, maybe I'll appreciate it more.
Schlock- the aforementioned wisecracking slime- winds up as kind of a secondary character a lot of the time, so if you're not so fond of him, you might wind up still being alright .
As far as reading the strip goes... starting here might not be a bad idea; at least in my opinion, that's where the plot actually gets going- the earliest stuff suffers from being a bit unfocused, and, well, early. Of course, alternatively, you could just start from the start- it's only a few months before where I posted; just accept that yeah, it's early stuff and it's not that great (although there are still a few bits that made me grin).
As to 'boring'... yeah, that doesn't last.
Hey guys, have you ever heard of Penny Arcade? It's this great webcomic I found the other day, mostly related to gaming!
I'm a bundle of knowledge! If you need anything, folks, just ask!MURDER THE INFIDEL. In other news, I am in fact enjoying Schlock Mercenary, although I have a deep-seated hatred for the way he draws women, especially since I know that as time goes on, it's just going to get even WORSE.
Huh. Glad you're enjoying it, but now I'm curious. What exactly is it about the way he draws women you don't like? He even makes fun of himself for the 'boobs out to here' bit every once in a while, but beyond that...
Hopefully it doesn't detract from things too much for you- Howard Tayler clearly loves Space Opera and Science Fiction in all its forms, and once Schlock hits its stride, it remains surprisingly hard SF- I love the gravity-based weapons and all the various toys that the mercs get to play with, from personal weapons all the way up to the wonderfully nasty tricks they get up to with... well, you'll see *evilgrin*
I hate the way he draws females because they look like wasps. Really and truly. They are about as attractive as hive-making insects.
Right now Teddy has formed the Fleetmind, and Schlock has just found out that Stevyn cloned himself in time.
Mmph... yeh, fair point on the wasp-waistedness thing. I do rather like Petey as a character, but he's also the source of what I'd consider one of the biggest weaknesses of the strip- Howard is clearly reluctant to put him on the cosmic bus, but he's such a Story Breaker that the cartoonist isn't sure what to do with him a lot of the time. Ah well- enjoy the ride, it's good, old-fashioned space opera fun.

Holyshit guys, I just found and binged. It's a fast binge, but a fantastic one. If you like Order of the Stick and Superheros and excellent comics with terrible stick-figure art. The gap between the writing quality and the art quality is an absolute crime, but read it anyway! I'm going to go make it into its own thread.
Is there a way to fix the halfyness of it?
Read my stories!Halfyness? If you mean the crappy format where you need to sidescroll, not that I know of, but he stops doing pages like that pretty fast.
Recommending The Fancy Adventures Of Jack Cannon
The art in the beginning isn't so great (it does improve though) and the updates are slow (twice a week) but the story is fun and Gavin might be one of the more interesting villains I've read in a while. The story takes a bit to get started, and a couple of the fight scenes do make Cannon look like a sue, but then the hackers get competent...
The premise is rather silly to anyone remotely familiar with how actual programming works, but remains a fun read. Also, the hero tends not to have things go his way or win every fight as the comic goes on, and that makes things a bit more interesting.
Yes, I know I might be a little bit biased (I do have Gavin as my avatar...) but it is quite a good read and doesn't take much to binge.

Isn't realist just a word a cynic calls himself?I already have a thread on this forum for it, if any wants to see.
Its looks like it could take a turn for the interesting.
Dude, you're kinda missing the point of a reccomendation thread.
