A small number next to watchlist to list updates

I think it would be great if, next to the "watchlist" button on the page, there was a small, non-distracting number (the same font and size as the "watchlist" text maybe so it doesn't stick out), indicating the number of articles on your watchlist that have updated since the last time you check it.

Just think it might help for some, especially those who have a small number of items on their watchlist (which is the opposite of me actually!). Not a huge deal, but might save time for those who click "watchlist" often. It might also help those who haven't checked their watchlist eventually realize "wow, 43 articles I'm watching updated! I need to check this before it gets too big!" or something.
