Ah, a well-done Silmarillion adaptation could be wonderful, I do think!
Give me Ungoliant, and Melkor, and Glaurung! Give me Faenor and his sons! And yes, give me Beren and Luthien! Show me the lamps, and the great fire of their fall! Show me the trees, and their poisoning and devouring! And show me their light persisting in the skies to light the world even beyond the Third Age! ^_^

The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Speaking of Andy Serkis and the Silmarillion, I’m about to start the audiobook he narrated of said work. I very much enjoyed his Hobbit and LOTR, and I expect this will be excellent too, even if it doesn’t give any opportunity to use his Gollum voice.
Teaser for season 2 of Rings of Power:
...huh.
Thought it was over.

Since the first season ended I said I would have to see where it goes next before I decide if I like it or not.
The soundtrack is worth downloading. A bit bombastic, but nice in places.
I.. have no idea what the muddy, tendril-y thing is supposed to be.
A cousin of the Watcher in the Water?
Man, that's a high price tag. At least the model looks pretty solid.
Optimism is a duty.I pretty much said this in the Rings of Power thread, but I am loving what I see in the teaser, and am very excited for the new season! ^_^
In particular, I'm greatly enthused that it seems that we will after all be getting Annatar! ^_^
As to Worm Boy, I don't know who or what they are, but they look cool, so I'm game. ^_^
My Games & WritingSauron is definitely more fruitful grounds for an expansion story than Gollum. For one, Sauron actually has a backstory worth more than three paragraphs.
Optimism is a duty.I'd guess that the Gollum movie will focus primarily on Aragorn and Gandalf, rather than on Gollum himself, for what it's worth.
My Games & WritingStackable for those with more money than they know what to do with.
Optimism is a duty.you've posted that
New theme music also a boxOops, haha, my bad.

Well, the actual point is milking this cow for all she's worth, but yeah.
Optimism is a duty.I would imagine that they'll just recast, perhaps—but not necessarily—with actors who resemble those two.
Will some balk at a change in actor? Perhaps, indeed.
But I doubt that the general audience will. (And I know that it doesn't bother me.)
My Games & WritingThe adventures of young(er) Aragorn sounds fun, but I'd much rather see his time as Thorongil than the Gollum hunt.
Found this on a YouTube short.
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.
Though in the movies at least we only really see them stoned in the aftermath of Isengard being overrun by the Ents. They raided Saruman's own personal stash too.
...While failing to realize at the time what it means that Saruman has barrels of Longbottom Leaf from the Shire.
Disgusted, but not surprisedIsn't pipeweed just supposed to be fantasy-tobacco, anyway? Despite how fun it is to imagine Gandalf et al. as pot-smoking stoners, IIRC, Tolkien really didn't like the hippies who latched onto his books, but included pipeweed as Author Appeal because he himself loved smoking tobacco from his pipe.
It's the movie that really goes all in on the idea that pipeweed is fantasy mary jane. Seriously, Merry and Pippin are hotboxing in the extended scene with Saruman's storeroom.

Disgusted, but not surprisedIt's not entirely unjustified. Even in the books, Hobbits really like their pipeweed. I think Tolkien just described smoker's withdrawal, basically. Tobacco is just as addictive as weed, after all.

Alas, the Silmarillion and all its parts are off-limits barring a major change of heart by the Tolkien estate. And I certainly understand their perspective. But oh, a properly done trilogy of the Great Tales would be *chef’s kiss*
