No, not that kind.

So where is your user picture from? Care to share what pics you use on other forums? (I know we used to have a thread about this, but it seems it was lost in The Great Crash.)

My current avatar, and all my previous avatars, are from Gunnerkrigg Court. So it's probably safe to assume that all my future avatars will be from there as well.

Congratulations . It was on this website that I had my first 100th post anywhere.

Anyway... My avatar is a drawing of a character from a comic I've never gotten around to that sort of doubles as a self-portrait because the character is a shameless AuthorAvatar (pun not intended, but interesting). And just for the record, I am actually a girl, although that's probably somewhat obvious from my user name...

I've never had any confusion about Meta, just Faw. Hmm. As for janitor, I just assumed janitor's a guy in lieu of evidence to the contrary.

Thanks. This'd be the third forum I've gotten 100 posts on, out of four forums I've ever signed up to. On one of the other forums I've got at least 1500 posts, the first thousand of which were gotten within less than four months.

Hmmm...

If the search engine is to be believed, I have... 18,128 posts at the first forum I frequented. Accumulated over the course of 6 years. That puts me several thousands before the one with the second-most posts at those forums. Oh, and I stopped actually being "active" like two years ago. And at the Smash World Forums, I already have more than 4000 posts after a year, and the most anyone has in that forum is just above 10,000... And both forums have been around for years before I came there. So... yeah.

In Janitor's case, based on bio info she's posted, I assumed her avatar was a picture of her.

I don't even try to guess genders in most online settings I'm in. Gotten zapped too many times, and it usually doesn't make that big a difference to the conversation.

Yeah, but then you eventually get caught with the wrong pronoun. . .

Anyways, I've got this tendency on forums I really like to blow everyone else's postcounts out of the water over time, which leads to me often being the guy to discover the poster titles awarded for extremely high postcounts (funny things, like "STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER" and "I can't remember the sun", appear under my name). For instance, on one forum I'm currently on I've got the most posts of anyone except the guy who made the game the forum's based on (because he has to give a ruling on every suggestion thread), and on another several people remained ahead of me but I was the biggest poster not to get a custom title and still got to discover them (at one point the mods and their twisted sense of humor set the guy right in front of me's custom title to his current title right before he gained a star, so we wouldn't see the new one). This forum hasn't existed long enough to differentiate us much, though.

edit: However, 18,000 posts? That's a bit extreme even for me.

The top poster at the forums I have 1500 on has around ten times as much as me.

One friend of mine on the forum (where I had the 23,000 posts) has accumulated over 40,000 posts in even less time as I. In, 4, 3 years, not exactly sure.

Then again, it's a pretty fast-paced forum for a large community (but nothing ridiculous, like Gaia, where someone has, seriousl some half a million posts consisting only of "bump").

Ansom, the game-breaking archer from the DS strategy-RPG Rondo of Swords. He is made of awesome.

My previous avatar, and my current one on some other forums, is Raven from Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword.

To me, it's the hairstyle. And I actually thought your avatar was female too, I assumed the "goatee" was because it was furry. I appear to have been in the minority on that, but then again I thought Ruthie was a rather sensitive man to begin with. ... Don't give me that look. It could have been short for "Rutherford", as in easily-forgotten nineteenth century American president Rutherford B. Hayes.

I try too hard sometimes. Anyway, my first avatar here was from Mega Man Zero, a game I've never played. I just liked the swirly thing. Second one was from Breath Of Fire 2, and I used it 'cause I figured it went better with the "Cthulhuesque" title I'd come up with. My current one is a minor character, Monsier D'Arque, from Disney's Beauty and the Beast, who was voiced by the late great Tony Jay. My fourth one will be a form of tesselated fractal capable of driving men mad. Now if only I could find a blind graphics designer to make it...

I should've made my contributor page more ambiguous as to my gender.

Regarding postcount, here's mine:

Bob And George forum: ~1,500 posts over about four years. Nothing special, considering that some people there have post-counts in the tens of thousands. I did get the moderator-endowed custom sub-title "Metool Deconstructionist" because of a funny animated gif I made once (don't have it anymore), and because I was sort of friends with one of the mods at the time.

Truth And Beauty Bombs forum: ~3,000, over two years. Again, nothing special, considering the ridiculous postcounts some guys had. Also, I got a custom mod-endowed subtitle because I asked Ryan North for one really sneakily.

Starflyer 59 forum: ~300 posts, which is about the 4th-highest postcount on the whole forum. (The highest is ~600 - 800.) Also, I'm an admin.

Gunnerkrigg Court forum: ~600 posts, which is the 3rd-highest postcount. Somehow, I have more posts than the author of the comic does. Sheesh.

Honestly, every time I read your name, I think "Brickman! He's made of...brick!" Kinda like how Meltman was introduced in Action League NOW! So instead of thinking of you as a girl, I thought of you as a sort of lame superhero.

I've had three avatars. The first was a matrix of random numbers set in a way that the number in each box was the distance from another box to be "walked" until all of the boxes had been crossed., starting from wathever point.

The second one was a Zuthulu, from an issue of The Perry Bible Fellowship. I chose him because he shared my love of Brownies.

My current avatar is actually a drawing made in microsoft paint, using an obscure font type (Webdings or something), that was rotated and inverted several times. It doesn't look so much like me, but it reminds me of a banner in a hairdresser I've seen when I was young, and I thought it was cool because my hair is pretty long right now.

All three avatars were made with low-quality and rushed MS Paint alterations. This is a testimony to my sloth, and a constant reminder of how I'll never be able to create a webcomic.

Yeah, so I just switched to Othar. It wasn't quite the pose I was looking for, but it's pretty good, and the funny part of that random mad scientist (the shirt) couldn't fit anyways. Fear my further non-gender-ambiguity!
