Last thread vanished with the crash...

So, the Weasel Queen interlude is over. Is this Storm King opera another one?

I'm betting it's just a lead-in to reintroducing Tarvek.

I'm also happy to be getting some backstory on the Storm King, seeing as Strinbeck and Oublemach's "flanking maneuver" for legitimacy had something to do with his Empire.

(I mentioned in the old thread that I didn't like the Weasel Queen interlude. I'd like to record here that the last few pages, with Othar and Ferretina, were really good, so I think it's just the Fashion Clank that I didn't like.)

I kinda liked that clank, though admittingly it did seem like mostly an excuse to print paper dolls of the characters.

Say, off the top of your head, do you remember where in the archives I can find the first appearance of that time window? It was during a meeting of the Baron and Du Pree, I'm pretty sure... EDIT: Aqui esta! (linky) Is that Zeetha or a Geister?

Actually, this was the first appearance of the window. NO idea what's going on there.

I can't tell for sure, but I think that's a Geister on the page you linked.

Oh wow. Completely forgot about that!

Way things are looking, it'll likely be a while yet before we see the other end, though.

WMG: The portal to Mars in that one Heterodyne story looked like a time window, right? Maybe it was based off of reports by other poor unsuspecting civilians. Who knows who built/played around with the time machine?

Seems the opera was backstory and nothing more. Pity.

But we're back to Agatha now, and that's definitely a good thing. Poor Agatha just doesn't catch a break, does she?

Indeed. This looks like it'll play out interestingly.

I didn't make that connection until you pointed it out. Even though I knew that Agatha would run into him sooner or later.

This will be interesting.

I can't seem to recall who this would be. Who is he again?

Moloch von Zinzer. Klaus thought he was a Spark (and that Agatha was his girlfriend). Last time we saw him, he was being sent to Castle Heterodyne, but we know he can't die because we saw him in this flash forward.

Hoo boy. Agatha's cover may very well be blown.

Prediction: []Moloch and Wilhelm will become Agatha's first two minions inside the castle.[[/folder]]

Agatha is not the pushover from six months ago, and Moloch looks worse for wear, so I don't doubt they'll come to some understanding.

I like W Ilhelm, but I'm worried that she'll be a mook or a psycho.

It almost seems like he's scared of Agatha. Does he know or suspect that she's a Spark?

He knows. He was detained and taken to Castle Wulfenbach (a big ol' airship the size of a city) because they suspected that he was the Spark who'd accidentally unleashed a clank on Transylvania, and Agatha was taken along with him because they thought she was his girlfriend and he'd cooperate better with her around for companionship. It's been a while since I've read the older stuff, but by the time he got shipped off to Castle Heterodyne for punishment detail he'd seen Agatha get up to a number of impressively dangerous things.

Well the friday update's out. Looks like he wasn't scared of Agatha, he was just scared of doing something stupid in front of that Wilhelm girl. Aww, Twoo Wuv...

Of course, now he's scared of Agatha

Hmm... think that poison'll show up soon as a Chekhov's Gun?

Tough call. Moloch was given some poison (and strongly encouraged to use it as soon as possible) the last time we saw him, and Agatha did just make a quip about poison, but I dunno. The bit where Gil gave Moloch the poison just before Moloch was shipped out struck me mainly as a way of reinforcing the idea of Castle Heterodyne duty as a Fate Worse than Death. And Agatha's quip about poisoning a bunch of people who didn't like her cooking is such a painfully cliched prison trope (the new inmate defusing the tension and showing they've got a sense of humour by claiming to be in for some ridiculously unlikely crime), that I'm figuring it's just pure coincidence.

That may be both that and foreshadowing. You can never tell with these works of fiction.

Probably a scene jump on Monday, since Moloch gasping is a good cliffhanger.
