- In Angel Down, Ward asks this of Bernard, although notably, they don't request that Bernard make a FaceāHeel Turn, rather they ask that Bernard "Be the beacon to which my shadows will drive the wicked"
- In The Inexplicable Adventures of Bob!, Molly's sister Galatea desperately wants Molly to stand by her when she takes over the world, here.
- Happens a couple of times throughout The Order of the Stick: Nale to Elan early in the story and Tsukiko to Belkar later.
- Notably averted with General Tarquin, who is delighted to be reunited with his son, but is fine with Elan being a hero and looks forward to being defeated by him later at the end of his career because that will make for such an epic story.
- In Demonology 101, Lethe extends this offer to Raven, which she unsurprisingly turns down. Lethe's superiors are less than pleased by his use of this.Lethe: My lady...
Madeline: "We shall rule"?
Lethe: You can't blame me for trying. - Bob and George: Mynd's offer.
- In Dubious Company, General Izor makes this offer to Sal. Notable in that it does not foreshadow that someone is about to die, or the gloves are off. In fact, the offer was a genuine desire to bring Kreedor's iron reign to an end and foreshadows Izor and his elites (involuntarily) teaming up with the pirates. She accepts.
- More than once in Precocious.
- Di-Va (Dionne) tries to recruit Jacob in this strip and this strip (both are rife with Double Entendre).
- Bud to Colleen here.
- The Head Alien to Sal and Walky in It's Walky!. The rerun commentary notes that the odds really aren't on the villain's side here.
- Consolers: After bootlegging his games, the yakuza boss offers to make Namco the most powerful company in the industry if they work together. Namco refuses.
- While King Radical doesn't exactly offer the titular character of The Adventures of Dr. McNinja a ruling position, he does consider the Doc sufficiently cool to not be wiped out like the Muggles in his world and be replaced by the denizens of the Radical Lands and gets increasingly frustrated that the Doc still keeps thwarting his plans to make the world more awesome.King Radical: You belong in my world. Stop fighting it.
- Angel Moxie: Tsutsumu proposes this to the girls.
- In Sam & Fuzzy, Mr. Black and Mr. Blank are childhood friends who went through the same Tyke-Bomb program, but when Sam murders the heads of the Ninja Mafia they draw the exact opposite conclusions on what needs to be done about it. Black gives Blank an open offer for a place at his side, while Blank mostly tries to ignore Black even exists (because if he ever acknowledged Black as a threat to his own ambitions he'd have to murder him). When Blank is finally put in a position where he can't ignore Black as a threat, he murders him in cold blood.
