Livestream: Escape From Hotel Izanami is a Survival Horror Adventure Game by Qureate and Orgesta Inc.

Located in the N Prefecture of Japan, in the city of Tokaezuka, is the remains of Hotel Izanami, a leisure hotel located across from Tokaezuka Fantasy Land. The two businesses enjoyed a healthy relationship, and much success, until other large-scale theme parks started being built, taking business away from Tokaezuka Fantasy Land, and the hotel. Unable to handle the stress, the owner forced his daughter to join him in a double suicide, and the hotel was closed down and slated for demolition.

However, the demolition contractors who entered were all met with some misfortune or other. Traffic accidents, mysterious harassers, inexplicable mental illnesses, so the hotel still stands today. One theory is that the ghost of the owner still haunts the building, cursing all who trespass on the property, and then killing them... or so they say. Maybe he's the rumoured "ghost who appears in the room on the third floor".

Anyway, Nana Sakurai of the livestream internet show Nana Channel, along with her crew Mio Ikoma and Azusa Shiraishi, have come to Hotel Izanami to investigate the rumours. They plan to start on the third floor where the ghost is said to appear. However, what was intended to be a night wandering around some old building soon becomes a nightmare, as the girls find that there ARE things to fear in the hotel.

The game was released on April 15th, 2021.

Livestream: Escape From Hotel Izanami contains examples of:

  • Abandoned Area: The Hotel Izanami is a crumbling abandoned ruin in Tokaezuka city, Japan. There's rumours in the neighbourhood that the premises are haunted by the ghost of the former hotel owner.
  • Apocalyptic Log: These appear in the form of "memos" that you can find around the hotel.
  • Dark World: The hotel seems to serve as a gateway to one of these, as implied by several events over the course of the game (such as Nana's friend saying that she never saw the three girls arrive at the hotel and a news report in one of the bad endings saying the girls were last seen before they went to the hotel, despite it seeming that they escaped and were able to make it home).
  • Drowning Pit: Mio finds Azusa locked in a bathroom on the second floor of the hotel. It starts filling with water, and Mio has to help Azusa find a way to drain the room so the door will open up.
  • Game Over: Red "Game Over" letters appear over a black screen when you get one of these.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Nana Sakurai has a pair of pigtails in her hair.
  • Help, I'm Stuck!: Two puzzles in the game involve one of the girls getting stuck under something heavy, with potentially fatal consequences if you can't figure out how to get them free in time.
    • Early in the game, Nana is trapped by a heavy shelf falling on her and has to hold it up with her arms. If you can't figure out how to prop up the shelf and then move it enough for her to get loose, her strength gives out and she gets crushed.
    • Later, Azusa's foot gets pinned to the floor by a fire shutter that suddenly closes on the girls as they're passing through. If you take too long figuring out how to raise the shutter, the killer appears behind Azusa and takes advantage of her inability to run to do what they do best.
  • Infinite Flashlight: The girls' phones never seem to need recharging.
  • Lampshade Hanging: When attempting to get into the hotel office, Azusa starts grumbling about how every door in the building seems to be locked.
  • Lock and Key Puzzle: Plenty of doors in the hotel are locked, and need a key to open.
  • Logical Weakness: When Mio gets ensnared by hair on the second floor, she uses a pair of scissors to cut herself loose from them.note
  • Multiple Endings:
    • Downer Ending: Three of them. It's a horror game; what did you expect?
      • If you don't retrieve the hat of Nana's friend, she'll at one point think she sees her friend in the hallway. Nope, it's the killer and he whacks all three of them.
      • Attempting an escape through the hair barrier at the entrance results in Mio and Nana escaping while Azusa is caught. Bad enough, but then Azusa comes back afflicted by the curse to kill the other two.
      • Using the wrong item to mark a path through the underground causes Mio to get separated from the other two girls. She winds up cursed and captures the others.
    • Sudden Downer Ending: In one ending, the girls breach the barrier of hair in the basement and escape back home. It all looks good until we see the ghost kill Mio in the tub and a news report indicating all three of them have gone missing.
    • Earn Your Happy Ending: Using the correct item to mark the underground path allows all three girls to finally, properly escape the hotel and survive to see another day.
  • Notice This: If something can be interacted with, a question mark will appear above the Player Character's head, and a diamond will appear above what there is to interact with.
  • One-Hit-Point Wonder: If you get attacked by the killer, it's Game Over.
  • Party in My Pocket: You control three of the girls, but only one is onscreen at any time.
  • Save Point: Telephones serve this purpose in the game.
  • Side View: The game is usually viewed in this manner.
  • Sinister Scraping Sound: The killer drags their machete along the ground. If you hear it, it's a sign they're nearby.
  • What Are Records?: Azusa has to explain to the others what a cassette tape is when they find one hidden.
