That's how mafia works.
Mafia City is a browser and mobile game about The Mafia. The player controls a base and builds several buildings in it, to train henchmen and criminals to defend the mansion, attack police and criminals in the city, and even mansions of other players. Other buildings provide several resources and ways to upgrade the mansion's power and stats.

That's how TV Tropes works:

  • Anti Poop-Socking: The player has 100 energy in the city view and consumes it each time he fights against a criminal around the city; energy gets refilled in time. Training troops, improving buildings and researching upgrades all take time.
  • Microtransactions: They are all over the place. The screen for special quests feature both in-games and microtransactions.
  • Ms. Fanservice: The "babes" are a section of the game composed only by attractive women. The player plays games with them, have "dates" and give them gifts to improve the strength of the troops.
  • The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You: If another player attacks and defeats you, the screen will seem to be "broken", as a cell phone with a damaged case.
  • Very False Advertising: The advertising for the game has... essentially nothing to do with the game itself. It depicts it as something more like Grand Theft Auto Online, with a third-person camera and real-time interactions with other players. Mafia City itself is a base-builder.
  • You Require More Vespene Gas: The main resources are cargo, cash, weapons and steel. The premium resource is gold. Besides that, there are several resources used for specific parts of the game: roses for the babes, seeds for the farm, gems for making weaponry, etc.
