Verbal Tic / Pro Wrestling

• Virtually anybody who cuts a promo (whether it's a straight promo or an interview), especially those before the Attitude Era, will say "let me tell you something" or "I'll tell you what", or "well, you know something" several times during the segment.
• Ric Flair is almost incapable of finishing a sentence without adding at least one "Wooo!".The more passionate he gets, the more they show up.
  • To a lesser extent, Owen Hart, "Whoo!"
• Dusty Rhodes, if you wiiiiiiiiiiiill. Also 'Daddeh'.
• "Exotic" Adrian Street? Mmm, nice.
• Let me tell you something, brother, that Hulk Hogan sure uses "brother" a lot, brother!^note Although, it's not like he's the only one who does it, man / dude / jack!
  • This goes all the way back to when he was Terry Boulder, daddy!
• "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan: "Hooo!" (pronounced "hoe"), "Tough Guy!", and "U-S-A!"
• Randy "Macho Man" Savage: "OOOOOHHHHHH YYYYEEEEEAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!" He also frequently used "YEAH!" and "DIG IT!" as punctuation.
• George Steele and "YOU!"
• Mira. I don't know what you heard, mang, but Razor Ramon has no verbal tics, chico.
• The Ultimate Warrior punctuated his sentences with a sort of nasal, feral grunt, which got immortalized in his short-lived comic book as, "SKRONK!"
• "Stone Cold" Steve Austin (WHAT?) used to do this by adding "What?" (WHAT?) between every word he spoke (WHAT?) to cut off any response, (WHAT?) a habit that started during his memorable 2001 heel run (WHAT?) (when it was supposed to be rude and annoying). (WHAT?) Like most things during that run, the crowd absolutely loved it and used it (WHAT?) long after Stone Cold stopped. (WHAT?)
• Whenever a unexpected guest comes out, expect Jerry Lawler to say "WHAT?" in the most shocked tone ever.
• Scott Steiner's "HUH?!"
• Jim Ross would often say things three times! three times! three times, bah gawd!
• Whenever Chris Jericho locks in a submission he screams "ASK HIM!" Presumably he's telling the ref to ask if his opponent submits, but he's even said it when holding someone outside a match with no referees in sight.
• "WA-AHHHH" from Rey Mysterio Jr. during matches.
• Vince McMahon says "GODDAMNIT!" a lot off camera.
  • He also uses the words "quite frankly" on camera a lot.
• Well, you know, it's like, not even exclusive to wrestlers, you know? Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter always says "you know" and "well, it's like" during radio shows.
• Triple H went through a period of adding an "uh" sound to every third word he spoke.
• Theodore Long says holla, playa. Believe that.
• Ron Simmons' "DAMN!" which is pretty much the only thing he ever says.
• The Radiant Rain had a tendency to shout "Yeah", especially if she successively applied a headlock, which, considering this is wrestling we're talking about, was a whole lot!
• Sara Del Rey's "yea." which seems to be her trying not to say "hiya"
• The Notorious 187 Homicide is notorious for screaming "Brra!" on seemingly random whims, but especially when he's happy. Los Rabiosos and Los Hombres De La Calle were entire stables with this verbal tic, the former even having it on their collective wanted poster. Ivelisse Vélez does it sometimes too.
• Sheamus has a tendency to end every other sentence with "fella," fella.
• LayCool does this occasionally, saying phrases like "Flawless!" and "Real talk!" always in unison, and always after a short pause.
• Really? No mention of The Miz? Really? Really? Really?
• Does Daniel Bryan have a verbal tic? YES! YES! YES!
  • Is that his only verbal tic? NO! NO! NO!
• Bray Wyatt says no more lies, man! Luke Harper answers "yeah, yeah, yeah!"
• Zip Zap, one half of All-Star Championship Wrestling's tag team The Nightlife, is Number One. That's what we think he's trying to tell us anyway, has he randomly yells Number One! during his promos, and sometimes continually says "Number One, Number One, Number One!" till he's out of breath.
• Paul Heyman: "MY CLIENT, BROOOOCK LESNAAAR, CONQUERED THE UNDERTAKER'S STREAK AT WRESTLEMANIA!"
• WELLLLLLLLLL...we should also add Hawk of The Road Warriors / The Legion of Doom on here. UHHHHHHHH! WHAT A RUSH!
• Just a minute, punk! We shouldn't forget the Big Boss Man either, boy!
• Tito Santana did this occasionally, baby!
• On the other hand, baby, "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart did this on a regular basis.
• Woo! Woo! No mention of "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka, brudda? Woo! Woo!^note He was almost if not just as known for constantly saying "brother" as Hulk Hogan.
• WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAA!! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!! You can't have a page like this without The Bushwhackers!
• The Rockers had one, but it wasn't really as noticeable as the others, and was really only done at the end of their promos! "Yeah!" / "Woo!"
• HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!! When Fred Ottman wrestled as "Tugboat Thomas" (later just "Tugboat"), he would imitate the sound of a steam whistle while pulling his arm down. During his promos, he usually did this both right at the beginning and right at the end. HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!
• Jake "The Snake" Roberts did this too, but it was also one of the less noticeable ones, my man. Even so, brother, he did do it. "Trust me".
• Uhh, huhhuh, well, ya know... they says, a lotta people says that 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper would go on these long run-on sentences, never been pinned in fifteen years, ya know, go off on these WIIILD tangents before makin' a point, They Live! is a documentary ya know! Covered subjects were usually fighting since he was 15 years old, the rivalry with Hulk Hogan and/or Mr. T, and whatever politically-flavored opinion happened to go through his head that day.
• Sting has a tendency to say the name of the person he's talking to every fifth word he says.
• (blows whistle) ATTEN-HUT!! You WILL add Sgt. Slaughter to this list, maggot! And THAT...is an order!!
• BRO-THER LOVE, BE-SIDES HA-VING NO, IN-DOOR, VOICE, CON-STANT-LY DREW OUT AL-MOST EVERY-THING HE WAS SAY-ING!!!^note Either that, or he had everything Punctuated! For! Emphasis!.
  • On the other hand, he spoke quite normally when he was just Bruce Prichard^note i.e., before adopting his later Brother Love persona..
• Danhausen has a very unique way of ending sentences when he speakshausen.
