A Wild Troper Appeared!
Hi there, I'm Talli. I'm a nerd and geek of many things. Listing them all would probably be impossible, but to name a few, fantasy and sci-fi in general, more specifically Lord Of The Rings, Star Trek, Star Wars, and also most DC AND Marvel comics. But I'm only a complete dork for Transformers, and Pokemon. Though at the moment, Star Trek and Star Wars seem to be starting to invade my Dorkism. Also! I like to watch certain TV shows just for their cheese. :3
And apparently I'm turning into I am now a Wholigan.
I also like to draw, and so here is some shameless self advertising to my Deviant Art page.
I started the pages for Stick It, Get Fuzzy, Human Target, October Sky, Advent Rising, The Ugly Truth, Slap Shot and, though I hate to admit it... Charlie The Unicorn.
But I am quite proud to say that TV Tropes has ruined both my Vocabulary and my Life, and I've gotten three four five six! other people addicted (including my English teacher!).
Spread the love! Addict someone to TV Tropes today!
This Troper is an example of:
- Berserk Button: Usually relating to my legal name, which I am not fond of at all.
- Big Breasts Big Deal: I was indifferent/oblivious to the actual size, until an extremely awkward shopping session and not much later, an informative conversation with some male friends, where I was actually told that it was difficult to look me in the eye.
- Catchphrase: "I've done worse."/"Worse has happened."
- "This is me, doing (sarcastic jab at whatever is currently happening.)"
- Also! "Also! (strange addition to conversation)"
- Crazy-Prepared:
- Most of it happens to be office supplies, which are surprisingly hard to come across. One of the items is a chess set. It has been used on three separate occasions. Then there's the spare gear shop I run out of my hockey bag in-season. (Wearing men's cargo pants/shorts helps. On average, the pockets can fit 12 cans of soda collectively.)
- Otherwise, I spend strange amounts of time planning for events that will probably never happen, like how to deal with the break in of an angry ex, or the restaurant owner next door having a heart attack and stumbling into my shop.
- Extraverted Nerd: Or "Social Mothra", according to some friends.
- Femininity Failure: Became particularly evident when trying to learn to dance.
- Friend to Bugs
- Girls Love Stuffed Animals: I have a ...decent sized collection of bears of various types. You do not get to mess with my bears without my permission.
- Good Is Not Soft
- Honor Before Reason
- Hope Is Scary
- I Gave My Word: If you get the specific words "I promise..." out of me, you can be damn sure that I'll get it done.
- Jade-Colored Glasses
- Mistaken for Gay: Several people have been surprised to find that I'm actually not a lesbian.
- The Nicknamer: Most of my friends have at least two apiece, if not more.
- Snark Knight
- Sir Swears-a-Lot
- Sugar-and-Ice Personality
- Spoonerism: Normally more with middle letters than beginning, but still rather entertaining.
- Tomboy/Ladette: Minus the beer. As such, includes:
- Boyish Short Hair: Finally chopped off my waist length hair and never looked back
- Gamer Chick
- One of the Boys
- Tomboyish Ponytail: For years until the above haircut happened.
- Victoria's Secret Compartment: Useful for getting away with things in pocketless formal wear.
This Troper's life provides examples of:
- Alone Among the Couples: Movie nights, almost every single time.
- Big Brother Instinct: And I love my bros to bits for it.
- Better as Friends: Multiple instances. Usually ends up with Like Brother and Sister. Once ended in a Platonic Life Partner for a while.
- Complicated Possibly Requited Love: Nothing confirmed, so nothing ever happened.
- Cool Teacher: Four, so far. One was general history, one was Social Studies (History & Sociology) one was English, and one was Biology. They are responsible for my extremely efficient study habits, love of discussion, sarcastically witty essays and love of science respectively.
- The trend continues, apparently. It seems that Cool Teachers of the area are geeks, because they all teach geeky subjects, such as Computer Science, Robotics, the usual sciences and History.
- Crazy-Prepared (again): Several friends, both item and situation wise. It's become so natural it's an inside joke.
- Dating Do-Si-Do: Thankfully, I've never been directly involved. But some of my friends? Yeesh.
- Dysfunctional Family: I thought The Simpsons was a cartoon version of my life growing up. It's less accurate after the divorce/remarriage, but still holds startlingly well.
- Everyone Can See It
- I'm Going to Hell for This: So very many times. We've discussed house plans for the residences that we're practically guaranteed.
- Love at First Sight: Apparently!
- Led to a Relationship Upgrade and revealed a Fan-Preferred Couple with several Shippers On Deck.
- This somehow happened a second time. It went better than the first.
- Led to a Relationship Upgrade and revealed a Fan-Preferred Couple with several Shippers On Deck.
- Pitbull Dates Puppy: Current (possibly soon-to-be-over) relationship.
- Odd Friendship: Several of my friends and Iquestion how our relationship exists, after noticing a very glaring reason why it shouldn't. This is often given as little consideration as possible by both parties shortly after.
- As often as not involves The Heart as a friend in question.
- Noodle Incident: Several occasions. One of the better ones involves a cheeseburger CD case and a cardboard box. And a parked car.
- And more recently, six large root beers, a bunny costume, and a mocha.
- Religious Russian Roulette When I was little the only thing I ever prayed for was that my parents would stop fighting. About ten years later, they finally got divorced. And you know what? The fighting still hasn't stopped.
- Silly Rabbit, Romance Is for Kids!: Been in practice for a very long time, with various people attempting to change my view (none successful).
- Vitriolic Best Buds: Many of my more solid friendships seem to lean heavily on insult based humor and banter.
