• Canon Discontinuity: "The Lab of Doom Part 1: Trapped" was de-canonized following the cancelation of Part 2. Subverted in a way, as the events depicted are still canon, but the short itself isn't.
• Hey, It's That Sound!: A lot of sound effects from Valve Corporation games are used, including footsteps from Half-Life 2. (Olivine's turning her head is accompanied by the of a Combine Soldier's foot step.) Buttons being pressed also produce sounds from Garry's Mod.
