The story being in large part based on the
DC Universe and being written by a man who claims to actually understand the insanity that is the Wayne family tree,
gleefully embraces this trope.
- Bruce Wayne is the son of Thomas Wayne and Martha Wayne née Kane, which makes Jacob and Phillip his maternal uncles and Kate, Elizabeth and Bette his maternal cousins. Then things get complicated, because...
- His maternal aunt Adeline Kane was first married with Slade Wilson, making Deathstroke his uncle once removed with Grant and Joseph "Joey" Wilson being his cousins.
- Bruce Wayne has four adopted children: his adopted sons Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, and Tim Drake (the first three Robins), and his adopted daughter Cassandra Cain (the third Batgirl). Cassandra's biological parents are David Cain and Lady Shiva, two of the world's most infamous assassins and Bruce's former teachers. While Dick Grayson's ancestor is William Cobb, the Talon from the Court of Owls.
- Dick Grayson would later have a daughter with Koriand'r aka Starfire called Mary Grayson/Mariand'r which makes Bruce a grandfather and Dick would propose to Barbara Gordon (the first Batgirl and Oracle), which makes Dick the Son-in-Law of Jim Gordon.
- Bruce also has a number of biological children. His son Damian Wayne, the fifth Robin, is the child of Talia Al Ghul, daughter of one of Batman's greatest enemies, Ra's Al-Ghul. He's the biological father of Terry McGinnis, the fourth Batman, conceived with his former fiancee Julia Madison, and his biological daughter, Helena Wayne, the daughter of Selina Kyle.
- Him later being married to Selina Kyle, who's actually the long lost biological daughter of Carmine Falcone, makes him related to the Falcone mafia.
- He's also the godfather of Jon Kent, the son Clark Kent and Lois Lane making him tied to the Kents but also the House of El in general.
- Clark Kent has this happen both in his past and present (the House of El):
- You have the Kent Dynasty: Jonathan and Martha Kent, with two adopted half-human clones, an adopted son who is the biological child of General Zod, four half-human children conceived with Lois Lane, Superman's cousin Supergirl later Power Girl, Krypto his alien dog, being the father-in-law of Thara Ak-Var, two disowned clones, Alex Danvers, John Henry Irons/Steel with Lana Lang who's Clark's ex-girlfriend actually being his fiancee and his niece Natasha Irons/Arclight, Atlee, Strange Visitor being Honorary family members.
- He's also In-laws with Colonel Sam Lane (his Father-in-Law) and Lucy (his Sister-In-Law), while Chloe Sullivan, Clark's childhood friend, is Lois's cousin and engaged to Jimmy Olsen.
- His cousin Karen once married to Bill Starr, however didn't approve of him and decided to keep her Kryptonian nature a secret from Bill until Clark was satisfied that he could be trusted. Karen kept her word and never told Bill the truth but Bill was no idiot (despite his poor performance on his college transcripts) and would sense something was off. When he finally confronted Karen about the strange things he had seen her do when she didn’t think he was looking, Karen told one lie too many. The next day, Bill filed for divorce.
- His adopted son Conner is not just Clark's clone but also Lex Luthor being the human donor, which awkwardly makes him sorta related to Lena Luthor and he officially became engaged to his fiancée Cassie Sandsmark/Wonder Girl II, also makes Clark being tied to the Olympians and the Amazonians in general due Cassie being Zeus's demigod daughter and Diana's half-sister.
- Diana is no slouch in the department
- With her being the demigod daughter of Zeus makes her the niece of Hades, Poseidon, Hera, Demeter and Hestia. She's half-siblings with Cassie Sandsmark, Apollo, Ares, Athena, Hephaestus, and Hermes and specifically being the aunt of Jay Garrick a.k.a Godspeed, the son of Hermes and Menodora a.k.a Maravilla, the daughter of Apollo.
- And speaking about about Menodora, she was also a former lover of Vandal Savage as well the biological mother of Scandal Savage, which makes Diana and Cassie the grandaunts of Scandal.
- Diana's also being the surrogate sister of Donna Troy, Nubia and Andraste, who Hippolyta adopted as her own children and with Andraste having a daughter named Grace Choi a.k.a Macro makes Diana surrogate aunt of Grace.
- She is also related to the New Gods, specifically Apokalypse, where she was once married to Steppenwolf conceiving a daughter named Aresia Hippolyta Lowell a.k.a Fury, who's also cousins with Darkseid of all people, also making her the former nephew-in-law of her.
- She later married Steve Trevor with two children of her own called Jason and Stephanie Trevor and she's cousins-in-Law with Angel O'Day and Athena Trevor a.k.a Tough Bunny of the Doom Patrol, who's also married with Irwin Schwab aka Ambush Bug.
- Oliver Queen of all people, is a reasonable challenger for Bruce in this regard.
- With him being the maternal cousin of Sue Dibny nee Dearden/Elastic Woman who's also married with Ralph Dibny/Elastic Man and Mia Dearden who's also his cousin and ward, Walter Steele being his godfather also makes him related to Cliff Steele/Robotman of Doom Patrol, who's also Walter's nephew.
- His adopted son Roy Harper who was brother in arms with Jason Todd and was once married with Jade Nguyen a.k.a Cheshire with Lian Harper being conceived, making her Ollie's adoptive granddaughter and also connection with the Crocks/Nguyens with Jade being the half-sister of Artemis Crock aka Tigress, who's also Ollie and Dinah's adopted daughter.
- Nyssa Al Ghul being his ex-wife with Conner Hawke being his biological son, with him being cousins with Damian Wayne and being the half-brother of his Arch-Enemy Malcolm Merlyn a.k.a the Magician, who's also the father of his best friend Tommy Merlyn and his half-sister Thea Queen due to an affair with him and his mother Moira Queen.
- He's also the biological father of Emiko Queen via an affair with Mei Gulong (Shado), who's also the half-sister of Cynthia Lance, who's also Ollie's adopted niece with Thea and Sara Lance. It's also later revealed that he and Dinah have a biological daughter called Susanna "Cissie" King-Jones.
- And speaking about Artemis and Jade, their mother Paula Nguyen-Crock, is none other than the child of Edward Blake from his Asian Babymama, who was pregnant after he killed her in the "Victory in Vietnam Day", and actually survived, which ridiculously makes both Artemis and Jade the granddaughters of the Comedian, grandnieces of Lady Blackhawk (who's Eddie's twin sister) and nieces of Laurie Juspeczyk/Silk Spectre II. Which makes both Ollie and Barry indirectly tied not just the Blakes and Jupiter/Juspeczyk families, but the Crimebusters too.
- Tim Drake is a minor example as he's cousins with Dinah Lance and Sara Lance and Quentin and Laurel Lance being his uncle and aunt and Lauren Lance being his sorta cousin as is Cissie.
- The Allen/West with Barry Allen being married to Iris West with Rudy and Daniel West his brother-in-laws and Joe West his Father-in-Law, he and Iris would later conceive fraternal twin children Jessica and Bart Allen, he's also the uncle of Wally West and Max West with the former is engaged to Artemis Crock making him related to the Crocks/Nguyens and Queens due to Ollie adopted Artemis as her daughter as well.
- Through his mother Emaline "Mary" Brady West, Wally West is the great-great-nephew of the late Minuteman William Brady/Dollar Bill.
- John Constantine got this challenge up to his ass due to his misadventures much to his chagrin:
- He's in a polyamorous relationship Zatanna Zatara back when she was on her tour in the UK when he was a punk rocker. This love affair left John Constantine with a reignited interest in the occult and left Zatanna pregnant and give birth to a son named Zachary Zatara. Oh and her father is none other than the wizard Giovanni Zatara who would become the new host of the Helmet of Nabu by becoming the new Doctor Fate.
- He ends up being seduced by the demon succubus known as Rosacarnis who offers John information on Zatanna's disappearance in exchange for John agreeing to sire three children with her, later born as three Human-Demon hybrids known as Adam, Maria and Saul Constantine. After the deal is made, John learns that Rosacarnis is the daughter of his Arch-Enemy, Nergal. And what's even more confusing is that she's also the daughter of Death (yes, that Death of the Endless) making her the grandmother of the Constantine children and also makes John indirectly being tied to the Endless.
- He's spiritually married to alchemist Epiphany Graves, who's actually the daughter Lex Luthor's Amazonian bodyguard Mercy Graves, which indirectly ties John to the Amazons of Themyscira.
- John is the uncle and legal guardian of Gemma Masters and Stanley Dover Jr. after the deaths of their respective parents and the latter is on a familiar bond with a demon known as the Beast With No Name a.k.a Spot.
- Tefé Holland a.k.a Sprout being the daughter of Swamp Thing possessing John Constantine's body due to an agreement to help him to sire with his human lover Abby Arcane also possessed by Poison Ivy and having sex with her as well. Due to Constantine having the demon Nergal's blood in his veins at this time, Tefe is also part demon. She eventually became an Earth elemental like her father having all of her father's powers, but retaining a human appearance. And with Poison Ivy being her chlorological mother she's also Quarter-sisters with Hazel, Thorn and Rose Isley.
- His best friend Francis "Chas" Chandler is the Honorary Uncle of the John's children as well the godfather of Zachary and his newfound immortality has turned him into a magnet for supernatural enemies.
- Lucifer Morningstar in the sense that he was created by The Presence and Eden, is considered full brother of Michael, Uriel, Raphael, Saraquael, Gabriel and Raguel.
- He also has lots of spirit brothers and sisters, among them Empyrean, Metatron, Sandalphon, Amenadiel, Azazel, Belial, Duma, Lilith, Ran Va Daath, Remiel, Traumiel and Zauriel. Etrigan and Senael are his nephews, while Mazikeen (his wife) and Elaine Belloc are his nieces.
- He also fathered his daughter Aradia Morningstar with Diana, Roman Goddess of the Moon, making her related to the Olympian pantheon.
- The Seven Archangels are the parents of one of the Thrones; Michael is the father of Heraphon, Raphael is the father of Asmodel, Uriel is the mother of Rrall, Gabriel is the father of Imogen, Saraquael is the mother of Senael and Raguel is the father of Lladiz.
- Heraphon is the child of Hera, making them also related to the already complex Olympians. Michael is also the father of Elaine Belloc.
- Asmodel is the son of Ruby/Inanna, relating him to the very numerous lilim.
- As son of Saraquael and Shamash, Senael is the most closely related to Asmodel due to Inanna and Shamash being twins, making them both a quarter demon. Saraquael is also the mother of Suriel and Araquel, making her grandmother of Nikki Nemzer.
- Rrall is the child of Maahes of the Egyptian Gods.
- Imogen is the daughter of the Irish daimon Brig. Gabriel is also the father of Jesus and of Wally the God-Boy.
- Lladiz is the child of Chang'e from the Shen of Ancient China.
- Raguel, now under the identity of The Spectre, sired Katherine "Kate" Corrigan from the BPRD while he was possessing his host Jim Corrigan, making Kate a quarter angel.
- Saraquael and Uriel would later clone themselves and create their respective daughters, Suriel and Cammael.
- The Blake family tree is so complicated of it's own at new levels:
- They're descended from Quentin Turnbull, who was the arch enemy of Jonah Hex.
- Eddie Blake a.k.a The Comedian is the twin brother of Zinda Blake/Lady Blackhawk, which makes her the paternal aunt of Laurie Juspeczyk, the Silk Spectre II and Paula Nguyen as stated above.
- Eddie and Zinda's younger sister Mabel was married to Henry Winchester and she's the mother of John Winchester (Yes, that John Winchester), meaning that she's also the grandmother of Dean and Sam Winchester, making the siblings the great nephews of Lady Blackhawk and the Comedian and they're distantly related to Lilith Clay/Omen and Artemis Crock.
- John Blake Jr., Eddie, Zinda and Mabel's older brother, is the grandfather of Thomas Blake/Catman, Daphne Blake, Robin John Blake and Adam Blake/Captain Comet.
- Bigby Wolf's family tree is quite complex:
- He's married to Snow White and they have seven children together: Winter, Conner, Therese, Darien, Blossom, Ambrose and Ghost Wolf.
- Snow White is the sworn comrade of the Seven Dwarves, who all have an Honorary Uncle sort of relationship with the Cubs.
- Bigby is the son of Boreas the North Wind and Lilith the Mother of Monsters. He's got three full-brothers (Greyheart, Snapjaw and Longtooth) and sisters (Lumi, Kesa, Syksy and Keva).
- Boreas/Santa Claus has been married two times, first to Oerithyia, with whom he fathered the Argonauts Kalais and Zetes, plus Khione, Greek goddess of snow. With his second wife Skadi, he's the father of the Norse gods Freyr and Freyja, making them Bigby's half-siblings.
- Under the name Borr, Boreas fathered Odin, Vili and Vé with Bestla, making Bigby the uncle of Thor, Baldr, Hodr and adoptive uncle of Loki, Tyr and Heimdall.
- Through his mother Lilith, he's half-siblings with Ruby, Mazikeen, Spot/Beast with No Name and who knows how many other lilim.
- Lilith's children with Loki under the name Angrboda are Jörmungandr, Fenrir and Hel. Meanwhile, her children with Typhon under the name Echidna are Cerberus, Orthrus, the Nemean lion, the Lernean Hydra and the Chimera.
- Lumi the Snow Queen is the mother of Jack Frost, who was fathered by Jack Horner. Horner himself is the bastard son of Prince Charming and grandson of King Cole.
- Vindemia Faye's family is rather complex too.
- Vindemia is the mother of Tom Horn/Boy Blue and Pinocchio, who were fathered by Victor Frankenstein/Geppetto.
- Vindemia has been unable to give birth to daughters due to the curse of her enemy Carabosse, but she has three goddaughters; Cinderella, Briar Rose and Rapunzel.
- Rapunzel is the mother of Hansel and Gretel, fathered by the late Prince Darling, making them the surrogate grandchildren of the Blue Fairy and surrogate niece and nephew of Boy Blue, Pinocchio, Cinderella and Briar.
- Briar Rose and Cinderella were both married to Prince Charming, making them former daughters in-law of King Cole.
- Then there's Mother Gothel, who not only is the goddaughter of Carabosse, she's also the witch that kidnapped Rapunzel, tried to sacrifice Hansel, and who became the step-mother of Cinderella.
- Speaking of Carabosse, her family tree is also rather complex.
- She is the godmother and coven mother of Mother Gothel, Tsaritsa the Queen of Fables and Lumi the Snow Queen.
- With the former warlock turned demon Crowley, she's the mother of the moth demon Charaxes.
- Tsaritsa is the stepmother of Snow White and Rose Red.
- The Walker-Aimes family has gotten truly tangled.
- Unity Kincaid was for a time married to Desire of the Endless, giving birth to the twins Rose and Drury Walker, which makes them niece and nephew of the six other Endless and cousins of their numerous children.
- Unity then remarried to Lazlo Valentin/Professor Pyg, siring a second son, Janosz Valentin/Johnny Valentine. Unity is also first cousins with Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin.
- Drury Walker married three times, first to Candy Walker; mother of Kitten Walker, second to Anna Walker; mother of Jack Walker, and third to Donna Walker; mother of Melanie Walker.
- The revelation that Anna Walker is actually the demon Ruby makes her son Jack the nephew of the God Shamash and grandson of the God Sin and of Lilith, Mother of Monsters. This also makes Jack nephew of Bigby Wolf, Lumi, Mazikeen, Spot and who knows how many others.
- Rose Walker was married to Charlie Parker/Golden Eagle, and now she's in a relationship with Angie Aimes.
- Angie is the guardian of Ellie MacKay, making her sort of Rose's stepdaughter.
- Things get complicated with the arrival of Ivy Walker, Rose and Angie's daughter from a different Sub-Reality, and of Axel Walker, a Trickster God that became the son of Rose Walker through The Void.
- Ellie, who is a descendant of the Prince of Hell Senael, has recently found herself pregnant with the child of Leon Meager/the angel Empyrean, and even more importantly, Ellie's child is the reincarnation of The Presence/God, conceived out of two Divine fragments left by Him.
- Then there's Flag the Imp, who's Ellie's sidekick and sort of protector, and Perry H. Demon, a Parademon who is Rose Walker's partner and the godfather of Axel Walker.
- Will Gorski is the son of Unity's late sister Clarity "Claire" Kincaid-Gorski, making him the cousin of Unity's children, cousin once removed of their children. And Will is the clustermate of Riley Blue, Nomi Marks, Sun Bak, Kala Dandekar, Capheus Onyango, Wolfgang Bogdanow and Lito Rodriguez, relating them to the Aimes-Walker-Kincaid family.
- The Atlantis Royal Family is pretty extensive:
- Queen Lorelei ta'Atlan married Nuidis Honsu, eldest son of the daimon Nuada Silverhand, older brother of Nuidis Vulko. From this union they had two daughters, Atlanna and Atlena.
- Atlanna succeeded her mother and married three times. Her first husband was Lord Trevis, who was unexpectedly killed by Lemurian insurgents. During her mourning journey she met, fell in love and married Tom Curry, with whom they had a son, Arthur Curry, who would be given the Atlantean name Orin. Atlanna was forced back to Atlantis, where she married Orvax Marius, with whom she had Orm Marius/Ocean Master.
- Orvax cheated on Atlanna with the Amazon Andraste, fathering a daughter, Tula zin'Marius, before Andraste killed Orvax for his abusive behavior towards Atlanna.
- Atlanna would arrange for her son Arthur/Orin to marry her handmaiden Mera ta'Xebel, and they have two children Ar'Jeron "A.J." Curry and Andrina Curry. Atlanna also arranged for her son Orm to marry the half-metahuman Deborah Perkins/Deep Blue, daughter of the metahuman Miya Shimada and the Lemurian Neptune Perkins.
- While the marriage of Orm and Debbie didn't result in children, he did father Koryak.
- Arthur took in as squire and later sidekick Garth ta'Idyll, who would date Tula zin'Marius before they broke up and he ended up marrying the amnesiac metahuman Dolphin, having a son, Cerdian ta'Idyll.
- The Gupta-Desai family:
- Daribha Gupta and Ashok Desai had three children, Priya, Rani and Rasi Gupta. Ashok would then abandon his family in order to marry Cressida Kipling, with whom he would have one daughter, Arani Desai/Celsius.
- Cressida was the sister of Willoughby Kipling, Maura Leahy née Kipling and Lillian Kipling-O'Grady, making Arani the cousin of Eileen Leahy.
- Arani would marry Niles Caulder, founder of the Doom Patrol and they would adopt a daughter, Dorothy Spinner.
- Priya Gupta would marry Sanyam Dandekar, with whom they would have two daughters Kala and Daya Dandekar.
- Kala would become the Clustermate of Will Gorski, Riley Blue, Nomi Marks, Lito Rodriguez, Capheus Onyango, Bak Sun-hee and Wolfgang Bogdanow.
- Rasi Gupta would marry Divya Patel, with whom they would have one child before their untimely deaths, Chandi Gupta/Maya.
- Finally, Rani Gupta would marry Vijay Singh and have one child, Kiran Singh/Solstice.
