The various authors of the Infinity Train: Blossomverse aren't afraid to take a few pot-shots.

The Main Trilogy

Infinity Train: Blossoming Trail

  • When bringing up the Double Standard moment from episode 11, the author remarks that she thought "Japan was free from sexism in Pokémon".
  • The author's notes for Chapter 7 brings up how Chloe has obtained little to no screen time (when the chapter was written, episode 38 had aired; her next focus episode would come 11 episodes later) and compared her to the exposure that Romin Kirishima has become a formidable female duelist "than most of the girls from Arc-V ever were".
  • In Chapter 10, she points out how unfair it is that Goh became a shut-in and stopped making friends because of Tokio while completely ignoring his Childhood Friend Chloe.
"It’s like boys need to only be friends with boys and not girls. What a great lesson for the kids to learn, writers!"
  • In the same chapter, she bashes Episodes 26 and 41 of Journeysnote  by stating that they could've been used to give Chloe some screentime and focus before stating how long it took the anime to even show Professor Cerise caring for his daughter.note
  • One author note in Chapter 11 reveals that Chloe wants to get into Silent Hill but is having trouble finding "good quality copies" which is a jab at the Silent Hill HD Collection being of lower quality than the original Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3.
  • Chapter 12 starts with a humongous rant about a few topics: Goh's character, Gladion being mostly at fault for his sister's problems — namely that he knew what happened to his sister but never brought it up sooner — and it was useless for Lana to capture her Eevee in the first place (saying that it got a "stupid haircut").
  • In Chapter 16, Serena notes that it's better to take the high road instead of Parker going to Goh and bashing him over the head with a softball bat. Parker retorts that the same tactic was used by some Ledyba hero and it hasn't boded well for her, referencing the...controversial writing in Season 3.
  • The author notes for Chapter 17 criticize how Chloe was a Damsel in Distress not once, not twice, but three times in Episode 50.
  • The Ledyba Hero's show gets a few snarky thoughts and quips. While it is said that Chloe likes a lot about the show, it and other shows where romantic subplots go on too long and tangle up everything in the show's plot are things she can't stand and much prefers an in-universe Fix Fic where the 'love whatever shape it is' is greatly reduced in prominence.
  • The author notes for Chapter 21 states that the Nightmare Sequence was partially inspired by how the authors are annoyed with Goh being a Spotlight-Stealing Squad.
  • In Arc 3, there's a news announcement over hunters that were killed trying to hunt Suicune, referencing the controversial episode where Goh catches Suicune with little to no effort.

Infinity Train: Knight of the Orange Lily

  • When the author describes that Specter was picked up between the end of Season 2 and the beginning of Season 3 in VRAINS, she adds that no one was going to care since he "barely does anything important" which is a jab at how, despite being a prominent member of the Knight of Hanoi, he's Demoted to Extra in the 3rd season — due to his seiyuu being unavailable at the time — and gets easily worked by Ai.
  • Chapter 10 has the author note that she dislikes those who immediately put a pair of leather pants on Grace because for all of the things Grace did in Book 3, she's the reason why the Apex was created in the first place which is why the author had Grace kill Utahoshi without a shred of sympathy and doing it for Tokio's "protection" to remind everyone that Grace Monroe was still a monster and sheds no tears over what she did.

Infinity Train: Voyage of Wisteria

  • The author notes for "The Clay Car" states that she wants all three stories — this one, Blossoming Trail and Knight of the Orange Lily to be connected, not like the Mummy trilogy that has two Egyptian-based films and then the third one is Chinese for no particular reason.
  • One of Ogami's victims was Leo Akaba who was despised for the atrocities he went through and the fact that he got away without a single punishment. The author even notes this is pre-Academia Leo.

Spin-Offs

Infinity Train: Crown of Thorns

  • Chapter 4 of Akuma Numerology has a jab at the Michael Bay Transformers movies, with Juleka claiming she and Rose watched them to Demolisher.
  • Chapter 7 of Crown of Thorns has the Arc-V resident die being Shingo/Sylvio Sawatari.

Infinity Train: Melancholy Afterlife

  • Once again, Green Phantom Queen points out how she detests the writers' neglect of Chloe, this time tackling why she doesn't get as many focus episodes in Season 1 and her father not caring to actually pay attention to her or the Informed Attribute that is Chloe working with her father when she's never shown to go with Ash and Goh on a research expedition until Episode 50. She also points out how unfair and broken Goh's capturing skills are as he nearly gets every single one of his mons with just a simple ball toss, how aggravating it is that Chloe's only flaw is that she "is no longer into Pokémon", stating that Ash and Goh would only like her if she's just like them and also how Chloe didn't go to Alola with Ash and Goh.

Infinity Train: Seeker of Crocus

  • One video has Chloe in a car based on PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale and her opponent is a Polygon version of Reboot Dante. She incinerates him with a flamethrower.
  • During the Alola call, Mallow tells Lana that they never speak of that time Ash dressed up as a Passimian. This is due to it being skipped over in the dub for the...unflattering racial undertones.note
  • When talking to Ash in the Act 2 Prelude, Chloe takes a jab at how Pyramid Head makes too many cameos in Silent Hill spin offs and hates how Vincent (Cooper) ended up as the love interest to Sharon de Silva in Silent Hill Revelation 3D.
  • In the Harvest Moon Car, the co-author notes that one of its inspirations was Little Hope before pointing out that the events in the car are real, a jab at how many fans were pissed off about the twist being that the events were all just illusions from a schizophrenic bus driver.
  • Upon bringing up Ash looking in horror of Rainbow Rocket Giovanni having a Mega Mewtwo, Oscar is quick to ask Ash if he forgot about the Genesect Thing (where there's a Mewtwo who can mega evolve into Mega Mewtwo Y) before muttering everyone wants to forget the Genesect thing.
  • The Horrorland Car states that Team Rocket's Morpeko was shipped to Rocket HQ due to how it's heavily disliked by the fanbase for being an asshole glutton who gives the main trio nothing but grief.
  • Ai tells Lampetia that her quest to locate a beach that's in her memories and the tale of a man and his shadow traversing it has an ending that's just as nauseating as the one from The Little Match Girl.

Infinity Train: Wake Me Up

  • Chryssa pretty much mocks Puella Magi Danika Magica from the stupid outfits to the over-the-top violence, a common complaint about the Magical Girl Genre Deconstruction.
  • Chloe's remark about her mistake regarding making her "Specter of the Dark Forest" OC the hero of her story, and how she tends to put him in every story she writes, is a thinly-vailed one regarding how often Specter tends to appear in Blossomverse stories and be portrayed as a hero.
  • During the prologue to the second arc, while talking about Sara, Akemi tries to make an argument that someone with that reputation must've earned it and that there's no way people would slander her without reason, causing Goh to look at the side. This Is a jab at how Goh was often called out by other characters regarding his role in his and Chloe's strained friendship, without either hearing his side of the story or assuming there was more to it than what they were told.
