  • Brian Enonote  is fond of wordplay and anagrams:
    • "King's Lead Hat" is an anagram of Talking Heads.
    • Before and After Science is probably an anagram for "Arcane Benefits of Creed," though there are other theories.
    • On Passengers (Eno and U2) album Original Soundtracks 1, some of the movie descriptions are attributed to "Ben O'Rian."
  • Jazz pianist Bill Evans frequently titled songs with anagrams of the names of people in his life. For example, "Re: Person I Knew" in honor of his producer Orrin Keepnews.
  • The Doors' song "L.A. Woman" has repeated occurrences of the phrases "Mr. Mojo risin'" — an anagram of Jim Morrison.
  • The band New End Original was a short-lived side project of onelinedrawing, which was Jonah Matranga.
  • Damon Albarn has made guest appearances on Elastica albums under the pseudonyms Dan Abnormal and Norman Balda. "Dan Abnormal" was also the name of a song from Blur's 1995 album The Great Escape. Also, the mock opening credits of Blur's 1997 video M.O.R. list anagram names for other band members: aside from "Dan Abnormal", there's "Morgan C. Hoax" (Graham Coxon), "Lee Jaxsam" (Alex James) and "Trevor Dewane" (Dave Rowntree).
  • LoudBomb is the electronic side-project of Bob Mould.
  • The band John Squire formed after The Stone Roses was called The Seahorses. While he claimed it was just a coincidence, it was often pointed out that this was an anagram for "he hates roses", as well as "the rose ashes". Squire actually got sick enough of this speculation that he officially dropped the "the" from the band name, just so "he hates roses" would no longer work as an anagram.
  • Axl Rose took his birth surname (William Bruce Rose Jr.) and the name of his band AXL, but at times it's claimed the name is an anagram of "oral sex".
  • Menomena's debut album is called I Am The Fun Blame Monster!. It's an anagram of "The First Menomena Album".
  • Mike Doughty's album Haughty Melodic is an anagram for "Michael Doughty".
  • Missing Persons' album title Spring Session M is an anagram for the name of the band itself.
  • Aphex Twin is also rather fond of this, particularly the titles of songs from ...I Care Because You Do, "Wax The Nip" = Aphex Twin, "The Waxen Pith," "Wet Tip Hen Ax," "Next Heap With" = The Aphex Twin, "Acrid Avid Jam Shred" = Richard David James, and "Cow Cud Is A Twin" = Caustic Window.
  • Another case of an album being named for an anagram of the artist's name: Imogen Heap's I Megaphone.
  • All of the track names of Kid 606's Songs About Fucking Steve Albini are anagrams of "Miguel De Pedro", who is Kid 606. For example, "Lou Reed Gimped" or "Odd Ripe Legume"
  • Minus Story's album My Ion Tuss, an anagram for the band name itself.
  • "Knights of Cydonia" by Muse is an anagram of "Fancy Kid Shooting". This doesn't seem meaningful until one watches the song's music video...
  • The album Sour by Ours.
  • Kajagoogoo vocalist Limahl was born Chris Hamill.
  • Paul McCartney: While it's unclear whether it's intentional, Memory Almost Full can be rearranged to spell "For My Soulmate LLM" (Linda McCartney full married name was Linda Louise McCartney).
  • Morrissey used to have SEMISORRY written on his band's drum kit.
  • Imagine Dragons apparently has one in their band name, but the members make a point of never revealing what the original phrase is.
    • However they later included a backwards message stating "There is no anagram." leading people to believe that there was none in the first place.
  • "Cut Here" by The Cure is titled as an anagram of the band's name.
  • Interpol's album El Pintor: It's both an anagram for the band and Gratuitous Spanish for "the painter".
  • Verdena's "Loniterp" is an anagram of Interpol, the band that inspired the song.
  • MF DOOM released an album titled MM...FOOD.
  • American musician Rena Jones created a few songs for the DanceDanceRevolution series as "Jenna Rose", starting in DanceDanceRevolution X. This game also featured a few songs composed by "neuras", an anagram of Shuhei Naruse's last name.
  • Once per Episode in Dan Bull's Rap Roasts video series, he makes anagrams of phrases and names with Scrabble. His roast of KSI even has a whole verse made with nothing but anagrams of "The Nightmare".
  • Ashley Frangipane (better known as Halsey) got her stage name this way; "Halsey" is an anagram of "Ashley".
  • Soundgarden once made a surprise concert under the anagram Nude Dragons, a name reused a few years after Chris Cornell's death.
  • The name of the painting featured in the The Caretaker album "Everywhere, an empty bliss" is "pm, why bees are very silent", an anagram of the album's name. The name was made up by the curator of an art exhibit of the same name as the album, which the album itself was made to promote.
  • the lineup of Duet Emmo consisted of Graham Lewis and Bruce Gilbert, of the group Dome, and Daniel Miller, who was head of the record label Mute at the time - their name is an anagram of "Dome" and "Mute".
  • IkutaMachine (or Ikuta Mashin) was a duo who composed music for a variety of Japanese artists, including AKB48. After the duo split in 2014, former member Yuji Takiage started composing under the alias Kushita Mine.
