Fem myror är fler än fyra elefanter (English: Five ants are more than four elephants), commonly abbreviated as Fem myror (Five ants) is a Swedish pedagogic children's series that first aired in 1973. The series does share some similarities with Sesame Street but uses three human characters (played by Magnus Härenstam, Brasse Brännström and Eva Remaeus) and a few animated sequences instead of a wide cast of humans and puppets. The series has subsequently become a classic in Sweden.

The series contain examples of the following tropes:

  • All Just a Dream: Played for Laughs and overlapping with Gainax Ending In-Universe in the "Mollobrachus" sketch where Magnus tries to find out a good ending to his story with help from Eva and Brasse, but he ultimately decides to end the story with the protagonist waking up, realizing that he was dreaming.
  • Audience Surrogate: Brasse is usually the character who has the most difficulties with numbers and letters, making it easy for the viewers to relate to him and follow his progress.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Magnus can be this at times, especially towards Brasse.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Used in one sketch in the "6" episode where Brasse participates in a Quiz program based around things that rhymes with "6" (Six is pronounced as sex in Swedish), but he constantly loses attention to Eva, the program's host.
  • Nice, Mean, and In-Between: The main characters have this dynamic, with the naive and playful Brasse (nice), prickly and snarky Magnus (mean) and the composed and reasonable Eva (inbetween).
  • Police Are Useless: Parodied in one sketch where Brasse acts as a police investigating the theft of a "8"-formed statuette.
  • Series Mascot: The two pink elephants (a bigger one with a bowler hat, and a smaller one with a propeller beanie) found in many of the animated segments, are also featured on most covers and merchandise regarding the series.
  • Straight Man: Magnus. Or at least, he claims to be. Eva can be argued to be a better example.
  • Women Are Wiser: Eva is by far the most rational and collected person on the show.
