Sequel Episode / Garfield and Friends

Go To

Garfield and Friends had several episodes that served as continuations to previous episodes, both in the Garfield segments and the U.S. Acres segments.

  • "Double Oh Orson", which had Orson pretend that he's a secret agent, had Double Oh Orson return for more adventures in "Cornfinger" (where he tries to figure out who has stolen the missing corn) and "Sly Spy Guy" (where he imagines one more adventure due to having trouble finding his spy novel).
  • "Robodie II" continues "Robodie" by having Dr. Garbanzo Bean return to continue trying to make robot dogs modeled after Odie.
  • "Barn of Fear" was given a sequel episode in "Barn of Fear II", which had Orson's brothers again try to scare Orson and friends by pretending to be ghosts, only for their plan to be again thwarted by the ghosts of the farm animals' ancestors.
  • "Hogcules II" was a continuation of "Hogcules" where Orson resumed pretending that he's a muscle-bound hero in Ancient Greece.
  • "Binky Gets Cancelled Again", a continuation of "Binky Gets Cancelled" where Binky the Clown once again ends up out of work when the plug is pulled on his show and Garfield has to help Binky get his show renewed once more. It's notable for being the first appearance of the Buddy Bears, who would show up to cause problems for the cast with their The Complainer Is Always Wrong ideals several more times.
  • Garfield's girlfriend Penelope, introduced in "The Perils of Penelope", would return in a major role for the subsequent episodes "The Second Penelope Episode", "The Garfield Musical", "The Third Penelope Episode" and "The Guy of Her Dreams".
  • "The Kitten and the Council" is a follow-up to "The Kitty Council", where the Kitty Council who put Garfield on trial for behavior they saw as unfitting for a cat return to put Nermal on trial for being too cute.
  • "The Incredibly Stupid Swamp Monster", where a dim-witted robot created by a mad scientist named Dr. Karloffis Boar ended up covered in swamp sludge before encountering Orson and friends, was given a sequel in "Return of the Incredibly Stupid Swamp Monster", where Dr. Boar tried to reclaim his creation after it had befriended the U.S. Acres gang.
  • "Another Ant Episode" had the singing ants from "The Picnic Panic" return to cause more trouble for Garfield, Jon and Odie.
  • "The Fairy Dogmother" was given a follow-up in "Dogmother 2", which had Esmeralda return to grant wishes for Garfield, Jon and Odie.
  • An interesting case is found with the Garfield segment "The Feline Philosopher", which had the story continue in the U.S. Acres segment "The Farmyard Feline Philosopher" and had the feline philosopher impart his wisdom to Orson and friends rather than Garfield.
