Tabletop Games

  • Magic: The Gathering: The Grave Bramble card, a plant which has Protection from Zombies, was intended as a homage to the game according to Mark Rosewater. Designer George Fan would also create a card for the 2015 Magic core set, which would take the form of Genesis Hydra, a plant hydra.

Video Games

  • Arknights: One of the stages in Side Story "Dossoles Holiday" (in particular, DH-EX-4), has the same stage layout as the pool levels from the first game.
  • Battlefield 4: A statue of a peashooter can be found.
  • Mass Effect: Andromeda: Toys of a peashooter and zombie scientist can be found on a bed.
  • Not Dying Today have quarterback zombies lifted directly from this game, right up to their charging attack. Note that both games shares the same cartoony animation despite being zombie-themed.
  • Plague Inc.: One of the newsletters reads "Crazy Dave convicted for Garden Centre robbery"
  • Rakuen: A singing Sunflower appears as one of the members of the band NO HOLDS BARD!!! She reappears in Mr. Saitou and is fittingly voiced by Laura Shigihara, who is also the developer of both games.
  • Sim Series:
    • Peashooters are available in The Sims 3: Supernatural. While sunflowers can be bought from the online store as a premium object.
    • Zombies from Plants VS Zombies appear in the "Airships Set" DLC of SimCity (2013).
  • World of Warcraft: "Plants VS Ghouls" is a quest based on Plants VS Zombies where the player has to protect Brazie the botanist's farm from the ghouls, using plants as weapons. The sunflower also makes an official appearance.
