Comic Books- The cover of Adventure Comics #247, portraying the original Legion trio behind a desk with name tags judging Superboy as unworthy of their "super-hero club" gets homaged frequently in other comics:
- The cover of Superman #147 revisits the theme with the Legion characters replaced by their evil counterparts.
- The cover of The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #29 painted by Alex Ross features the same characters as the original but in a more realistic style with more dramatic lighting.
- The cover of Simpsons Comics #68 has the classic set up, poses and props with Homer being rejected by other Simpsons characters all dressed as superheroes.
- The cover of Dark Horse Presents #115 has odd characters dressed somewhat like the Legion trio rejecting Dr. Spin's application to their superhero club.
- The cover of Soulsearchers and Company #59 is set up in the classic way, referencing tryouts.
- The cover of Image Comics's Sidekick Summer Special #1 has the iconic setup plus added pointing hands with everyone cruelly laughing at the rejected applicant.
- The cover of the unpublished Necessary Evil #10 sees two applicants being turned away from a villain school for not being evil enough.
- A page of Ambush Bug: Year None #4 is a humorous reference to the iconic image.
- The cover of Edison Rex #15 is an homage to the cover of The Legion of Super-Heroes #294 where the legion is kneeling before Darkseid's giant head with their arms raised.
- Paperinik New Adventures: In the Continuity Reboot, PK is a member of the Galaxy Guardians, a team of superheroes with a member representing each planet. Sound familiar?.
- In the Marvel Universe, the original lineup of the superpowered Imperial Guard surrounding the Shi'ar empress Lilandra was composed of alternate company equivalents of DC's Legion of Super-Heroes.
- Which actually makes the aforementioned Gladiator a copy of Superboy.
- Lampshade Hanging in an issue of Guardians of the Galaxy: Rocket Raccoon sarcastically calls Mentor, the Imperial Guard's green-skinned ubergenius, "Brainiac".
- Dave Cockrum created Nightcrawler for an unused Legion spin-off, then carried the character along to Marvel.
- Marvel has their own space related superhero team with ties to the present: the original Guardians of the Galaxy which first appeared eleven years after the Legion. Both teams are vastly different but share the same concept as well as "modern" versions of said teams: the modern Guardians and L.E.G.I.O.N. (DC Comics).

- Ben 10: Alien Force: Upchuck, the Extreme Omnivore alien, is a Gourmand from the planet Peptos. Matter-Eater Lad, the Legion of Super-Heroes member with the same power, comes from the planet Bismoll.
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003): In an early Mikey's fantasies of the Turtles as superheroes get mocked as "the Ninja-stice League", "the Shelltastic Four", and "the Legion of Sewer-Heroes".
