- Awkward Zombie:
- Ridley has only appeared once, but the sheer hilarity of the punchline has made him hard to forget (and popular in fan edits):
- By now, he's actually a Two Scene Wonder, due to appearing in one of her hourly comics, but for the longest time, Katie's Dad was this due to his...rather unusual method of finding out where emergency vehicles get gasoline. And by unusual it's really he crashes his car just to ask the policeman that shows up 'where do you get gas?'.
- Bob and George has Random, a Ran recolor. He is introduced and killed off (in the same way that Ran frequently is) in the span of two strips, except unlike Ran, his death sticks.
- El Goonish Shive:
- Felix appeared in only 4 strips starting here and a filler comic but is beloved by fans as a rare Transgender Cat Girl in the comic.
- Prior to becoming a major supporting character, Rhoda wearing her old look was this having been considered a separate unnamed character with only one appearance (evidently this actually was the case and Dan combined her with Rhoda as a Composite Character in a retcon).
- From Misfile: Doris. Especially memorable as the three characters who are not Doris are all ANGELS. The one who explicitly admits to being scared of her, and that Doris has far worse in store for the girl (Lucifer's niece), is an Angel of Vengeance.
- Weak Hero:
- Toby Kim is a minor character in the Ganghak arc who ends up being screwed by Jared when he's forced to serve him alcohol at his father's store. This ends up with the store being suspended (Jared reported them For the Evulz), and his father sick in bed with worry. This makes it immensely satisfying when Toby exposes Jared's crimes online and beats the shit out of him when Jared confronts him about it. There's no better way for a Hate Sink to go down than by the hands of one of the hapless kids he bullied.Toby: My dad is sick at home. I have nothing to fear and nothing to lose. You should have kept my family out of this, you bastard!!
- Ms. Lee is a teacher that only has a sparse appearance in Gray's backstory, but not only does she actively support Gray and Stephen when the rest of the school are against them, she's also one of the only positively portrayed adults in the series, causing her to leave a warm impression on fans.
