Mood Whiplash / Fan Works

Go To

  • Always Visible: Intentionally used as an homage to "Jacob's Ladder" in the scene where Galbraith encounters three arguing Afro-Americans, followed by a hallucination that nearly leads to the inspector's death.
  • The Bugger Anthology: "The Clash at Dalekdome" has an extended sequence of the New Paradigm Daleks singing a Metric song. It suddenly ends when the music cuts out and said Daleks exterminate their predecessors.
  • Dæmorphing: Jake's section in the first chapter of Destroyer of Worlds begins with him having a serious conversation with his parents about what happened to Tom, and ends with him feeling embarrassed about his sexuality.
  • Gankona, Unnachgiebig, Unità: The author changes from light to dark mood and back and forth many times throughout the story.
  • The Turning Red fic The Great Red Panda Rescue, starts out with the 4*Townies coming up with their next scheme to get concert tickets. The first chapter ends with Mei being kidnapped... and it only gets darker from there.
  • Grow Young With Me: Chapter 18. A happy family outing to a "last hurrah" Quidditch game for Ginny is cut short when a combination of a Bludger impact and a crash leaves Ginny with mortal injuries. She never regains consciousness, the children are traumatised, and Harry's world is shattered.
  • The King Nobody Wanted:
    • The High Septon goes from reciting a fire-and-brimstone speech calling on the king to repent to gushing over Balerion (the cat).
    • Janos Slynt's ritual initiation as a Master of the Guildhall hits a speedbump when one of the established Masters gets stuck in the process of his dramatic unmask, to the others' vocal annoyance.
Janos: If it helps, I'm still rather impressed by all this.
Tommen Brightflowers: [sighs] It helps some.
  • Limpet AU: "Meet the Skywalkers" have a chapter where Piett and Vader share a heartfelt moment of friendship, only for them to start bickering when they realize that Piett had let their shuttle veer off-course into an asteroid belt during the heartfelt moment.
  • My Choices: Twisted Tales Through Time: Chapter 6 mainly consists of feel-good moments about Trixie's first Hearth's Warming with Twilight's family. Then, at the end of the chapter, she receives Nightmare Moon's helmet from the original timeline.
  • The Parselmouth of Gryffindor: Chapter 50 mostly sees the heartwarming, somewhat sad reunion of Lily with Harry and Snape. Then at the very last moment, crashing down comes Mad-Eye Moody saying that every Death Eater in Azkaban has escaped.
  • The Lion King Adventures goes from comedy to dark horror at the drop of a hat.
  • Chapter 4 of Racer and the Geek has a particularly jarring scene where Rainbow Dash goes from making friendly conversation with Sunny to practically interrogating him and then going back as if nothing happened.
  • What About Witch Queen? has chapter Fighting the waves, arguably the darkest so far, followed by adventurous and snarky Tourists in hiding. Most of the former is Anna trying to survive a giant storm out of the boat and it ends with her cauterizing (painfully) stump of Ferdinand's hand. The latter, on the other hand, is a bit wacky, with Anna and Ferdinand trying to hide on Westerguard and utilizing cliche spy movie techniques.
  • Chapter 20 of What Lies Beyond the Walls starts off a bit somber, then delves into a lot of Fanservice, then switches over to a bunch of babes listening to a very lewd and humorous story about where babies come from. And then the chapter ends with a tribe of vermin suddenly killing off a few characters and the start of another Big Badass Battle Sequence.
  • Mood Whiplash is very much present in the Hunger Games fanficion Some Semblance of Meaning, which tends to fluctuate between humor, heartwarming, and angst, often over the course of a single chapter.
  • In Luminosity, vampires or werewolves apart from their mates grow steadily more depressed, and their mates dying can be cause for a Despair Event Horizon. Meeting up with a mate creates instant euphoria. Combining the two once took Jasper from half-mindless killer to incredibly happy, intelligent and devoted husband.
  • Chapter 43 of Hivefled consists mostly of the human gang watching terrible troll porn, complete with riffs from the boys, and then suddenly they see something which misleads them into believing they are harbouring a rapist.
  • Atlas Strongest Tournament is the culmination of a fusion of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic with Classical Mythology, plus enough plotting and counter-plotting to make Light Yagami salivate. It also has a Comedy tag. Whiplash occurs a lot therein, especially involving the changeling Mooks.
  • In Game Theory, a tense fight scene is followed by Vesta complaining about hurting herself by chasing her own tail.
  • The mood whiplashes left and right in Because I'm Not Popular I'll Try To Out With A hero. Sometimes it's comedic and upbeat, other times it's romantic and heartwarming, if it's not either of those, expect it to be dark and serious.
  • Pleasant Meadows begins as a COYA fanfic featuring many underappreciated Touhou Project characters, written on the same board as A Wizard Is You. After the main character, a butler, gets a chance to meet all of said characters, the host of the gathering, Yukari Yakumo, is bloodily murdered, and the rest of the fanfic plays out as a slasher-film-style survival fic. The Whiplash strikes again at the end; because voters couldn't decide between the MC ending up with two different characters, the author made it so both happens through a Phlebotinum Breakdown, and the fic ends with four characters, including two clones of the main character, yelling at Yukari for screwing things up.
  • Turnabout Storm has Gilda's teary-eyed confession after her testimony is debunked, and then she asks the Judge if she can say one more thing...and proceeds to flip out on Phoenix and threaten him with all sorts of bodily harm if he's still around when she gets out of jail. She even flips Phoenix off before being sent away.
  • Kill la Kill AU is a mostly lighthearted fan webcomic series, up until Comic 25, the Forbidden Room Arc, which involves Nui being dragged into a basement or room by something and Ragyo almost dying from her injuries as result of going to rescue her. Later, the series mostly dips into Cerebus Rollercoaster, particularly with the Fanfics (as in some are light and others not so much).
  • When a Pony Calls starts off as a light-hearted comedy, about a brony named Soren (not to be confused with the character in the show.) switching bodies with Lyra, while still they are still stuck in their respectives homes as a different species... then Soren learns that some kind of natural "back up" of Lyra's mind is slowly destroying his own, because it has mistaken him for an intruder trying to take over Lyra's body and when he gets to Equestria in hopes of fixing this problem he learns that a side affect of Equestria's natural magical environment is turning his human body into a pony.
  • New Game Plus: Frequent in Chapter 5.
    • A notable instance when Nami realizes that Luffy’s expecting her to pay for the armada, currently consisting of 219 people, to eat at the Baratie until he can convince Zeff to join them. She then faints from euphoria Luffy promises that she can have One Piece if she does.
    • Happens twice in a row with Patty. First his “pleasant” demeanor vanishes when he hears that the Straw Hats have 219 mouths to feed. Then it returns when Nami shows that they have enough money to pay for it.
    • Sanji is reduced to a similar state as when he saw his wanted poster when he finds out that Kaya is Usopp’s girlfriend, and they prove it with a passionate kiss. He snaps out of that in a second when he’s called to the kitchen, instantly ready to serve.
  • Advice and Trust: During one scene in Chapter 9, Rei and Kaworu are having an argument regarding Rei's inability to tell Shinji and Asuka certain secrets. It's played seriously, up until it turns out Kaworu has a boner.
  • Many, many examples in the One Piece Self-Insert Fic This Bites!:
    • Chapter 13. So, Cross has just been made aware of the fact that he's blurted out a lot about their adventures that he shouldn't know, and Sanji seems ready to interrogate him. With a face that is, quote, "serious as a nuclear winter," Sanji calmly demands that Cross tell him everything he knows about one person that he mentioned in his sleep… Princess Shirahoshi.
    Cross: …Wait, what!?
Sanji: (love mode) You heard me! Tell me about the Mermaid Princess! The most beautiful creature beneath the seas, an exquisite example of feminine form, truly Aphrodite incarnate! You have to tell me all about her, I beg of you, I'll do whatever I have to! Just tell me about her!
    • And the whiplash continues as Cross lists three reasons that Sanji cannot be her knight in shining armor. He remains in love mode as Cross says that she's 20,000 feet below the surface; he instantly changes to burning fury when Cross says that a villainous stalker is after her, forcing her to stay in solitary confinement; and he instantly changes to hit the Despair Event Horizon when Cross informs him that Shirahoshi is no older than 14/15.
Sanji: WHHHYYYYY!? CURSE YOU, FATHER TIME! CUUUURSE YOOOOUUUU!
Finally, once he gets over that, it's back to his no-nonsense understanding of the true gravity of the situation.
    • In the following chapter, after The Reveal, it happens again in the same situation: after Cross tearfully begs for forgiveness, Nami solemnly asks him to answer one question…how rich they're going to get. Sanji then jumps in asking about the beauties they'll find, Zoro briefly attempts to chastise them before caving and asking about their future fights…yeah.
    • In Chapter 23, Koala goes from contemplative to furious when she hears herself described as prominent and cuddly.
    • In Chapter 24, Cross quickly revises his opinion that Chopper should never go Hyde again when he hears that he almost doubled the Rumble Ball's effectiveness within the first few minutes before he went insane.
    • In Chapter 29, Cross's mood switches from sleepy to panicked when Hina suggests letting Vergo in on MI3.
    • In Chapter 32, Sanji flip-flops between terrified and loving when he hears the No-Holds-Barred Beatdown Nami is executing on Jonathan.
    • During the events of Movie 6, Broggy congratulates Dorry for remembering where he heard about a flower that messes with the minds of its victims, before both panic when they realize exactly what the Straw Hats are facing.
    • In Chapter 43, Merry goes from lamenting that she can't swim anymore, to jubilant that Usopp has a solution, to furious that said solution is an inner tube.
    • In the same chapter, post-Enies Lobby victory celebration, Cross, Zoro, Nami, Vivi and Merry are watching the sunrise after successfully negotiating with the remnants of CP9, and then the scene cuts to Aokiji and a newly minted Warlord Blackbeard watching Ace, Squardo and Whitey in a Marine brig.
  • Yin and Yang Series: Since chapters in "Paradise is Where The Heart Is" focus on different characters and plots, tone can also vary from chapter to chapter.
  • Did I Make the Most of Loving You? opens with Bill Adama and Laura Roslin finding themselves in the past, almost two decades before the fall of the Twelve Colonies, after their deaths, quickly tracking the other down, realising that they each remember the old future, and resolving to get married so as not to waste any more time apart. Just as they are leaving the temple where they got married, they see Aaron Doral- Cylon Model Number Five- sitting in the temple, and have to face the fact that the Cylons have already infiltrated the Colonies and will have to be fought if the human race is going to have any kind of future.
  • Worlds Apart (Buffy) sees Buffy and Angel go from one extreme to the other and back when they're finally reunited after Angel was captured by the Council after his return from Hell. Angel's initial joy at seeing Buffy again is tainted because he believes the century he spent in Hell also passed on Earth, causing him to assume that Buffy's appearance is just some sick game being played by the Council, and Buffy naturally assumes that Angel vamping out and grabbing her by the throat means that he's Angelus rather than Angel. It's only when Angel asks "What are you?" and reveals his belief about how long he's been away from Earth that he and Buffy are able to establish that both of them are real, allowing them to take a few moments of peace to enjoy their reunion.
  • Chapter 17 of the Pokemon fanfic Travels of the Trifecta alternates between more comical scenes of Barry and Conway's interactions and Paul's angst-filled training for the upcoming battle against Ash.
  • A Gem in the Rough: "The Dream Island" starts out with the Straw Hats asking Garnet questions, Luffy talking with Pearl, and Steven entering Luffy's dreams where he ends up on an island of meat with younger dream versions of Luffy, Ace, and Sabo. Everything seems like it is going to be an innocent, fun time exploring Steven's dreams powers...until Steven finds a door hidden in some rocks. Inside, Steven finds some interesting trinkets, like Arlong's shark teeth and Crocodile's hook. Steven is already unnerved when he comes across a small, talking flower... The rest of the chapter is one punch in the gut after another.
  • The Kim Possible fic "Equal Romance 02: Obscure Ways to Devotion" sees Ron experience this, at least from his perspective. As far as Ron is aware, he fell unconscious while Kim was yelling that she hated him, to the extent that she basically accused Ron of attempted rape, and pushed him away while he was feeling sick. Ron's next conscious memory is waking up in hospital to find Kim crying over him, only for her to pull him into a joyful kiss (Ron is unaware that he just spent two months in a coma, during which Kim learnt what really motivated his earlier actions and realised that she had made a series of horrible mistakes).
  • In Loaded Bones, Chapter 4 starts with Ryou celebrating his birthday and ends with Yami Bakura regaining control of the body and forcing him to help him.
  • Teen Titans fanfic Doppelganger Non Grata begins with a very dark opening chapter before switching to wacky comedy in the second chapter. To be fair, the source material was prone to this trope, too.
  • In Supergirl fanfic Hellsister Trilogy, as trying to torture Pariah, Desaad's torturing device blows up in his face, which gets soot-smudged. Then Desaad cleans himself, assembles a mind-probe and mind-rapes information out of Pariah.
  • In Neither a Bird nor a Plane, it's Deku!, Izuku goes from feeling like his life was over from discovering that he was Quirkless to being on Cloud Nine when he discovered his "Quirk" after tearing the door right off the wall after getting home. Just over a week later, he's loathing every fiber of his being for nearly crippling Bakugou and discovering that he's an alien.
Izuku: In the span of an hour, I went from feeling like my life was over to being on top of the world. As far as I knew, the doctor was wrong, and I did have a Quirk. A Quirk like All Might's, too! It was everything I ever dreamed of! At least until it became everything I didn't even know I was afraid of.
  • The sequel to Child of the Storm has Harry on the verge of becoming the Dark Phoenix, a Humanoid Abomination with the raw power to swallow planets, to burn galaxies, to turn everything and everyone he knows and loves into ash and smoke as his pain and fury and power feed off one another in a vicious cycle to create a monster greater and more terrible than the galaxy has known in a million years...and then his rant is abruptly cut off by Carol.
"Oh my god, you total fucking drama queen."
    • Appears to be the running theme with this fic. One minute we are introduced to some light family fluff then the next minute Harry & Co are literally fighting for their lives. And sometimes, vice versa.
  • In My Huntsman Academia, Mitsuki Bakugou is talking her son's ear off while demanding that he takes some time out of his schedule to visit his father while she's on vacation with Inko. After screaming non-stop for five minutes, she sweetly tells Katsuki to say hi to his teammates (particularly Ruby) and that she loves him.
Mitsuki: LISTEN TO ME YOU LITTLE BITCH, YOU KNOW HOW YOUR FATHER GETS WHEN HE HAS TO STAY IN THAT HOUSE BY HIMSELF, SO YOU'RE GOING TO TAKE SOME TIME OUT OF YOUR DAMN SCHEDULE TO VISIT HIM EVERY WEEK OR SO WHILE I'M ON VACATION AND I MEAN IT!... DON'T MAKE ME TAKE THE TRAIN OVER THERE AND DRAG YOUR ASS BACK TO MOUNTAIN GLENN JUST TO MAKE A POINT, BECAUSE YOU KNOW I WILL!... DON'T GET FUCKIN' SMART WITH ME! I MADE YOU AND I CAN JUST AS EASILY UNMAKE YOU!... That's what I thought. Now tell that little Ruby girl and the rest of your teammates I said hi, I'm here at Inko's house so I have to go now. I love you, alright?
  • In Amazing Fantasy, Izuku tries to open the story with the same deliberate, overly dramatic tone used in the opening of the first Spider-Man film. It veers straight into comedy when he bores his listener and has to beg them to stay.
Izuku: Do you want to know my story? Are you sure you want to know? The tale I'm going to spin isn't for the faint of heart and... Wait! Wait, don't go! O-Okay look, this is the first time I've told anybody what happened like this, so please be patient! Our story begins like a lot of manga and comics do... in middle school.
  • In The Secret Return of Alex Mack, a chapter that was supposed to be a light-hearted Breather Episode starts with some characters on a road trip and ends with a nine-year-old girl suicide nuking a Grey Goo infestation with her pyrokinesis. With her adopted big sister present but unable to save her.
  • The Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers Fan Fic Under the Bridge is a Dark Fic, even for CDRR fanfic standards (and especially early CDRR fics can get pretty dark). Nonetheless, funny or wacky situations keep popping up when you don't expect them, thereby sometimes feeling out of place while trying to lighten up the story.
  • A Brighter Dark: Happens about once every other chapter. Because the story jumps around various POV characters on both sides of the Hoshidan/Nohr conflict, usually between characters in completely different parts of the map, it is not uncommon to be in the middle of a graphic death scene and switch over to a little dose of light hearted comedic banter.
  • Tokimeki PokéLive! and TwinBee:One story is lighthearted and funny, though the next is more serious or has darker moments or some dark backstory is revealed in it and back again.
  • The Raven's Plan:
    • When Stannis arrives back at the Red Keep totally pissed-face drunk, Robert finds the situation hilarious, jokingly asking if they're going to be drinking buddies now. Then Stannis reveals why he's drunk (guilt over burning Shireen to death in the old timeline), and Robert becomes so disgusted that he has Stannis tossed into a Black Cell, all but disowning him on the spot.
    • Upon learning that Meera fell in love with Bran, Ned is initially overjoyed for his son. Then Bran reminds him that he's the Three-Eyed Raven now, not Bran, which kills Ned's mood as he realizes that relationship came to nothing.
  • A Tale of Two Rulers:
    • After Zelda and Ganondorf discuss the millions of deaths to both Gerudo and Hylians over the centuries, they end the conversation by Ganondorf kissing a "reluctant" Zelda.
    • A few pages after Ganondorf comedically steals a piece of his wedding cake, a bunch of Zelda's knights try to kill him because they refuse to let him become king. Ganondorf kills them and delivers one of their head's to Zelda in the middle of the night.
  • In A Fall Summer Knight's Dream, Summer Rose uses yoga to pose sexily for Jaune in order to tease him, right up until something gives out in her back and she collapses in pain.
  • In Chapter 6 of Girls und Panzer: Hope Dies, Shiho's apparent death is followed by Caesar and Carpaccio having lesbian sex, which in turn is followed by Erika being abducted and interrogated to force her to confess to Miho's murder (despite the fact that Erika didn't actually kill Miho).
  • Son of the Sannin:
    • Chapter 32 has Lee talking to Sakura about the reason why he keeps working hard to improve herself: his sensei believed in him when nobody else did, and he wants to inspire that same feeling in others. Sakura is touched by this until Lee tells her how much training they still have left to do, and her expression switches to hate and horror at the incoming torture.
    • Chapter 96, opens with a scene between Hinata and Anko (who is topless), as the former tries to remove the latter's Cursed Seal. It starts out rather tense, as the process causes Anko a horrible pain that makes her scream, to the point Hinata has to temporarily apply pressure points to immobilize her, but she endures it all the way. And when it's finally over, she hugs Hinata in gratitude... right when a Hyuga comes in after hearing Anko's screams and sees a rather suggestive scene.
  • Sword Art Online Abridged: While the series is a parody of Sword Art Online, it is also known for playing some of the most emotional scenes in the original dead straight, even if the context is changed slightly. In the original, the Moonlit Black Cats stumbled into a blatantly obvious trap because they didn't know Kirito was much more experienced than them and worth listening to, and were all killed while Sachi tried to tell Kirito it wasn't his fault. In the abridged series, they are smart enough not to fall for it, but most of the team consists of NPCs who trigger the trap on accident. The scene is mostly Black Comedy as the NPC with their teleport crystals wanders off, the player with the healing items dies, and all their options dwindle. But when Sachi tries to tell Kirito it's not his fault, her connection glitches again, and she just ends up repeating "your fault" over and over as she dies.
  • A Diplomatic Visit: Chapter 4 of the sequel Diplomat at Large ends this way. One minute, Chrysalis is being dealt with so she'll never pose a threat ever again. The next, they get news that makes Celestia freeze in shock before calling for a full meeting of the Noble Council - because war is coming.
  • Bucky Barnes Gets His Groove Back & Other International Incidents is a fanfic series that is perhaps 80% snark and ridiculous events, with the other 20% consisting of occasional, well-timed gut-punches of horror and angst. Many a commenter has mentioned going from hysterical laughter to tears and back within the span of a single (albeit often north of 10k words long) chapter.
  • In Volume 2, Chapter 3 of Marriage of Heaven and Hell, Makoto has a nightmare that starts with all of the members of the Occult Research Club fighting over him, with even Raynare getting into an argument with Akeno. Then they are all dissolved as the goddess of death, Halja, shows up and claims that "Everyone you love is doomed to destruction" before he wakes up from the nightmare.
  • Chapter 52 of Hunters of Justice, released around Halloween of 2020, sees one story based of RWBY Chibi that makes fun on Comic-Book Time — and followed it up with a story based on the concept of the Dark Multiverse where a distraught Ruby turns to Lex Luthor to rebuild Penny, only to end up with Penny and Ruby fusing and taking over the world (and a run-in with the Batman Who Laughs) and one based on Batman: Last Knight on Earth, where a tortured Ruby becomes Omega instead of the original Bruce Wayne.
  • Chapter 10 of What Tomorrow Brings is mostly Ax reflecting on how he acted distant from humanity at first... and ends with a comment about how cinnamon buns are better than Earth grass.
  • Near the end of the first chapter in I Got You, Little Buddy, Bear promises the school nurse he'll make sure Eddie gets home safely. Cut to Bear blitzing through Springdale in the rain, with Tongus and Roughraff barely able to keep up.
  • The Wrath of Avelina: After creating a plant that only grows in Japan, Isabela joyously celebrates...before collapsing into her sister's arms, having fallen victim to Avelina's curse.
  • My Ideal Academia: After giving Shirou a passionate speech about why he chose Shirou as the rider of their team and why he respects and owes him so much, Shinso asks Shishida what he thinks. Getting no response, Shinsou asks Shirou to check on him. Shirou obliges, only to find that Shishida fell asleep while the countdown for the cavalry battle to begin started, surprising both of them.
  • Spy X Family: In this (fandubbed) fan-comic originally by artist Nanagi, Twilight and several WISE agents confront Chairman Donovan Desmond and his security detail by threatening Damian, his teenage son, at gunpoint so that Desmond Senior can stop his plans to restart the war, but Donovan still abides by his philosophy that people will never understand one another, and delivers a diatribe where he essentially says that the war is necessary because "Might Makes Right" and leaves Damian to his fate at the hands of the WISE agents. Back at WISE headquarters, Twilight and the other agents discuss the fallout of Donovan escaping, as well as what to do about Damian, which is when Anya, also in her teens, is brought in with the hopes she can talk to Damian. When she goes into the room he's in, Damian tries to act strong and tells her there's no point in talking to him since he has no valuable information, and yells at her to leave him alone since no one wants him anyway. Anya starts to cry and calls Damian an idiot for pretending to not care about anything, but she knows he's devastated over the fact that he excelled at school with the hopes that would get him some recognition, and even love, from his father, who callously discarded him without a second thought. This causes Damian to hug Anya and break down in tears while promising not to let her go, since she's the only person who showed him some genuine affection. When Damian and Anya exit the room so he can drink some water, Twilight asks why her chest is wet, and Anya, not wanting Damian to be embarrassed with people knowing he was crying, proudly proclaims "it's Sy-On Boy's saliva!" Which makes Damian choke on his water and for Twilight's Loid Forger persona to wonder what exactly were they doing in that room.
  • In chapter 22 of Monster in the Mountain, Asriel Dreemurr takes an amnesiac Frisk on a tour of space before he reveals to them the truth of his terrible actions. The romantic tour transforms into a nightmare when Asriel confesses to destroying the world thousands of times in anger and hatred, then proceeds to demonstrate this live to a horrified Frisk.
  • Naru-Hina Chronicles:
    • Sasuke and Naruto's reunion is taken as seriously as you'd expect... right up until Naruto punches Sasuke on the head.
    • Naru-Hina Chronicles Mini-sodes:
      • Hinago's Love Confession is adorable, but it leaves Naruko weeping in private, barely able to understand why, and at a complete loss as for how to respond.
      • Right after shoving his face into her breasts, Naruko expresses how much she genuinely appreciates Hinago for sticking up for her, telling him that he has no idea how much it means to her.
      • In one Mini-sode, Naruto and Hinata have a romantic moment where they are drawn in a more realistic style and he declares how much he loves her. Then, the final panel shows Sakura and Sasuke in chibified form, the former having blank white eyes, the latter frowning and asking why are Naruto and Hinata always acting so weird (while the Uzumaki and the Hyuga themselves are back to being drawn in a chibified form and making a cartoony smooch to each other).
  • My Hero Academia: Unchained Predator: Hawks rushes to the medical bay by following the Slayer's bloody footprints after he was knocked out and Miruko was abducted. When he arrives, expecting a fight, he instead finds the Slayer giving medical treatment to Miruko. He is left completely lost as mere minutes ago, he saw the Slayer turn Wolfram's head into paste.
    Hawks: Did I... miss something?
    Miruko: You missed a lot.
