Director Orson Krennic

• WE STAND HERE AMIDST MY ACHIEVEMENT, NOT YOURS!^Explanation Krennic's reaction after Tarkin took credit of destroying Jedha City and control of Death Star. Can also be used if someone stole your meme.
• ARE WE BLIND? DEPLOY THE GARRISON!^Explanation Krennic's reaction upon seeing that the rebels are attacking Scarif, and the Stunned Silence of his officers instead of an actual response.
  • DEPLOY THE <Insert object here>. ^Explanation The word "Garrison" is replaced by another Star Wars-related phrase or word, such as "Senate", "High Ground", "Mr. Garrison" or ""Harrison" (In response to Solo: A Star Wars Story's new Han Solo actor, Alden Ehrenreich).
  • Alternatively used to describe reusing ideas or bringing back characters to please fans, in response to negative feedback.
• "Oh, It's beautiful." ^Explanation  Krennic's reaction to the Death Star's weapon test on Jedha.
• "Oh, here comes [X] back from the dead. It's a miracle."^Explanation  Krennic's response when he sees Lyra Erso approaching him moments after Galen had told Krennic she was dead, frequently used as a response to unconvincing character deaths in other franchises, like Superman, Jon Snow, everyone who died in Infinity War, etc...
• "We were on the verge of greatness, we were this close."^Explanation Krennic says this to Galen when Galen chose to hide rather than complete the construction of the Death Star.
• "Farming, really? A man of your talents?"^Explanation Galen uses the Call to Agriculture as an excuse to stop working on the Death Star. The line comes from Krennic, who doesn't buy it for a second.
  • "(Insert job here), really? A man of your talents?"^Explanation When people with college education or similar, lands on low-skill jobs.

K-2SO

• "These are prisoners. I'm taking them... to imprison them. In prison." ^Explanation Kay's specific and unconvincing response to "Where are you taking those prisoners?"
• "Cassian said I had to." ^Explanation  K-2SO's Brutal Honesty to Jyn became a way to explain what they will do is influenced by someone else
• "I find that answer vague and unconvincing" ^Explanation  When Cassian finds that Jyn is carrying a blaster, he asks where she got it. Jyn replies that she found it. Kay then replies with this quote.
• "Congratulations, you are being rescued. Please do not resist." ^Explanation Kay's introductory quote to Jyn after he and the Rebel Alliance free her from an Imperial prisoner camp on Wobani and he's forced to slam her against the ground so that she doesn't run away. Often used to mock the United States' foreign policies.
• "It's high. It's very high." ^Explanation Kay's brutally honest response to a Never Tell Me the Odds! moment.
• "That is a bad idea. I think so. And Cassian thinks so, too." ^Explanation Yet more Brutal Honesty from K-2SO

Others

• Lies! Deception! ^Explanation Saw Gerrera yells this at Bodhi when the ex-Imperial is brought before him with the promise of a message from Galen Erso. Often used as a response to false information.
  • Bor Gullet will know the truth! ^Explanation Saw, unimpressed by Bodhi's claims, subjects the latter to Mind Rape via a tentacled monster. Used in conjunction with "Lies! Deceptions!" to punish false claims with extreme prejudice.
• Rouge One ^Explanation There has been no shortage of this misspelling across the fandom — such that people have begun running with it and applied blush to the entire cast like this◊.
• Darth Vader: Drama Queen^Explanation Vader's first scene in Rogue One occurs when Krennic visits him in his home on Mustafar, and basically goes like this: Krennic arrives at Darth Vader's scary palace on the hellscape of a lava planet, and Darth Vader, in response, gets out of his bacta tank, dresses in his full armor, walks out through a door and some inexplicable fog (fans joke that he hid fog machines just to make that happen) with his cape billowing behind him, meets Krennic on top of a floating platform, admonishes Krennic for his failings, and then Force-chokes him while laying down a sick burn/pun, before leaving just as dramatically through the same ominous door and wall of fog, again, cape billowing behind him. Fans have latched onto this moment as absolute proof that Vader purposely tries to be as intimidating as possible. Remember that planet is the one where Vader was horribly disfigured and crippled and where he thinks he murdered his wife and unborn child.
  • Also "Darth Vader is so extra." ^Explanation "Extra" is slang for someone who is an over-the-top Drama Queen.
• Sir! We just detected a massive object emerging from hyperspace! ^Explanation  One of the Mon Calamari crew members says this when the Death Star arrives at Scarif. This has been parodied with the massive object being Obi-Wan saying, "Hello There."
• I am one with the Force, and the Force is with me.^Explanation Chirrut's Survival Mantra, which he recites at various points in the film. Fans quickly took to saying it themselves when confronted with stressful situations.
• "BITCH! I saw you leaving Scarif ten minutes ago!" ^Explanation After Rogue One came out and had an ending that pretty much directly leads into A New Hope, many people have started joking about the sheer Implausible Deniability of Leia claiming that the ship was on a diplomatic mission when Darth Vader had seen it leave in person at the end of Rogue One. Many people have taken to using some phrase like this as Vader's response to such a bald-faced lie.
• Treating "many Bothans died" as a spoiler, despite the line referencing intel gathering for the second Death Star in Return of the Jedi, not this one.
  • This has led to the memetic correction that "They're saving Bothans for Rogue Two." or general jokes that the protagonists of Rogue Two will be Bothans.
  • "No Bothans were harmed during the making of Rogue One", which has come as a response to the misquote above.
• One of Jyn's lines from the original trailer: "This is a rebellion, isn't it? I rebel", especially among the detractors for the trailers.
• After the second trailer, a surprisingly large amount of people (most likely brought into the fandom by the hype for The Force Awakens) kept asking if Rogue One was the sequel to TFA, despite the fact that the trailers obviously show the original Death Star, the Empire, the Rebellion, and other OT-era elements. This led to a large amount of people mocking them by pretending to ask why everyone from TFA has been recast, or asking why Darth Vader has been brought back from the dead.
• A poster for the film's sequel has been leaked◊, apparently.
• The internet collectively decided that the reason Vader wasn't participating in the ground battle at Scarif is because he doesn't like sand.
• Be careful not to choke on your aspirations, director. ^Explanation Vader Force-chokes Krennic in Rogue One after the latter comes all the way to Mustafar to complain about Tarkin, and ends up annoying Vader in the process.
  • Vader's single absolutely terrible pun in the film has led to reimagining the original trilogy with Vader telling dad jokes all the time.

  • But, be careful not to choke on your assumptions, as in the original trilogy, Vader made dark humor jokes all the time. And in the prequel trilogy, Anakin's Narm Charm is legendary.
  • It got to the point where the Robot Chicken series included a skit with Vader sending out a Hurricane of Puns as he slices through the Rebels.
• "Save the Rebellion. Save the dream!"^Explanation Saw Gerrera says this to Jyn Erso before his death.
  • This has crossed over with the Ice Cream Guy meme from The Empire Strikes Back so that "Save the Rebellion. Save the ice cream!" has become the motto of Willrow Hood cosplayers.
• With the revelation that Galen Erso purposefully engineered the Death Star's weakness, some have gone on to joke that Galen was also responsible for the Empire's other questionable design choices.
• "Pulling a Rogue One" has become fandom shorthand for killing off your entire cast in a similar manner to "pulling a Red Wedding" or "pulling a George R. R. Martin".
• Rogue One being the real suicide squad. ^Explanation The films not only coming out the same year but also regarding the latter having less (main character) deaths and getting mixed reviews in comparison.
• The texture of Jabba. ^Explanation Diego Luna has frequently and enthusiastically expressed his desire to touch Jabba the Hutt, often citing the texture of his skin as his primary reason for wanting to do so. Naturally, once fans had taken notice, they took to jokingly shipping either Luna himself or Cassian with Jabba, among other such meme-worthy activities.
