It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has garnered a sizable online fandom thanks to its absurd characters and equally absurd humor, and with its online popularity also comes a lot of memes.

General

• The title tune's cheery theme and the morbid title cards. Plus its similarity to the opening credits of Taxi, despite Danny DeVito only joining the show in Season 2.
• Mac and Charlie pretend-crying or "Aw, I'm sorry, did somebody get addicted to crack?"^Explanation A popular way to mock people complaining about misfortunes they wholeheartedly deserve.

• "I've had enough of this dude."◊ ^Explanation the Gang's reaction to a framed portrait of George Washington. It's usually used as a reaction to make fun of unpopular characters. Sometimes gets modified to "I'll never have enough of this dude" or "I can't get enough of this dude."
• Charlie staring at Mac.◊

• Shut up, science bitch!^Explanation In "Mac Day", Country Mac says this after a planetarium guide interrupts him. Similarly, it is often used to make fun of scientific studies and/or scientists.

• "I do not like this painting, Charlie. Its smug aura mocks me."^Explanation Frank's reaction to a dog painting in his and Charlie's apartment. Usually used similarly to "I've had about enough of this dude."
• "Dennis is asshole. Why Charlie hate?" "Because Dennis is a bastard man!"

• Mac presenting Dennis with a bowl of Mac's Famous Mac and Cheese followed by Dennis violently tossing it aside.^Explanation A popular template for image labeling memes.

• The "Science Is A Liar Sometimes" board with "BITCH" slapped across Aristotle, Galileo, and Newton's faces.^Explanation  Used whenever science says something that the poster disagrees with (e.g. "pluto isn't a planet," "dogs are smarter than cats"). • Simply stating the show's title, along with its long run, to instantly shut up anyone who makes the old argument of "You couldn't make something like Blazing Saddles today." This became a bit of a Discredited Meme, however, after several episodes were either censored or completely removed from Hulu, and the cast apologized for some of the show's more off-color jokes.
• Many people had a field day after Charlie Day was cast as Luigi in The Super Mario Bros. Movie. This has also extended to casting the rest of the Gang as Super Mario characters, such as Kaitlin Olson as Princess Peach and especially Danny DeVito as Wario.

• After Glenn Howerton became a popular fancast for Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, many memes sprung up depicting the rest of the Gang as the other members of the Fantastic Four. Even Ryan Reynolds got in on the joke.
• Whenever any of Dennis' freakouts or psychopathic moments get shared on social media fans have taken to making sure everyone reading their comment is aware that Glenn Howerton is a Julliard trained actor.
• After Colleen Ballinger was accused of innapropriate behavior with underage fans, and released a ukulele song denying the allegations in response; screenshots of Mac telling Frank, "There is no quicker way for people to think that you are diddling kids than by writing a song about it!" and Dee singing "Just to be clear..." became quite popular in mid-2023.

Charlie

• "Wild card, bitches! YEEEEE HAAAAAAW!"
• "What do now?"
• "SHUT UUUUUUUUUP! SHUT UP! Oh my God, I don't care!" ^Explanation  Used to interrupt two people on the web discussing something trivial and unimportant, or generally something the poster of the meme doesn't care about.
• The entire Pepe Silvia Rant, so much that the phrase is sometimes used as shorthand for coming up with wild theories. This page's image is often posted to mock conspiracy theorists, either the serious or Epileptic Trees variety.
  • The shot of Charlie knocking on the door labelled "Carol" while screaming her name has gotten a lot of play in the wake of Avengers: Infinity War^{Explanation (spoilers for Infinity War)} Infinity War ends with Thanos snapping his fingers and killing off half the universe. In The Stinger a dying Nick Fury sends off a Distress Signal to Carol Danvers, AKA Captain Marvel
• DID YOU FUCK MY FUCKING MOM, SANTA CLAUS?"^Explanation  Used whenever a character is implied to have fucked someone's mom, with "Santa Claus" replaced with the character's name.
• "Day Man, ah AH AHHHHHHH! fighter of the Night Man, ah AH AHHHHHHH champion of the sun!"^Explanation The Dayman is one of the most iconic parts of the show, right down to even getting its own musical adaptation.

Dee

• "Tell me I'm good. Tell me I'm good. Tell me I'm good tell me I'm good tell me I'm good tell me I'm good TELL ME I'M GOOD-" ^Explanation  Dee begging her therapist to give her good feedback on her acting skills. Usually used by people seeking validation for their work or contribution.

• "Hey everybody, PatheticGirl43 here, coming to you live!"^Explanation A line referecing Dee's Youtube username that can be easily exploited for Self-Deprecation.

Dennis

• Dennis' "implication" ^{full quote}  "The whole purpose of buying the boat in the first place was to get the ladies nice and tipsy topside so we can take 'em to a nice comfortable place below deck and, you know, they can't refuse, because of the implication. She's out in the middle of nowhere with some dude she barely knows. You know, she looks around and what does she see? Nothin' but open ocean. "Ahh, there's nowhere for me to run. What am I gonna do, say 'no'?" Because if the girl said "no" then the answer obviously is "no." But the thing is she's not gonna say "no", she would never say "no" because of the implication. ^Explanation  Quoted whenever appropriate or the word "implication" pops up.
• "Newsflash asshole! I've been hearing it the entire goddamn time!"^Explanation This is how Dennis reveals to Mac he has been gaslighting him about the chirping noise in their subarban home. Usually used to parody similiar shocking reveals, either in media or real life.
• [laughter] You dumb bitch.^note The shot of Dennis in his car accompanied by the quote is often combined with the meme of Joker getting hit by a taxi, making it look like Dennis did a hit-and-run on Joker while calling him a bitch.
• I AM UNTETHERED AND MY RAGE KNOWS NO BOUNDS!
• The D.E.N.N.I.S. System ^{Stands for} Demonstrate Value, Engage Physically, Nurture Dependence, Neglect Emotionally, Inspire Hope, Separate Entirely ^Explanation In "The D.E.N.N.I.S. System", Dennis reveals his procedure for psychologically abusing his dates and names it after himself. Some fans also use it as a synonym for psychological abuse or gaslighting.

This one's popularity mainly came about as a result of Vinesauce Vinny and Joel repeatedly bringing it up in their streams, to the point where they are often linked with the meme.
• "Oh, whoops, ooh... I dropped my MONSTER CONDOM that I use for my MAGNUM DONG!'' ^Explanation  Frank's pickup line for wooing Caylee in "The D.E.N.N.I.S. System" is often quoted for Gag Penis jokes. It also became the subject of a few popular Voice Clip Songs as noted here.
• "I got my magnum condoms, I got my wad'a hundreds - I'm ready to plow!"
• Suicide is badass! ^note Mac thinks jumping off a bridge is badass, but the rest of the gang misconstrue it as him trying to kill himself in order to be badass.
• His pronunciation of certain words with DeVito's heavy New Jersey accent, mainly "tresh" (trash), "hoor" (whore), and "Chawlie/Chollie" (Charlie).
• Shit, he don't look a day over twelve!
• Frank dressed as Spider-Man/Man-Spider often shows up in Marvel memes, where he's usually portrayed as a Memetic Badass.
• "Can I offer you a nice egg in this trying time?"
• Frank's persona Ongo Gablogian in the episode "Dee Made A Smut Film" is frequently quoted for his impromptu art criticism, such as "Bullshit", "Derivative", and "Now this, this I love".
• "You gotta pay the troll toll if you wanna get into this boy's hole."^Explanation The actual lyrics are "boy's soul", but his pronunciation makes it sound like this.
• "So anyway, I started blasting.◊"^Explanation Frank says this in the episode "Gun Fever Too: Still Hot" where he demonstrates his recklessness and aggression in shooting people in "self-defense". Because of this, this meme is applied to Trigger-Happy individuals who get too excited when using their guns, often resulting in friendly fire.
• "Oh my God. I get it."^Explanation Frank's tearful expression at finally understanding Mac's homosexuality has been used to express people finally grasping a concept that had eluded them for a long time.

Mac

• "I'm playing both sides so that I always come out on top."^Explanation Mac's quote from "Frank Retires" which becomes the go-to way in the Internet to comment how someone is Playing Both Sides.
• "That doesn't sound right, but I don't know enough about [X] to disprove it."^Explanation Mac's response to Charlie stating his belief that the smoke from his trash fires become stars. Usually said in response to obviously wrong statement about an area of knowledge the poster does not have a firm grasp on.
• "First of all, through God all things are possible, so jot that down."^Explanation When a therapist tells Mac it's impossible to gain and lose 60 pounds in only a few weeks, he has this to say. Most the time, people replace "God" with something they really like.
• "Oh my god, that's disgusting. Where?◊"^Explanation During the "Anti-Social Network, the character Sally tells Mac and Dee that an ex-boyfriend posted naked photos of her online without her consent. Often used to feign disgust on NSFW content
• Variants of Mac's creepy letter to Philadelphia Phillies player Chase Utley are very often used by fans on sports forums to jokingly describe their preferences for their favorite players or to occasionally mock other sports fans who, like Mac, are too obsessed with certain athletes.
  • Oh shit, there's stickers!^Explanation Dee's response to said letter, sometimes used as a follow-up response.
  • It then became an Ascended Meme in a later episode, "The Gang Gets Stranded in the Woods", as Chase Utley appears As Himself in said episode. In 2013, Chase Utley actually responded to Mac's letter, and in 2019, Chase Utley and Rob McElhenney played a ceremonial game of catch before a Phillies game.
• Mac in costume as the Nightman (particularly gifs of him hissing) has become a common response to overly corny or schlocky attempts at Darker and Edgier aesthetics.

Other Characters

• Uncle Jack's massive insecurity about his small hands has led people to draw a lot of comparisons with Donald Trump's boasting about his own hand size, particularly after "McPoyle vs. Ponderosa: The Trial of the Century".

• Shut up, baby dick^Explanation Roxy's dismissal of Dennis' plea for her to clean up her act in "Frank's Pretty Woman" has taken on its own life as a casual display of disrespect.
