This manga provides examples of:

  • All Animals Are Domesticated: Zigzagged. Though Graystripe is friendlier than an actual feral cat, he still clearly isn't tame. He doesn't bond with his owners and just wants to get back to the forest.
  • Animesque: Despite being labeled as manga, they're not Japanese.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing:
    • Sasha meets some cats on a farm Pine shows her. They pretend to be nice, but as soon as Pine leaves, they attack Sasha and her kits.
    • Willy and friends from Ravenpaw's Path.
  • Drowning Unwanted Pets: In the second volume of the Warriors: Tigerstar and Sasha manga, Sasha notices a bag floating in the river that she draws the Captain's attention to; inside is a kitten that she nurses back to health and raises.
  • Lighter and Softer: The books lack the large amount of Family-Unfriendly Violence and Family-Unfriendly Death from the source.
  • A Pet into the Wild: In The Lost Warrior, Millie is a kittypet who falls for Graystripe and leaves to join ThunderClan with him.
  • From Stray to Pet: In Graystripe's Adventure, Graystripe is taken by twolegs and forced to live as a kittypet. He hates it and ends up escaping with Millie's help.
  • Shout-Out: The magazine Cat Fancy makes an appearance in the first volume of the SkyClan manga, on page 82.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Being a feral cat, Graystripe isn't tame enough to be a good pet (at least without a lot of taming). He doesn't understand toys and won't let his owners touch him much. Graystripe runs off as soon as he can.
  • Unsuccessful Pet Adoption: Graystripe's Adventure is centered around Graystripe being "kidnapped" by humans. He's a feral cat and doesn't take too kindly to being kept as a pet, so he ends up running away with the help of a pet named Millie. Graystripe convinces Millie to leave with him and become his mate in ThunderClan.
