  • Hello! Sandybell, under the name Sandy Jonquille, is very popular in France. The finale is considered the best episode there for how sweet and heartwarming it is.
  • It is also HUGE in Italy. If you were growing up there during The '80s, it was impossible to avoid as it was was Adored by the Network by Mediaset, hence the anime constantly rerunning on channels like Rai, Italia 1 Canale 5 and La Cinq. And even on non-Mediaset channels like TeleMonteCarlo. It is so prevalent that if you ask any Italian to name a retro anime from that era, they will probably answer Sandybell. In September 2018 Italia 1 fully marathoned the series.
  • It is popular in Scandinavia since it was one of the first anime to ever be licensed and dubbed there. To many Finns and Swedes, Hello! Sandybell shaped an entire generation's view of the medium. The name itself even brings a wave of nostalgia amongst older Swedes.
  • The anime was much beloved in Hungary, so much that after it's initial airing in 1994 it received another broadcast in 1998 because kids and teenagers loved it. It is one of the most torrented anime on Hungarian sites.
  • Hello! Sandybell is also adored in Romania. WikiMoon notes that it is considered one of the most successful series aired there alongside Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon.
  • Greeks love Hello! Sandybell. Many young Greeks have memories of buying Sandybell casette tapes after it's run ended on TV.

Latin America

  • The show is notorious in Latin America, where the DVD release was massively popular. Mexicans even have their own knock-off comic series, "Las Aventuras de Sandybell".
    • And in Mexico, it has one of the greatest honours given only to anime like Dragon Ball Z - a restaurant titled after the main character.
  • Hello! Sandybell is so popular in Mexico and South America that an urban legend is that name "Sandybell" is a Baby Name Trend Starter. It is speculated that Sandybell Robaldino Aguilar (a Mexican politician) and Sandybell de Jesús Agosto (Miss Corazon/Puerto Rico 2008) are named after her, because "Sandybell" is a completely unconventional name for Mexican names (that are usually Spanish-language) and saying the name brings to mind the anime.
