The Battleships Universe
is a series of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fanfics by totallynotabrony. The story begins in Battleships are Magic, where a modern human battleship ends up in Equestria right as a war begins. Connection describes the first official contact between Equestria and Earth. The stories that follow describe the contacts between Earth and Equestria, and the adventures and developing careers of the pony characters on Earth.

Tropes in the series include:
- Alternate History: The series as a whole counts as this, given that Battleships are Magic is set in the past. (Specifically August 1990, during Operation Desert Shield).
- Cerebus Syndrome: The newest story, Ponyville Class is the first in the series to have the "Dark" tag.
- Though not sudden as "The Truth" had a few character deaths.
- Clock King: Constant Clock, though he's not a villain.
- Curb-Stomp Battle: In Battleships are Magic, the Equestrians (thanks to the Wisconsin providing naval support) pretty much pulverise a troop of dragons that had been invading the Zebra homeland.
- Drives Like Crazy: A random driver fumbling for a cassette tape while driving nearly gets Celestia, Twilight, and Pinkie killed.
- Invincible Hero: The USS Wisconsin in Battleships are Magic. Justified given the ship's sheer firepower and the differences in tech between Earth and Equestria this early in the series.
- Killed Off for Real: The Flim Flam brothers.
- Mass Teleportation: A battleship (specifically the USS Wisconsin), in Battleships are Magic.
- Murder Is the Best Solution: The Ukrainian Mob thinks this way in the "The Truth".
- No Antagonist / Slice of Life: Some of the fics in the series are these.
- In the second story the closest thing to a Antagonist is an idiot that took his eyes of the road and runs a van off a bridge nearly killing two of the mane six and Celestia.
- Out-of-Character Alert: The Truth. Corrupt detective Smally mentions that Constant Clock mentioned awaiting his friends "in a couple of minutes". The other characters realize he's lying, as Constant Clock always knows a precise time.
