Alex
is an Adventure Time fanfic created by MovieVillain.
The Land of Ooo is having an election between two competitors: Marceline and her opponent, a nerdy human girl named Alex. The thing is, the latter tries to turn the land into a dark place with a secret formula and pin the blame on the former.
This fanfiction provides examples of:
- Hoist by Her Own Petard: How Alex owns Marceline in her press conference by ordering her to spit in her coat, the same she spat at Princess Bubblegum's jacket in "What Was Missing". The result is that Witch teleports the spit back to her shirt. Much after that, she made Finn and some wolves attack her, the same way from "Go With Me".
- Ironic Echo: When Marceline asks Alex why is she doing all this in chapter 10, her reply is her song, "I'm Just Your Problem".
- The Man Behind the Man: Alex is the real mastermind behind the plots. "Memory of a Memory" and "What Was Missing" are those examples.
- Murder the Hypotenuse: Alex attempts to off Marceline for taking away her precious only ever.
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Alex does it to Marceline in chapter 4:Alex: That's the problem, Marceline, all that pranks you've pulled. Hey, you know what would be great? If you didn't make pranks. If you could just be a regular vampire. You know, sleeping in her coffin during the day and minding her own business at night. But nope, you're different, you're stagnant, and you have to spend your days being selfish and destructive while everyone else pays the price. I'm sure it's been enough to screw up Bonnibel's life. This time, you had to go down, and turn the Land of Ooo into a dark swamp. Tell me, Marcy, how far you would go now?
- Relationship Sabotage: In chapter 10, Alex knows of Marceline and Bonnibel's falling out because she started it.
- Sword and Gun: Alex carries a lightsaber and laser pistol.
- Well-Intentioned Extremist: Alex plans to make Marceline pay for everything she has done... by getting her position and blaming her for something she didn't do.
- Wham Line:
- From chapter 4: "When I become the new Vampire Queen, I'm gonna make you wish you never hurt my precious only ever ever again."
- From chapter 10: "The term is 'falling out', but I know how to make that simple for you two."
