Space is a very, very harsh environment. And for those boldly going where no one has gone before, some indeed don't come back. Even if, on occasion, there's a quantum quirk that permits death to somehow be transcended, at least for a while longer.

    • (In Klingon) "A fair shot, sir." Klingon bird-of-prey gunner, before being killed by Kruge, because he wanted prisoners.
    • "I'm sorry, sir. Just don't surrender. Genesis doesn't work. I can't believe they'd kill us for it." David Marcus, who dies when one of Kruge's henchmen kills him by stabbing him.
    • "Yes sir, but the bridge seems to be run by computer. It is the only thing speaking." Torg, before he dies on the Enterprise's bridge as she self destructs at the end of the countdown.
    • "Nine, eight, seven, six, five,..." The USS Enterprise, as she completes her self-destruct sequence. We cut away to an exterior view of the ship before she finishes.
    • "Give me Genesis!" Kruge, who dies when Kirk kicks him into lava as he says to him, "I... have had... enough of... you!".

    • "I couldn't help but notice your pain... It runs deep. Share it with me!" Sybok

    • "She's here... NO!" The Reman Viceroy, realizing that Troi's reaching into his mind to locate the Scimitar. He later dies when Riker throws him into a Bottomless Pit on the Enterprise-E.
    • "I'm glad we're together now. Our destiny's complete." Praetor Shinzon
    • "Goodbye." Lieutenant Commander Data. He gets better... sort of.

  • Star Trek (2009)
    • "Lieutenant! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" U.S.S. Kelvin Crewmember
    • "Stardate? 2233.04. Where are you from?" Captain Richard Robau, answering Ayel's question of what stardate this is. After asking "Where are you from?", Nero kills Robau by stabbing him with a spear.
    • "I love you so much. I love you-" Lieutenant George Kirk, to his wife Winona, as he crashes the Kelvin into the Narada to prevent it from shooting down the escape shuttles.
    • "1000 meters!" Chief Engineer Olsen, who pulls his parachute too late, resulting in a not so good landing, which results in him falling off the platform, and getting vaporized by the Romulan laser drill.
    • "You can't even speak. What?" Romulan henchman Ayel, just before being shot with his own phaser by Kirk. After telling him: "I got your gun!"
    • "I would rather suffer the end of Romulus a thousand times. I would rather die in agony than accept assistance from you." Nero, to which Kirk says "You got it" and opens fire on the Narada.

  • Star Trek Into Darkness
    • "We need an Air Defense Team. Daystrom Conference Room!" Christopher Pike, killed about a minute later by John Harrison/Khan, who was piloting a gunship.
    • "About what?" Section 31 mook on the Vengence, in response to Scotty saying "Sorry about this." before he opens the hatch, which sends the poor sap flying out to his doom in space.
    • "War is coming, and who's gonna lead us? You?! If I'm not in charge, our entire way of life is decimated! So, you want me off this ship? You better kill me." Admiral Alexander Marcus, killed shortly after by Khan, who takes over the ship.
    • "I wanted you to know why I couldn't let you die... why I went back for you..." Kirk, dying from radiation poisoning when he fixes the radiation-filled reactor to save the Enterprise, to which Spock responds, "Because you are my friend." Fortunately, Kirk gets better.

  • Star Trek Beyond
    • (through a translator device) "To save you. From yourselves." Jessica "Kalara" Woolf, in response to Kirk asking, "What does Krall want with this thing?". She dies when she's Squashed Flat by the saucer of the Enterprise's wreckage when it falls on her.
    • "Uhura!" Ensign Syl, before being disintegrated by the Abronath bioweapon.
    • (in alien language) "They will leave you here." Anderson "Manas" Le, who presumably dies when he's knocked off of a structure as Jaylah jumps so that she can teleport back to the U.S.S. Franklin with Kirk.
    • "NO!!!!!!!" Captain Balthazar "Krall" Edison, as he's sent flying out of Yorktown's airlock into space, resulting in his demise, and his corpse ends up being disintegrated by the Abronath bioweapon.
