Cartoon Hooligans

Robert TYL: For the uninformed, Cartoon Hooligans is Malaysia’s highest-rated superhero-based web animation channel which have some occasionally funny, mostly tolerable stuff, if you can stomach the perverted sense of humor and vulgar comedy. However, their uploads for April 2019, SPIDER-MAN'S PICKUP LINES- part 1 and part 2 (YES, I’m listing two videos in one entry. Technically it’s the same video anyway) just reeks of pure laziness. Both videos revolve around Spidey attempting to woo Black Widow with pick-up lines from Iron Man, only to have Black Widow and several lady Avengers beat him up for being a creep. Repeat next scene with some incredibly lame flirting scenes, replay the scene where Spidey gets beaten up, rinse and repeat, for 5 MINUTES. In TWO videos. Both these videos are a textbook example of a Youtube channel becoming too much of a success, until the creators believe they can just crap out whatever random nonsense because they’re guaranteed to get over a million views per video anyways. Its just lazy and unfunny to watch.
- But worse of all? Spiderman trying to flirt with Black Widow, only to hilariously backfire - Toon Sandwich already did this joke in The Stinger for their Spiderman: Homecoming trailer spoof 3 years earlier, and Toon Sandwich’s version of the joke in approximately 15 seconds ends up being funnier than Cartoon Hooligans’ 10 minutes.

Dorkly

Br3ndan 5: While I enjoy most of Dorkly's videos, Mario vs. The Pokemon World was just horrible. The video started off with some potential. After all, it's Mario in the Pokemon world! There's no way something horrifyingly gruesome could happen, right? Unfortunately, the video started to go downhill when Mario enters a Pokemon battle with a youngster. So Mario throws a Pokeball, and a Squirtle pops out. Then he stomps on the Squirtle and kicks the shell at the kid. Then after a time skip, it shows Mario wearing a Tanooki suit he got from murdering a Pokemon! Yes, because painting Mario as a sociopath is SO original and has never been done before! I quit watching by that point. If there's nothing funny in the video, and it's just gruesome and mean-spirited, why even watch it?
Teleport Ted: ''Who's Faster: Superman or The Flash?'': Superman abruptly becoming a Jerk Sue who cheats to win, ruins Flash's life, and invokes Karma Houdini by manipulating the media... as Disproportionate Retribution for Flash's Point that his "faster than the speed of light" sounds more impressive than Superman's "faster than a speeding bullet."
Pgj1997: Super Mario Undertale was a giant mess, in my opinion. It's exactly what you think it is; Mario ends up in the Underworld and thinks the mechanics of the Mario games work here. Surprise, they don't. It's basically what you'd expect from Dorkly at this point. One scene in particular really gets on my nerves. We see Mario and Sans in front of Papyrus' dead body, with Mario thinking he'd build himself back together like a Dry Bones and Sans having distraught look on his face. Now, this would be funny if it weren't for one big glaring issue. They spend almost 30 seconds on this gag, all leading up to no punchline. And this is one-third of the entire video. It's not funny, and Mario's obliviousness certainly doesn't make things better. Also, Mario killed Papyrus, like I mentioned, and earlier in the video, was able to kill Flowey... and yet he somehow got the Pacifist Ending. And these guys call themselves real gamers. So apparently, this video was made to celebrate Undertale's one-year anniversary since its initial Steam release. HA HA HA—No.
Big Jimbo: I've been pretty neutral of their videos (most of them are funny, but rely too much on giving Mario the Ron the Death Eater treatment,^note but one video titled "Mario is a MONSTER" or something qualifies as the worst as the title isn't even trying to be a witty parody and just feels like they sacrificed their wit for more "LOL Mario bad" videos.

Flashgitz

Senor Cornholio: I have recently warmed up to Racist Mario due to the voice clips being used in some of SMG4's videos (such as this one), but that doesn't change the fact that overall, this video is heavily flawed in more ways than one. I could go on about the unfunny jokes, the nonsensical plot, etc, but what I think makes the whole thing fall apart: the premise. Mario goes insane and starts killing everyone because of all the third-party characters in the current race. Why does this not work? Well firstly, because there has never been a third-party character in a main Mario Kart title. The DLC characters for Mario Kart 8 were all from other Nintendo franchises, and therefore first-party. Secondly, the characters themselves; Sonic may have been playable in several Sega-themed sports and racing titles, but the only time he crossed over with Nintendo itself was in Super Smash Bros., which would have actually been a better setting due to their own selection of third-party characters. And even then, Knuckles wasn't even playable so that's out. It's like some of these franchises were listed all because of their racing titles, with Anakin and Crash's head also being standout examples. Thirdly, speaking of Sony, was there an alternate universe I'm not aware of where Sony and Nintendo crossed over and Sackboy and Kratos were put into karts? I'll admit that Kratos driving a tiny kart is a funny sight, but what's the point? Ironically, there's one crossover that I doubt Flashgitz even knows he got right, and that's Pac-Man's head on a spear, since he was playable in the Arcade GP games developed by Namco-Bandai. Other than that, the rest of the references are shallow at best and make absolutely no sense at worst. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go watch the version where all the violence is replaced with The Nutshack. It's somehow way better.
Captain Tedium: The "TRANSformers" video had a lot of things about it that ticked me off, since it's basically about the Decepticons becoming social justice warriors to manipulate the Autobots into turning against and killing Optimus Prime, but the offending turd topping this excrement sundae was a very unfunny "cops are racist" joke where Prowl killed a black man on sight for no reason whatsoever.

GoAnimate

Murvine_Taylor: For me, my dethroning moment of GoAnimate would have to be this video of how Caillou became bald. I know that there are plenty of those out there, but I took offense to this one. In the video I mentioned, Boris gives Caillou cancer by taking him to Chernobyl and making him jump in a lake of radiation poison. Six months later, Caillou gets diagnosed with cancer from the poison and loses all his hair from the chemotherapy. What makes it worse is that Boris feels no remorse and acts as if it was not a big deal. Boris was not only a heartless person (like he always is), but this video could offend people with cancer and their loved ones.

GradeAUnderA

Izzy 1: To be honest, GradeAUnderA's video "THE YOUTUBERS COMPLAINING ABOUT DRAMA RANT (Exposing Matthew Santoro)" rubbed me the wrong way, specifically the part where he insulted Markiplier. Now, before you make assumptions, I don't follow Markiplier or watch his stuff, but the fact that Grade was insulting him based on his appearance (having dyed red hair) and for calling himself "Markimoo" (which I heard is something his fans call him) rather than what he actually had to say was disappointing. And when he addressed this in his followup video saying that nobody is immune to criticism, I had 2 problems with that: 1. He was completely missing the point of why people were mad at him, for the most part, thinking that people were mad because Markiplier dyed his hair, initially pink for charity and later red out of respect for a dead friend, and saying he shouldn't be immune to criticism as a result, especially since Mark apparently caused more drama with his video. While I'm not sure if that's true, I think I can say that a lot of people, myself included, were more miffed about the way you attacked him for petty reasons, rather than that. 2. He makes a huge point about saying that everyone should be open to criticism, yet on Reddit, he tried to delete a thread criticizing him for getting "annoyed" by it. Honestly, I was starting to like this guy's content, but these events turned me off from his videos.
shonengirl: Hoo boy, his Pokémon video... It's hard to point out one moment in particular, but it's basically a series of "jokes" (I think) that have already been beaten up to death, revived, HM 01'd into tiny pieces, beat up again, horn drilled, and incinerated. And I seriously couldn't tell if it was all supposed to be a bunch of jokes or not due to many of the "jokes" (mainly "hurdy durr Pokeymanz is animal abuse!") being things said with complete seriousness before, and it comes off a lot like some cringy "scrub" ranting about something he knows nothing about, or at least has never played since gen I. The blatant Critical Research Failure all over the place was just painful to sit through, so much so I had to skip through tiny segments of it. This was especially jarring since he pulled up the gen I manual, something only hardcore fans usually do, and actually knew that Red is 11... But yet calls Red "Ash", something that no Pokemon fan over 12 would ever do, and he should be relieved that he wasn't swarmed by rabid Red fans by some miracle. If those were jokes, they weren't funny. It doesn't help that the description made me put my hopes up. The only things that were good or new were the bit about him actually getting Red and Blue's ages right, and the mocking of the deviation of game text from what's said in the manual. Everything else is just so cliche and overdone, and I expect more from him. Not to mention it feels like he's trying to jump on the hype train of second wave Pokemania because he can, and free cash.

Happy Tree Friends

Melancholy Utopia: I'm a former fan of Happy Tree Friends, but even back when I liked it, I couldn't stand the episode "Tongue in Cheek". The thing I often give HTF credit for is that most deaths are so absurd and logic-defying it's difficult to get offended; that most deaths are quick and painless, and if they're not, it's either not dragged on for too long or the characters aren't shown suffering too much. I can't say the same for this episode. Sniffles was never my favourite character, but this episode just took everything too far. To sum this abomination up, he invents a helmet that mind controls the holder, but surprise surprise, his arch enemies, the dreaded ants, get a hold of it and use it on him. What follows is truly brutal even for HTF standards; they force him to eat an apple with razor blades on it and use a propeller to pull his organs out of his snout. Did I mention that during all this time, he screams and cries in agony like it isn't acting? Then, in the end, they use his corpse as their new home. This episode convinces me that there are lines that shouldn't ever be crossed, even for a show relying solely on gory humor. I only watched this episode once, and never plan to see it again.
Bobg- For me, it's the YouTube Copyright School video. It's an officially endorsed YouTube video featuring the HTFs as YouTube tries to teach the viewers about copyright. The problem? The whole video! To start off, the video, created by YouTube officials to explain their copyright system, flat-out lies at certain points. For example, the narrator at one point claims that the website will only take down a video that has a copyright claim on it if the claim turns out to be legit. Bullshit! YouTube has an unfair guilty until proven innocent stance of taking down videos immediately after the claims are filed without even bothering to see if the claimant even actually has ownership of the alleged copyright, forcing the defendant to make a claim of innocence and then prove it, during which they will be forced to have a strike on their account. When YouTube made this video, they flat-out lied about this to make themselves look better. When people in the comments section of the video called YouTube out on this lie, along with the many other flaws and lies featured in the video, YouTube officials blocked the comments to censor criticism. The video also ignores the fact that videos can be falsely flagged and taken down even if they are entirely original. It also paints Russel as a smarmy copyright thief. Russel, in this video, is meant to represent the viewer. Worst of all, despite everything wrong with the video's information and the hate it has generated, YouTube forces you to watch it if you get a copyright strike. It also forces you to take a copyright quiz, even though the video does not actually tell you anything that will help with the quiz. Pro tip; if you get a strike, ignore the video and look up the answers to the quiz online. There are videos that give out the answers.

SMG4's Super Mario 64 Bloopers

MeerkatMario: If there was one Supermarioglitchy4's Super Mario 64 Bloopers episode which had to be an entire DMoS for me, it has to be "The Idea Block". Mostly not because of the plot or story elements or whatsoever, but because of how bad the editing was. Brief graphical tint changes in the background and the characters, Sony Vegas text presets being overused, stretched Garry's Mod clips, that was how bad I considered the editing to be. And not just that, but the angry mob, too. Seriously, I consider this the worst SMG4 video I ever saw. At least "Castle Royale", which was the following video, was better. Because if it wasn't, then I would've unsubscribed SMG4.
Cauchy Rerun When: The tail end of SMG4's Anime Arc, namely, Desti's death in World War Mario and the resulting consequences in Final Hours had to be this for me. Sure, the series has lost its grip from time to time, such as adding more anime appeal characters, sponsoring recent games, going down Darker and Edgier paths, such as the Waluigi Arc, but overall stayed what it was in quality; a stupid, weird, goofy, and funny show that used memes effectively instead of shoehorning them in, and one that had writing of surprisingly high quality. That changed at an unbelievably rapid pace after these episodes. The whole gist of this part was that Desti became a main character for a time, but then died, yes, died, in a series that utilizes Death Is Cheap frequently, at the end of the arc. Little to no character development was given to Desti, making her death nothing but a warning that things were going to change for the worse. Take Saiko-chan, a similar character, and how she developed: Yandere (first appearance) and/or Deadpan Snarker (post Luigi's Lesson) -> Jerk with a Heart of Gold (Mario and the Diss Track and onwards.) Desti? Dick -> slightly less of a dick -> Dead. Compounding the problem were three more things. First was that Desti was given only two episodes for people to get to know her other than the unholy fusion of The Rival and Alpha Bitch, which isn't a lot of time. The Lerds also seemed to make little effort on their part. And lastly, Desti effectively still amounted to a minor character in her short stint, getting a paltry five episodes total. What ticks me off a little bit about this is that the bros. didn't have the guts to kill off a major character instead, such as Meggy or Saiko-Chan, which, while taking out a major component of the cast, would create a much larger impact. That's the thing about characters: they're kind of like selling Mons in games such as PAD or Crash Fever. The gacha-only ones net you more coins and MP (or their respective equivalent) much like utilizing Killed Off for Real on a main character will create a greater, lasting effect, whereas selling quest monsters will only net you a tiny bit of MP and coins, much like killing a minor character will likely cause audiences to be apathetic about it, so one has to choose wisely, whether they want to use it in battle, or use it for their own gain. Overall, the episode was one that left a bad taste in my mouth and one that left me feeling betrayed and disappointed in Luke and Kevin. They've done much more wonderful things in the past, such as the Waluigi arc. And the aftermath of the DMOS? Not good. The humor began to become more juvenile, to pander towards the rapidly growing kid fanbase, and lean towards the "umpteen minutes of Forced Meme spam" detractors say the show is, plots of standard episodes became more shallow, it was never explained how Meggy became the thing she is now, and the certain adult quality that added to the humor began to drip away slowly but surely, as there were less references to sex, drugs, censoring all or most swear words, etc, ultimately dooming the show to that of a great many others; to become a soulless, rotting husk of itself that would only get worse as time goes on. If this is what we can expect, it breaks my heart to say I don't expect much of Meta Runner.
JMRS: The Genesis Arc is an amazing arc and I love it to death, but this arc has just one episode that completely rubs me the wrong way, and that episode is Doomsday but Mario is Okay. The reasons why I don't like this episode include the fact that SMG4 didn't even bother to bring any food for everyone, except for what seemed to be only one simple can of vegetable ramen. I get that he may have been in a rush to get a bunker built for everyone to hide in while Chris and Swag try to destroy SMG0's USB, but he should have at least thought to bring some food in case nobody thought to bring their own, which brings me to my next problem: Boopkins has some chocolate with him and Mario tries to take it from him. Then, when Meggy tells Mario off for stealing his chocolate, she starts trying to eat it instead of giving it back to Boopkins, ultimately culminating in Saiko keeping the chocolate with her instead of giving it back to its rightful owner. Speaking of Meggy and Mario, I found their feud really annoying in this episode. Mario has been shown to be one of Meggy's best friends in the series, even going so far as to help her win Splatfest! Here, however, all of that character development and heartwarming friendship gets tossed out of the window for the sake of this poorly thought-out fight between them that was caused over something as simple as a piece of confectionery. However, the worst thing about this episode has to be the ending. It turns out that everyone forgot to tell Luigi about the fact that they were going to nuke Peach's castle, thus leaving him to walk towards the castle with some board games and get blown up, which also doesn't make sense considering that he was with the group at the end of the previous episode, "The Day HE Arrived" to see SMG0's USB floating above Peach's castle so you'd think that he would have heard SMG4's plan to have a nuke blow up the USB, a plan that ultimately didn't work, by the way. About the only significance this episode has to me is Mario, SMG4 and Axol being captured by SMG0. Everything else about it is pointless at best and irritating at worst, especially the ending that made me, someone who has a soft spot for Luigi, cringe really badly.
Cabbit Girl Emi: After seeing "If Mario Was the Last Man on Earth", I eventually realized that it blew the bad moments like Mario making an omelet out of a Yoshi egg in "The Mario Cafe" out of the water. The premise starts off interesting as Mario's friends have gone missing, but then we find out why- it's because Mario accidentally ruined his friends' attempt at making a world record pizza. Really? Mario has done much worse in the past decade like that aforementioned Yoshi omelet incident, as well as being an Unwitting Pawn for a few of the arcs' Big Bads, but accidentally ruining a world record pizza is where the line is drawn?

Other

JHN: I'm not really speaking for myself, but for The Escapist. Game Dogs, a Work Com about three dogs who work in a gaming company, had a Tonight, Someone Dies event. In the episode, two side characters kill off the female lead, with jokes centered around whether it was legal to kill her or not. The fanbase felt that playing death for laughs & the amount of gore featured felt unpleasant, even for those who enjoy Black Comedy. In The Stinger, Roger - The Smart Guy, kills himself because he felt unhappy being in company, with no signs of it before, causing Fridge Logic. Note that the characters were somewhat well-liked compared to the main character, Chet, who was considered The Scrappy (no pun intended). Saying it was not funny would be an understatement, even offending those who liked the Good Troi Episode, "Knives-R-Us".
ilovedededeAGAIN: If one DMOS had to come out in Super Mario Bros. Z, then that would definitely be the scene in Episode 7 where Mario and Sonic are warped to the Minus World. It starts fine enough until Kolorado and Goombella appear out of nowhere and sass up the scene. The icing on the cake though is when Goombella becomes very sassy about fighting Mecha Sonic. Alvin Earthworm would have known to do better if his fans complained.
- SenorCornholio: I have to agree, but for different reasons. Goombella acting sassy is perfectly fine; it was her character in her home game, after all, and I liked her there. My problem is that she contributes absolutely nothing narrative-wise; Kolorado, who's undoubtedly less of a fighter than Goombella, contributed more to the situation when his stopwatch accidentally reversed the Minus World's effects. Goombella, on the other hand, does little more than land one Headbonk on Mecha Sonic that might as well amount to a pebble being thrown at a titanium golem, and her Tattle ability only serves to repeat the "Over 9,000" joke from the last episode, complete with Lampshade Hanging. So, in short, Goombella did nothing of worth that would benefit anyone, And That's Terrible.
fluffything: Normally, I enjoy the Spill crew and their film reviews. Well, I decided to check out a spin-off series they had called "Happy Hour", which is basically an LP series. Fair enough. But, the DMOS came in when one of the commenters stated that Mario Party 9 was (paraphrased) "One of those games where you just have to push a button that you play while wearing a helmet that your mom makes you wear all the time so you don't get hurt." Let that sink in a moment. They were pretty much implying that only mentally challenged people enjoy ''Mario Party'' games. Not only is this an insult to people in general who like/play the Mario Party games (The Runaway Guys, anyone?), but it's also an insult to people of various mental disabilities as well.
Dokemon Studios: Now, I enjoy Sonic Shorts, and there's always at least one or two shorts that would make me laugh a lot, even in the weaker episodes. But the last short in Volume 3 just left a bad taste in my mouth, specifically, the ending where after Froggy leaves Big the Cat, Big hangs himself with his own fishing rod! Disregarding the fact that the string or that tree branch would break, due to Big's weight, it's actually more horrifying than the Tails doll shorts! Seriously, I know people don't like Big, and neither do I, but that ending was just unnecessary and mean-spirited, and can just be easily cut out.
Light Tiger Grand Prix: In my opinion, Yo Mama has long since run its course, but it's still harmless, and I can see people still getting laughs out of it. Then they made one out of Club Penguin. What's the joke here? Your mama is so stupid, she thought Club Penguin was about literally clubbing penguins. What. The. Fudgeripple. This joke is just needlessly cruel because they don't have the penguins get clubbed in a slapstick cartoon way like a casual viewer would expect from the channel. Instead, we get a bunch of bloodstained penguins having been killed by one of those barbed wire-covered baseball bats you see poachers use to kill seals. And while I do enjoy things like Robot Chicken, they at least put their wit into their deconstructions. The joke here is just, "ha ha, we graphically mutilated your childhood!" But even taking that out of it, this is just another example of Yo Mama using popular games to stay relevant. And it wasn't even timed well - this joke came a month after the closure of the game! Overall, this is just a mean-spirited stinker of a joke and I hope they don't do this again.
- Doctorpig: I totally agree with you. It blows my mind that a series goes from swearing and sex jokes to pandering to young children. If there was one joke I would have to say my least favourite is their joke about Ricegum. What was this joke that warranted hours of work to make? "Yo mama's so ugly, Ricegum wouldn't make a diss track on her". Are you kidding me? What human sat down and thought that this joke was good? I just can't understand it in the slightest. Why is Ricegum afraid of making a diss track on ugly people? I bet he would have a field day writing scripts and calling people like iDubbbzTV and Jake Paul out on their appearance. At least the Club Penguin joke actually made sense. This, on the other hand, makes me feel sick to my stomach.
Big Jimbo: Oh, Animator vs. Animation. Why did it have to come to this? I want to enjoy you, you do have some funny videos, but you just have some mediocrities that leave a very sour taste in my mouth. While the last straw was when someone on the comment section of a video said it was better than anime,^note the "PvP" episode of the "Animation vs. Minecraft" series was what put a massive dent to my enjoyment of the series. The moment of one of the stickfigs destroying another one's winning entry in the building contest with TNT was petty and bad enough, but the moment that left the most bitter taste in my mouth is one of the very first moments of the PvP battle that breaks between the stickfigs because they want to build different things. Yes, they did fight on the fourth video, but that was their "job" on that website. Here it seems they're out for blood (so to speak), over something that could be solved more easily via reasoning with each other.^note No offense to you, Alan, but it felt pretty wrong that the characters casually swept their friendship under the rug for these petty reasons and stuff. Add in the aforementioned attack comment, and it all adds up to something so off-putting that I can't even watch the original, the "AvA" tetralogy, and the Command Block video (the ones left for me to enjoy) because this will be recommended below.
GF 93: Don't get me wrong, I think 1 Minute Melee is a very good series for the most part, but my personal DMOS has to go to "Zero vs. Meta Knight". It was a great idea for a fight for various reasons (The two not only both being sword-wielding mentors and friendly rivals to the main heroes of their respective franchises, but also being very popular and badass characters in their own right), so it'd be a great episode for either this series or a DEATH BATTLE!, right? Sadly not. It was a massive disappointment in several respects, and just overall reeked of wasted potential. The fight itself was very pedestrian for the series' usual fast-paced and exciting standards, with neither favorite character (Especially Meta Knight, who is limited to only if not for his basic swordplay to use his Super Smash Bros. moves or abilities despite using the same voice and appearance from there) really being able to do anything much considering their usual amount of powers and abilities that could have come into play, and the animation was nothing spectacular. Dishonorable mention, however, has to go to the ending, for the sheer amount of Out of Character-ness abound from both characters. Zero uses the Rekkoha to summon lightning, Meta Knight Screams Like a Little Girl (Despite him normally being The Stoic and never reacting to anything in such a way in his own series) and lets his guard down, allowing Zero to inflict a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown which ends with him stabbing Meta Knight through the face with his Z-Saber, before slashing upward to bisect him vertically, with blood splattering across the ground from each the two halves. Not only is it needlessly graphic and brutal for a series whose fights don't normally end in death, but it goes completely against Zero's established character, who outright refuses to kill sentient living beings. With that in mind, he could have easily knocked Meta Knight's sword out of his hand and then sliced his mask off from there, which would have been a nice Call-Back to how he's defeated in the Kirby series. The worst part, however, had to be Zero's Bond One-Liner afterward, quipping "Just like a training program" to the camera with a big smile and a "^_^" expression on his face as if he didn't just commit a brutal murder, before just warping away without so much as a second thought about what he'd done. Again, the canon Zero would never do that. Thankfully, they did redeem themselves later on with the next episode (Bowser vs. Doctor Eggman), but even now, it just leaves a bitter taste with the disrespect shown to both characters. In closing- there's "No Research", and then there's just being inexcusably ignorant. At least with Hercule Satan vs. Dan Hibiki being redone as a Death Battle, there could hopefully be the possibility of it happening with this match as well to properly do the two characters justice.
King of Nightmares: I usually enjoy the Something About series, but Something About Super Metroid Animated Speedrun left a bad taste in my mouth. Specifically, it was fine until the ending, which gives you two cards linking to unlisted videos, one for letting the Etecoons and Dachora (which I will collectively refer to as the animals) die and one for saving them. The video for letting the animals die shows Samus leaving them behind and gives us a sequence of the animals failing to escape the planet as it explodes, which I find to be genuinely uncomfortable to watch in an otherwise comedic series. And sure, the ending does call you a monster for choosing this ending, but that's not the worst part. That's for when you actually do choose to save them. A heartwarming scene of Samus saving the animals is subverted when it turns out that the animals were actually X Copies the entire time and morph into monsters that nearly kill Samus and get her stranded on another planet. And sure, the cast of Star Fox does rescue her from this fate, but it doesn't change the fact that the option of letting the animals die is the better one. Saying this as someone who always saves the animals when I play Super Metroid, this angered me, and it's even worse because, in Metroid Fusion, the Adam AI outright says that the animals aren't X Copies, making the twist in the video for saving the animals a straight up Ass Pull. While it doesn't ruin the whole series for me, it is, without a doubt, my least favorite entry.
- DevNameless: Seconded. The twist that the X Parasite twist in the Save the Animals ending is one of the few times I've ever really had a problem with Something About. I get that it was probably a parody of one of the biggest research errors in the history of Game Theory, but it still does leave a sour note to an otherwise fairly solid entry.
SRE 89: The fate of the Canopy Tribe from Confinement was too sadistic and mean-spirited for my taste, and this is coming from a guy who watches South Park, Drawn Together, Happy Tree Friends, and at times, Family Guy. I didn't like the fact that Lord Bung decided to use Merging Mistake on the Canopy Tribe, especially Steth. And I also didn't like that Connor asked Tallboy to break his neck while merged to get away from Steth, since Lord Bung knew that there were people who shipped Connor With Steth, and not only that, after the scene it shows Connor and Natalie making out passionately in an elevator, which I felt like it was a major Take That! to people who paired Connor with Steth. I don't understand why Lord Bung has Connor as a Chick Magnet in the first place if he is only going to focus on Connor and Natalie. In fact, I don't understand the Western version of the Chick Magnet period since the western version of the Chick Magnet is only interested/interacts with only one girl, while the Japanese Chick Magnet usually interacts with all the girls who are interested in him and he either is with all the girls or it is left ambiguous at the end of the series, and the Western version of this trope is also one of the reasons why I don't like Scott Pilgrim either. I could have seen Connor having a Love Triangle with Natalie and Steth. Hell, a harem with Steth, Natalie, and Sanna even. I just thought what happened to Steth and the rest of the Canopy Tribe was one of the most tasteless and cruelest "jokes" that I have seen in my life. And I have a feeling that Lord Bung is either going to kill off or mutate more women who are interested in Connor just to piss people off. And another thing, if Lord Bung wanted to write out the Canopy Tribe, why couldn't he have used how SCP Foundation uses amnesics on those who have left SCP-3008 since that is what is supposed to happen in the original article on SCP-3008? Also, that scene also made Connor look like a sociopath and heartless, and then there is the fact that how Connor interacted with both Natalie and Steth is hypocritical. For example, Natalie had a Love at First Sight moment with Connor when he was being experimented with SCP-407 and the fact that she was a Nightmare Fetishist when she said that she didn't know that SCP-031 could transform, and as a reminder, SCP-031 is a shapeshifter who can transform into anyone's sexual desire based on preference, and since she saw SCP-031 in its regular form, it implies that weird and disturbing things are kinks of hers. But when Steth did Love at First Sight with Connor and also was a Nightmare Fetishist, Connor, for some reason, felt uncomfortable. And now that Steth was discovered to have a medical anomaly in her brain, I have this feeling that she is going to end up as a Brain in a Jar, get experimented on, and become a villain while Connor and Natalie will be portrayed as Sickeningly Sweethearts in the same vain as Kataang, Korrasami, and Bella/Edward are, which I see those pairings as examples of bad writing, and then in some future episode Natalie either gets captured and/or harmed, and Connor goes One-Winged Angel mode wrecking the Foundation and Natalie does a Cooldown Hug on him, which is very anti-climatic and cliched. I feel like this is Bryke all over again, whom I also have a problem with since I see those two as douchebag hacks. I already downvoted the Youtube video, and now, I don't know if I am going to continue watching Confinement because of this. I am okay with Black Comedy, but the Merging Mistake and the Body Horror that happened to the Canopy Tribe in that episode was this show's Dethroning Moment of Suck. I like Confinement, but to be a fan of something, you have to criticize it, especially if, in my opinion, it had such a tasteless and unfunny scene!
VanillaLime: Helluva Boss is an....ok web toon. I don’t find many of the jokes funny, but I can appreciate the animation and some of the character chemistry. Needless to say, C.H.E.R.U.B. is possibly the worst episode of Helluva Boss Spindlehorse has produced so far. There are multiple reasons why I think this, but what I believe deserves the “dethroning award” was the sequence of C.H.E.R.U.B. trying to get old man Lyle to appreciate beauties of life, only for everything to go wrong either by random circumstance or I.M.P. being complete jerks making things go wrong on purpose. Lasting from the gruesome animal violence to the opera thing where they kill the singing lady. This sequence feels like it’s trying to channel the type of dark, cynical comedy you’d find in Invader Zim, except it lacks the kind of dumb charm Invader Zim had, plus I don’t recall IZ even going as far as to involve convincing a character to commit suicide. Yes, I get that I.M.P. aren’t good people; they’re demons, after all. Not to mention Lyle’s not a great person himself. But this felt way too mean-spirited, even for them (though I suppose they did an indirect good thing by exposing Santa as a pedophile). They should’ve shot at Lyle and be done with the job, and I’m surprised none of the imps brought doing this up. Heck, I think this episode would’ve been more funny if it had the imp trio trying multiple ways to kill Lyle, only for the angels to smugly ruin their assassination attempts in a Looney Tunes-like manner, much to their anger. Instead, we get the “SEE HOW BAD AND STUPID THE WORLD IS, GUYS?” shockfest. I’m surprised at how patient the angels were with the imps throughout the episode, and I don’t blame them for snapping near the end. Should C.H.E.R.U.B. and I.M.P. have a conflict again in a future episode, I’ll definitely be rooting for C.H.E.R.U.B.
- Reginald Ogron 5: Not to mention that they had plenty of time to shoot Lyle before the Cherubs arrived, that they had no reason to go along with their attempt at reforming him since he was already going to go to Hell and seriously, why didn't they just unload every single weapon they had into him the second they saw him? And don't give me any of that "there wouldn't be an episode" crap, that's not an excuse! Even the worst aspects of Season 2 have been better than this episode so far, thank god.
- Regulas 314: I have to agree. I am not the biggest fan of Vivziepop's work. But I can admire the animation, voice acting and chemistry with the characters. This episode though, is sick. I understand it wants to do like Invader Zim and do dark, cynical humor and extreme violence but this feels more like Mr. Pickles in terms of its execution and bleakness. The Cherubs do not deserve what they got. Making the world seem like the most horrible and unpleasant place imaginable felt sloppy at the best of times and made me sad at the worst of it. How, is any of this supposed to be funny? And If I.M.P. was hired to kill Lyle, why didn’t they just peg him in the skull and get it over with? Why drag this out? There’s lots of ways you can make this premise work, but pure cynicism is not the way to go. I honestly do not want to see more of this show ever again.
Cabbit Girl Emi: Apparently, The Mysterious Mr. Enter plans to take down Seth Mac Farlanes Cavalcade Of Cartoon Comedy, so in advance, I watched about 50 minutes' worth of skits to see how bad they could be, and wow... While skits such as "Cat Staff Meeting" were funny, others, ESPECIALLY "Quentin Tarantino Performs a Circumcision" were just awful. This specific skit involves Tarantino at a bris, using a katana to circumcise a baby. As this happens, blood flies everywhere as the baby wails. Very, very thankfully, the baby is fine (somehow), at the cost of me being left horrified by this. The moment the baby started crying, I couldn't help but cringe. I know about Tarantino's reputation for Crossing the Line Twice at times, but there are some boundaries that you shouldn't cross!
RWBYraikou888: I've heralded Inanimate Insanity as my favorite Object Show ever since Cerebus Syndrome hit with II2, and even after Inanimate Insanity Invitational went for a Lighter and Softer approach, I've felt as though it still managed to maintain its strong sense of characterization. However, I feel as though the show ended up Jumping the Shark with "Spring on the Breakfast". Much like how I felt "A Taste of Space" pushed my Willing Suspension of Disbelief with Battle for Dream Island too far, this episode does the same for Inanimate Insanity. The Light Shimmers are a concept I could get behind due to their relevance to Meeple, but Springy is a character who I feel ends up breaking all sense of cohesion within the show, and feels like a forced way to give Bot their sense of closure, when there were plenty of more grounded and sensible ways of doing so. While I could give "A Taste of Space" a pass due to BFDI being a much more episodic series, II has established itself to be a serialized work, making the suddenness of "Spring of the Breakfast" stick out like a sore thumb, and just feels like the team at AnimationEpic were running out of ways to make the show feel fresh, when sticking to what they've already done would've been a perfectly acceptable way of moving the show forward.
- Mitsy 56: In my opinion, it started to jump the shark shortly after Title TBD, I think what made my Willing Suspension of Disbelief fade was Pesty Besties, with the introduction of the Inani-mates. There was no explanation as to where they came from or what exactly they were, and how they basically came into existence for a challenge. And all of them (sans Bot's Inani-mate, who was hiding for most of the episode) explode in the same episode they were introduced, hastily throwing them out once they weren't seen as useful by the show.
