Crazy Jealous Guys in Fan Works.
Crossovers
- In Ace Of Spades, a Slash Fic which pairs the Joker and Harry Potter, the Joker becomes jealous of the time Harry spends with Bruce Wayne and of the attention Harry gives to stalking Jim Gordon, and feels the need to "teach Harry a lesson".
- In Code: Half Demon, Inuyasha gets jealous of Odd flirting with Kagome.
- Odd gets slightly jealous of Inuyasha having powers in real life, but gets over it as if nothing happened.
- In The Flower Princess and the Alchemist: Edward is this in regards to his Love Interest Orihime. To the point of where guys even looking at her the wrong way, or what he perceives to be the wrong way, causes his temper to flare. He even bought and destroyed all the magazines Orihime modeled in just because other men might see pictures of her. He tries to justify his jealous rage by saying he doesn't want her to end up with a guy who doesn't treat her right, but nobody buys it. The only person who remains unaware is Orihime herself.
- Later on, Edward finally admits how much of a Crazy Jealous Guy he is towards Orihime in a speech that's a mix of Shut Up, Hannibal! and Green-Eyed Epiphany.
- In they'll name a city after us, the sun god Apollo falls in love with Gender Flip Percy Jackson. He is insanely jealous of anyone she has even the slightest interaction with. He particularly hates the ones that make her laugh and the ones that she offers emotional support to. One of the people he is the most jealous of is his own brother Hermes. After Hermes lost his son Luke, who was Percy's friend turned enemy, Percy sympathized with his grief and offered him words of comfort. Apollo is insanely jealous that it was Hermes she consoled and not him, to the point that he wants to put an arrow through his brother's throat. While Apollo as well lost several of his children in the same battle Luke died, Hermes was the one that was outwardly showing grief. So it was not that Percy prefers Hermes, but she was being a decent person and consoling an openly grieving parent.
- Peter and Edmund Pevensie are often portrayed as being overly protective of their sisters, Peter usually over Susan and Edmund almost always over Lucy.
- In Danganronpa Reimagined: The Return to Hope's Peak Academy, this becomes a motive for murder, as the culprit hopes to gain the attention and affection of Sayaka after seeing how she was close to Makoto.
- In All You Need Is Love Light is this for Naomi Misora and L is this for Light in part of a Psychotic Love Dodecahedron.
- Light in the Slash Fic A Cure for Love. When Mello drops by late one night for a clandestine meeting with L, Light immediately becomes suspicious that L is cheating on him.
- Light in Fever Dreams after Light saves L from his plan and gives up on being Kira, L dumps him because he fears their relationship is corrupting the investigation:
- L in the Slash Fic Low Light where L is corrupted by the notebook and becomes a Fetishized Abuser to Light. He is very possessive of Light and becomes jealous when Light is spending so much time with Matsuda.
- In Monster, after Light "recovers" L, he carves the letter L into his hip. L understands that Light isn't writing "L" as in his name, but L as in "property of Light." Also when Misa kills L in a jealous rage, Light brings him Back from the Dead with the death eraser because Light did not give him permission to die.
- Light in the Slash Fic Office Politics to hilarious effect. When L breaks up with Light, he finds that the God of the New World does not take rejection well.
- Light for L in The Prince Of Death: Light becomes insanely jealous when L is paying more attention to Naomi Misora than to him, so in order to regain L's attention, he provokes a (cat)fight with Naomi by informing the room full of cops that he's the original Kira (knowing there is nothing they can do about it because he's become a literal God of Death).
- Moto in The Lion King Adventures, who is jealous of Simba and Nala's close friendship. He makes a deal with Hago in order to appear irresistible to Nala. It works incredibly well, resulting in Nala breaking off her friendship with Simba so she can be with Moto. He later realizes the error of his ways, however, and everything is restored to normal.
- Add is this combined with Stalker with a Crush towards Eve in Sibling Love. He was willing to beat Elsword senseless for the crime of stealing Eve's affections.
- Fate/Black Dawn: While Shirou is normally an infamous Nice Guy, Morgan le Faye is amused to discover that he's also the jealous type. She enjoys watching him politely destroy men who flirt with her.
- Lies and his wife Truth: Oberon, the Summer King of the British Lostbelt, is described as very possessive of his wife Titania (an amnesiac Ritsuka Fujimaru that ended up in the past and got trapped with the identity of the Fairy Queen just like her husband Vortigern). Just speaking or even being in her presence is enough for Oberon to banish them from his kingdom. Then again, as da Vinci puts in her report to the other Chaldea staff, several fairies go out of their way to antagonize Oberon to claim his wife and see Titania more of a treasure to be "shared" with all fairies than an individual capable of making her own decision. Many readers also point out that the Fae from Lostbelt 6 won't be pleasant when it comes to "sharing" Titania as seen in canon, so Oberon has some ground in being protective.
- One of the most common portrayals in the fanon anime version depicts Flippy - who is an Ax-Crazy, psychotic murderer in Canon- as an Yandere for Flaky. The canon episode Without A Hitch plays with it a bit, because Flippy constantly follows Flaky around, trying to be nice to her, while she is so terrified of him, that she tries to get rid of him at all costs.
- crawlersout: Tom Riddle hates the idea of Fem!Harry ever marrying and being forced to share her with another man. Of course, he doesn't realize the romantic implications of his thoughts, being a child and all. It's heavily implied that his future alternate counterpart Lord Voldemort was the same way with Harry, and she was just deliberately and selectively oblivious to the romantic/sexual aspect of his obsession. It also partially explains why he and Gellert Grindelwald have Hate at First Sight — Tom can instantly tell that Grindelwald isn't like her other suitors (being every bit as obsessed with Harry as Tom is), while Grindelwald knows that Tom will always be the most important person in Harry's life.
- Teenage Tom Riddle from 1942 in Fate's Favourite is incredibly possessive and obsessive of Harry. At first it's just because Harry is interesting, and later because he counts Harry as the first real friend he's ever had (on account of Tom being a clinical psychopath who generally just uses people and doesn't feel anything for anyone but himself, but he feels something for Harry). This is lampshaded by other characters, who take to referring to Tom as Harry's "jealous boyfriend." Tom mentions in passing that he's more than willing to watch the whole world burn if it means he can spend more time with Harry, and he will eliminate any perceived threats that may come between them.
- Tom acts like this towards Ginny in The Very Secret Diary if she goes too long without talking to him. His intentions aren't romantic, but the subtext is very much intentional.
- It's actually very common in Hetalia fic. For example, the already unstable Russia is very frequently tuned into this over either America or Lithuania, to the point of abusing and/or raping them.
- England also becomes this very often: the infamous fic The Chosen End twisted England into a Crazy Jealous Guy to make him "less worthy" of America's affections, while compared to a leather-pantsed Russia. (And this doesn't count a Revenge Fic by the same author, in which England is a crazy Yandere who abuses a spineless America.)
- America himself isn't free of this either, even in arts/fics/etc. that make him the chosen love interest. Depending on the fanwork, he can go from silently and passive-aggressively watching (insert: England, Russia, etc.) interact with other nations while stewing in his own jealousy, to pretty much tackling the nation he loves and dubcon/noncon ravishing him/her after seeing him with others.
- In regards to the Nyotalia boys, male!Belarus is made into this over female!Russia since the original Belarus is already a Clingy Jealous Girl to the original Russia. His behavior tends to be different, though: while Belarus tends to be openly clingy and obsessive over her brother in canon, male!Belarus is portrayed as being overprotective and insanely passive-aggressive over his sister.
- Germany and Japan over Italy in Gankona, Unnachgiebig, Unità. They even ended up in a heated fight over him. If Italy hadn't intervened, it would have become a case of Murder the Hypotenuse.
- In an apparently lost fic, Denmark was a total Crazy Jealous Guy over Norway. To the point that he had sex with him in front of Norway's brother Iceland to "teach" Iceland that Norway was his boyfriend.
- In Tutoring Arnold, Arnold learns about Brainy having a crush on Helga. Then she admits that if Arnold was never in the picture, she might have actually reciprocated Brainy's feelings, causing Arnold to develop a much deeper dislike for the other boy.
- In The Vow, as Lord Shen's love for Lady Lianne grows, so does his possessiveness over her. When he hears that she's engaged to Lord Juan thirty years since his exile, he immediately returns to take over Gongmen City and murders Juan, planning to complete his marriage to Lianne.
- In Keitaro The Savant, Keitaro manages to impress a woman with a sandcastle he had built, which unfortunately earns him the ire of her boyfriend.
- The Story of Apollo, Daphne and Luca: An Italian Tragedy: Vincenzo, the school's Big Jerk on Campus, has a massive crush on Giulia and is not happy at all that she is so close to Luca. In the second chapter, he cruelly mocks Luca for how he wrote his Love Letter for Alberto and later uses it to blackmail the poor boy to get him a date with Giulia by threatening him to tell the whole school about his crush on Alberto.
- Played for Laughs in Crimson and Noire regarding the Fox Kwami Trixx for his partner Master Fu, especially towards Wayzz. Since Fu almost picked Wayzz as his partner like he did in canon, Trixx doesn't like Fu using Wayzz's power or even fusing their powers together. This is despite the fact that it was Wayzz who suggested that Fu picked Trixx since their contrasting personalities would be beneficial towards each other. That doesn't stop Trixx from being protective of Fu from the turtle.
- Juleka vs. the Forces of the Universe plays with this: Chat Noir suspiciously glares at Purple Tigress when they're introduced, as he doesn't like Ladybug bringing any other heroes into play. He then decides that her being a girl makes her no real threat, and starts treating her the same way he does Ladybug: dismissively, getting in her personal space, flirting with her, and refusing to listen to anything she says during battle. He subsequently learns the hard way that she doesn't need to be a romantic threat at all; simply the fact that she works with Ladybug and supports her makes her 'dangerous' to his self-important narrative.
- Miraculous: Tales of Scarlet Beetle & Ikati Black:
- Théo, as in canon, gets jealous of how close Ikati Black is with Scarlet Beetle, enough for Monarch to akumatize him.
- In the same chapter, Max worries that he could become this after his attempt to talk Théo (who he thought was much older and too old for the underage Scarlet) out of his affection towards Scarlet leads him to claim that they are much closer romantically than they really are. Plagg explains that Max is going through his "lion phase," which is where Black Cat holders will snap at anyone who might be a threat, especially to their partner Ladybugs. In Max's chase, this will take the form of being verbally aggressive, akin to a jungle cat roaring to keep competitors away from their territory.
- The Wolves in the Woods: Chat Noir extends this mentality towards other heroes, feeling that they distract Ladybug from the 'perfect partnership' he enjoys with 'his lady'. When the Iberian Heroes attempt to officially introduce themselves, he whirls on Ladybug and grabs her arm, angrily demanding answers as to why they're even there. This nets him being on the wrong end of a Curb-Stomp Battle and having his secret identity revealed in front of Ladybug.
My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic
- Angel is a non-romantic version of this in Magnetism. He doesn't like how Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy are physically close all the time and does everything he can to get rid of Dash, culminating in him catapulting her into the Everfree Forest, which then causes the bracelets to activate, meaning Fluttershy unwittingly joins her. After this incident, though he still hates Rainbow Dash, he tones it down somewhat.
- Cortland, in The Rock Farmer's Daughters, is possessive of Pinkamena, has a Never My Fault attitude when she outright rejects his unwanted advances, blames her father Igneous Rock and the hired hoof Cheese Sandwich for influencing her to reject him, and plots to have Cheese fired and driven out of town, and later kidnaps Igneous. It culminates when he tries to kill Igneous, Cheese, and Pinkamena by setting fire to a house with them inside.
- First Try Series: Team 7, Kakashi feels entitled to being the one who trains Naruto and serve as his Parental Substitute. This clearly weirds Naruto out, and Jiraiya calls Kakashi out on this, saying he can't force Naruto to see him as one and he frankly needs to chill out.
- A Crown of Stars: After getting together, Asuka is very, very possessive of Shinji. You would think that he is or seems to be less possessive… and you would be wrong. This is palpable when some guys try to worm their way next to Asuka and he scares them away with a silent glare.
- Advice and Trust: Although he has not got many chances to show it In-Universe, Word of God has confirmed that Shinji is very possessive and jealous, and if someone tried to hit on his girlfriend, he would not put up with it silently.That.... would not likely end well. Shinji doesn't show it as much, but he's as strongly possessive of Asuka as she is of him. Rei gets a pass due to being so close to both of them, but a stranger, an outsider, trying to make moves on his Asuka? Oh, that would not be good.
- The Child of Love: Shinji. He was actually jealous when Asuka found the arcade game centre’s manager cute and nice. When he did a special favour for them to Asuka's delight, Shinji instantly got angry, moody, and snappy.
- Evangelion 303: Saburo. When Rei Ayanami fell into a coma after a plane crash and his boyfriend Kaworu started to spend time watching over her, Saburo got jealous of the attention that Kaworu gave Rei-despite of Rei being comatose and female-, and broke up with him. He regretted it, but for that time Kaworu had moved, and Saburo got increasingly jealous of the close relationship between Kaworu and Rei, lashing out at Rei, berating Kaworu for spending time with her, and resorting to hare-brained stunts to attract his ex-boyfriend's attention.
- Scar Tissue: At the beginning of a chapter, Shinji suffers a nightmare where he sees Asuka kissing another boy. He gets utterly distraught and feels the impulse of killing both of them. At the same time, it severely disturbs him feeling so jealous and possessive.
- The Second Try plays with this. Shinji is possessive, but when Hikari convinces Asuka to go on a blind date, he isn't jealous because he knows that Asuka doesn't like that student. He gets annoyed when Asuka has to pretend that she still has a crush on Kaji, though.
- In Captive (AbyssCronica) Eustass Kid is a crazy jealous guy toward his prisoner/girlfriend. To date, he brutally murdered a crewmate that tried to rape her, broke the legs of her Hopeless Suitor, and blinded a guy with Xray vision Power Perversion Potential after said guy peeped on her, nearly started a deathmatch with X Drake for asking her into his crew.
- If you're unlucky Jean Grey's date in X-Men: The Early Years, Hank, Warren, and Scott will drive you out. Or crazy. Or both. Usually both."Hey guys, come quick! Jean's getting home with her date." Hank motioned from his location at the telescope. "Second week in a row." He trailed off a moment, staring through the eyepiece. "So that's Josh. They must be getting along fairly well if they're going out for a second weekend."
Warren got to the telescope first. "So that's Dorkboy. I think he's really gotta go."
Hank took the telescope back from Warren. "Let’s see, letterman, three sports, band pin, I think — I can't really be sure about that one. Fairly tall, dark hair, and well built. I agree with Warren's assessment. Dorkboy's gotta go, my fine fellows."
- Duke Devlin in Decks Fall Everyone Dies, just like the Duke in the source material for the plot.
