  • Adventures in Odyssey: After the "Best Small Town" Story Arc closed, the series went on a hiatus and, when it came back, nearly all of the current characters except for Whit, Connie, Eugene, and Wooten had suddenly disappeared, including major characters such as Tom Rileynote , Bernard Waltonnote , the Washingtonsnote  and the Rathbonesnote  as part of a soft reboot starting with the 51st album.
  • In The Men from the Ministry's first series, the General Assistance Department had a second secretary named April Adams. For whatever reason she disappeared without a word afterwards, and was even completely Adapted Out in the 1980 re-recordings and the Finnish version.
  • Back in the day, Atari released a few vinyl record albums with audio dramas based on their games. The Asteroids one contains an odd example of this trope. The 4-act story opens with space patrol ship Captain Jim Stanton bantering with a new cadet. There's no indication that there's anybody else on board the ship. Midway through the 2nd act, though, Stanton starts interacting instead with the ship's sentient computer. At this point, they encounter some asteroids and go through a time warp. Without giving away the plot, suffice it that there is a happy ending... except that we haven't heard a single word from or about the cadet since the middle of Act 2. While this was presumably just an oversight in a hastily thrown-together production, it's hard for the listener not to start wondering if the poor kid somehow got erased during their little time warp adventure.
