Each Pretty Cure series and movie has a main villain for the heroines to fight.


  • Futari wa Pretty Cure: The Dark/Jaaku King, the ruler of the Dark/Dusk/Dotsuku Zone, wants to cover the world in darkness and acquire the Prism Stones to make himself immortal.
  • Futari wa Pretty Cure Splash★Star: Akudaikan is the ruler of Dark Fall who wants to capture the seven World Fountains so he can conquer the World Tree for himself, but his supposed minion Gohayn created him as part of his plan to destroy the universe.
    • Tick-Tock Crisis Hanging By A Thin Thread has Sirloin, a top-hatted man and Dark Fall denizen who wants to stop time forever.
  • Yes! Pretty Cure 5: Queen Desparaia is the head of the Nightmare Group who wants to use the Dream Collect to spread despair around the world, although Kawarino, her secretary, does most of the work himself. In the end, she reforms herself, while Kawarino ultimately solidifies himself as the real villain by rejecting redemption.
    • Great Miraculous Adventure in the Mirror Kingdom has Shadow, who has taken over the titular kingdom and wants the Dream Collect so he can Take Over the World.
  • Go Go has the Director/Boss of Eternal, who wants to collect treasures from other worlds and destroy the worlds when they no longer hold value to him.
  • Fresh Pretty Cure!: Lord Moebius is the absolute ruler of Labyrinth who wishes to expand his rule and control all the parallel worlds in existence.
    • The Toy Kingdom has Lots of Secrets has Toymajin, who is stealing all the toys because he believes children don't care about them.
  • HeartCatch Pretty Cure!: Professor Sabaaku is the leader of the Desert Apostles who wants to collect wilted Heart Flowers so he can turn the world into a desert, but he is working for Dune, a green-haired man who wants to destroy the Tree of Hearts.
  • Suite Pretty Cure ♪: Emperor Mephisto is the child-like leader of Minor Land who attempts to make the "Melody of Happiness" into a "Melody of Sorrow" to make all worlds tragic and reflect his musical taste, but he has been brainwashed by the Noise of Evil, aka just Noise, a powerful bird-like demon who is himself made of humanity's sorrow.
  • Smile PreCure!, aka Glitter Force: Initially, Joker/Rascal is the antagonist as an agent of the Bad End Kingdom who wants to revive his master, Pierrot/Emperor Nogo; the latter takes over the antagonist position once he is revived. Joker returns as the main antagonist of the series epilogue novel, having survived Pierrot's destruction and used Miyuki's book to feed on the adult Precures' negative energy to gradually reconstitute himself as Bad Joker.
    • Big Mismatch in a Picture Book has Maoh/the Demon Lord, who possesses Nico and uses her so he can mess up the World of Picture Books and Take Over the World.
  • Doki Doki! PreCure, aka Glitter Force Doki Doki, has King Jikochuu/King Mercenare, ruler of the Selfish Kingdom who aims to unseal himself from stone so he can reconquer the Trump Kingdom/Splendorius. He was originally the king of said Kingdom, corrupted, but not possessed or controlled, by the Greater-Scope Villain and Post-Final Boss, Proto-Jikochuu.
  • HappinessCharge Pretty Cure!: Queen Mirage is the Enfant Terrible ruler of the Phantom Kingdom who wants to spread sorrow throughout the world, until she turns good when it is revealed that her mirror, Deep Mirror, is the god Red, evil brother of Blue who controlled Mirage.
    • The Ballerina of the Land of Dolls has Black Fang, a commander of the Phantom Kingdom who created the Doll Kingdom to deceive Tsumugi and use her despair for his plan to conquer Earth.
  • Go! Princess Pretty Cure: Lady Dyspear is the leader of the Dys Dark who wants to trap people's hopes and dreams in the Gate of Despair and spread despair around the world. And unlike Desparaiah and Queen Mirage, she doesn't pull a High-Heel–Face Turn but remains the villain to the end, with Close only serving as the Final Boss so he can avenge her.
    • The Pumpkin Kingdom's Treasure has Warp, a former memeber of Dys Dark who wants to capture the Pretty Cures and drive Pumplulu to despair so he can prove that he is batter than Lady Dyspear.
    • Pretty Cure and Refi's Wonder Night! has Night Pumpkin, who invades the Night Kingdom so he can turn the sky into night.
  • Maho Girls Pretty Cure! has two:
    • The first half has Dokurokushe/Kushi, the skeleton leader of the Dark Magicians who wants to obtain the Linkle Stone Emerald so he can Take Over the World.
    • The Second half has Deusmast, an Eldritch Abomination who seeks to drown the world in chaos and manipulated Dokurokushe through Orba into doing his bidding.
    • The Miraculous Transformation: Cure Mofurun! has Dark Matter (no relation), an evil bear who steals the Wishing Stone so he can spread chaos and ruin the festival.
  • KiraKira★Pretty Cure à la Mode: Julio/Rio Kuroki is the initial antagonist as the mysterious boy who controls the evil fairies that raid the heroines’ sweet shop. Later on, he is revealed to be working for Noir, a masked demon who wants to stain the town with darkness because he cannot make sweets. Until Elisio, one of his lieutenants, betrays him and reveals his plan to create a utopia by eradicating emotion.
  • HuGtto! Pretty Cure: George Kurai is a man from the future who seeks to create a utopia where no one will ever be unhappy by freezing time. It is later revealed that Hana, the main protagonist, was his friend and potential love interest.
    • All Stars Memories has Miden, a specter who wants to steal the memories of all the Cures revealed up to that point because he doesn’t have any good ones himself.
  • Star★Twinkle Pretty Cure has Darknest, leader of the Notraiders Alien Invasion who wants to consume all light in the universe for himself. “He” is later revealed to be a 13th Star Princess based off the Ophiuchus constellation.
    • Wish Upon A Celestial Ballad has the Alien Hunters, a group of five aliens who seek to capture UMA.
  • Healin' Good♡Pretty Cure has King Byo-gen, the leader of the Byo-gens who seeks to destroy all life on Earth. One of his minions, Guaiwaru, sets up a gambit to have the Cures kill him so that he can assume that position later on. This lasts for two episodes before the King returns and absorbs Guaiwaru into him to reassume his role.
    • Yume no Machi de Kyun! tto GoGo! Daihenshin!! has Ego Ego, the master of the digital city.
  • Tropical-Rouge! Pretty Cure has the Witch of Procrastination, who seeks to become immortal by opening the Fool’s Casket to create a world of endless apathy. Until it turns out that Butler has been keeping her from remembering her past, which will cause her to not want to destroy the world, so he can bring about the end of the world through her. She is successfully pacified in the third to last episode, leaving Butler as the final boss.
  • Delicious Party♡Pretty Cure has Godatz, leader of the Phantom Bundle Gang, who wishes to obtain all kinds of cuisines by trapping Recipepes. He would be later revealed to be Fennel, the captain of the royal guards of CooKingdom, who stole all foods so that people would be forced to rely on him for survival, effectively making him the ruler of the world.
  • Soaring Sky! PreCure has Empress Undergu, who bears grudge against Ellee and sends her minions to capture her. It turns out that the true main antagonist of the series is Skearhead, the fourth villain to make actual appearance, who gave her Fake Memories to make her believe that Ellee's predecessor, Elleelain, betrayed and killed her father, Emperor Undergu, despite the fact that Skearhead is the actual killer, just for his goal of requiring a vessel and for his selfish ideal.
  • Pretty Cure All Stars movies:
    • DX has Fusion, a fusion of various monsters who seeks to gain more power for himself by attacking the Pretty Cures.
    • DX2 has Bottom, who wishes to steal the Rainbow Jewel so he can plunge the world into darkness.
    • DX3 has Black Hole, who's responsible for creating many of the other villains, whom he summons to battle the Pretty Cures.
    • New Stage has Fusion again, as Fuu-chan, who wants to reset the world.
    • New Stage 2 has Kaye, the jealousy and resentment of the Pretty Cures that resided inside Gereru come to life. He tempts Gereru to release him and, when that happens, starts causing destruction and mayhem.
    • New Stage 3 has Maamu, Yumeta's mother who traps children’s in the Land of Dream so her daughter can have friends, until she turns good and helps them face Akumu, the Nightmare Monster consciousness that goes out of her control and begins wrecking the land.
    • Carnival of Spring has Odoren and his partner Utaren, a pair of master thieves who steal the Kingdom of Harmonia and makes themselves into their ruler.
    • Singing With Everyone Miraculous Magic has Solcielle, a mysterious and vengeful Witch who is after the Pretty Cures' tears to resurrect her dead teacher. Until she turns good when her butler, Trauuma, turns out to be using her to regain his full power.
    • Dream Stars has Karasutengu, an evil Demon who took over Sakura's world of Sakuragahara to steal all the beautiful things for himself.
    • Super Stars has Onibi, a massive spirit of darkness who manipulated Clover.
    • Pretty Cure Universe has Yango, a crow-like alien from Planet Miracle who believes Piton and the Pretty Cures are responsible for the disappearance of the Miracle Light. In fact, he caused the malfunction of the factory to frame Piton.
    • Miracle Leap has Refrain, a spirit who represents the past.
    • F has Preme/Cure Supreme who turns out to be the evil half of the evil deity Supreme. She kills every main Cure in the past all by herself in order to recreate the universe in her own image by erasing them from existence. And plans to repeat the same thing this time by acting as The Mole to them to separate and observe them closely.
