• Alice in Wonderland: The Cheshire Cat is associated with the phrase "We're all mad here." What he actually says is "Most everyone's mad here." He does say "We're all mad here" in the original book, though, and the Disney version's soundtrack album ends with him saying "We're all mad here," presumably from an alternate take of the scene that Sterling Holloway recorded.
• Bambi: When Bambi says his first word, "bird," most movie storybooks and at least one Disney trivia book say he pronounces it as "birr-DUH". Actually, it's Thumper who says "birr-DUH" to demonstrate that the word isn't just "bir," as Bambi has been saying, but ends in a "d." When Bambi finally says "bird," he pronounces it correctly.
• A Bug's Life: One of Heimlich's lines is often quoted as "Do not listen to them, they are poo-poo heads!" when the line is actually "Francis, leave them alone! They are poo-poo heads!"
• Dingo Pictures' Wabuu never says or sings "Most of the animals are so stupid" in his own film nor any other Dingo film featuring him, despite the cover description.
• People commonly quote a line one of the workers at the Marine Life Institute says to kids at an exhibit in Finding Dory as "It's cuddle party time!" or "It's a cuddle party!". She actually says "It's a huge cuddle party!".
• In Frozen, Hans' Wham Line "Oh, Anna, if only there was someone out there who loved you" is often abridged as "If only someone loved you".
  • In the sequel, Olaf never says "Baby? Babe? Baby? Oh yeah, I'm single!", despite what a popular image macro of a scene from the film shows. He actually said "Anna? Elsa? Sven? Samantha? I don't even know a Samantha!".
• Many parents who complained about a line Kakie the Cake Monster says in Hotel Transylvania 2, as well as websites such as Screen It!, misquoted it as "And remember, diabetes is the scariest monster of all". The actual line is "Slow down, Wuzzlelumplebum! The scariest monster of all is diabetes!".
• In The Incredibles, Frozone never actually says "Woman, where is my supersuit?" The proper lines are "Honey, where's my supersuit?", and "You tell me where my suit is, woman!"
• Inside Out:
  • The last words of Bing Bong are often misquoted as "Take her to the moon for me, Joy" or "Send her to the moon for me". The actual line is "Take her to the moon for me...okay?", but most of the time, people will omit the "...okay?" part of said line. The official Facebook page for the film did the latter misquote on one of their posts.
  • Forbes claimed that Forgetter Paula's line "When Riley doesn't care about a memory, it fades" was said by Bing Bong. He doesn't show up until 2 minutes after this line is said.
• Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie: IMDB misquotes part of Khalil's "beautiful young asparagus" speech as "Today you sail out to Tarshish to deliver a message to the camel thieves, but in the process will break the heart of the woman you love!". The actual line is "This very day you set sail for Tarshish to deliver a message that will break the back of the camel thieves, but in the process will break the heart of the woman you love!".
• Lilo & Stitch:
  • The ʻohana motto is often misquoted as "Family means No One Gets Left Behind"; while the last five words are the name of the trope, in the motto those words are actually "nobody gets left behind".
    • The "Or forgotten" suffix regularly gets forgotten.
    • Additionally, the full motto has never been spoken by just one character. The first time, when Nani was about to bring Stitch back to the shelter before Lilo stopped her, Lilo made Nani finish the motto. The second time, when Stitch decides to run away from home during what would be Lilo's last night living with Nani, Lilo does not say the "or forgotten" part. Finally, when Stitch comforts Nani after Lilo gets kidnapped by saying the motto to her, Nani says the "nobody gets left behind" part while Stitch says the rest (and "nobody" at the same time as Nani).
  • People believe that, due to Stitch's broken English, he said in his little speech about his family, "Is little, and broken, but still good." In actuality, he actually said the more grammatically correct "It's" in that sentence, not "Is".
• The Lion King:
  • Many takes on the "Lion King" Lift start with the "NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANTS INGONYAMA BAGITHI BABA" chant or something similar. In the actual song, "Circle of Life", that's just the first line, sung when the sun begins to rise; Rafiki doesn't hold Simba aloft to the crowd until the final chorus, about three minutes in.
  • At no point in "Circle of Life" did it say, "Pink pyjamas, penguins on the bottom", though to be fair, while people did hear it that way, they also knew that those weren't the correct lyrics. The actual lyric is "Ingonyama nengw' enamabala", which translates to "A lion and a leopard".
• The Little Mermaid (1989):
  • King Triton never says "You deliberately disobeyed me" to Ariel. Mufasa says it to Simba twice in The Lion King (1994), and Ariel herself says it to Melody in The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea, but Triton never says it.
  • Critics who mock Ariel and label her a Bratty Teenage Daughter tend to quote her as saying "But Daddy, I love him!" about Prince Eric. The actual line is just "Daddy, I love him!" It's more assertive and less whiny than the addition of the "But" makes it sound.
• In The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists, the Pirate Captain's memetic quote "Well yes, but actually no" is actually a mishearing of the actual quote "Good guess, but actually no". Said line is actually from the accompanying short film So You Want to Be a Pirate!, and the screenshot isn't actually when he says that.
• Shrek is inseparably associated with puns on the word "ogre" in Internet culture. No characters ever make such jokes in the movies, although certain promotional materials do. One character does make an "ogre" pun - Simon Cowell, in the "Far Far Away Idol" special feature on the Shrek 2 DVD. After witnessing Shrek and Fiona (who were judges, but apparently couldn't resist singing as well) sing "What I Like About You" by The Romantics, Cowell remarks "Ogre-all impression... rather wonderful."
• The Common Sense Media review of Sing quotes part of the lyrics of "Set It All Free" as "This is my big hell no" rather than "This is my big hello".
• Sleeping Beauty: Aurora doesn't sing "Someday My Prince Will Come." That song is from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Aurora's Signature Song is "Once Upon a Dream."
• Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs:
  • Queen Grimhilde never said "Mirror, Mirror on the Wall" in the film; she actually said "Magic Mirror on the Wall." The "Mirror, Mirror" version of the saying is, however, accurate to various written versions of the fairy tale both in English and other languages.
    • Additionally, the queen asks is "Who is the fairest one of all", not "of them all" or "of us all." The alternate versions are used in other adaptations, though.
  • The antidote to the poisoned apple isn't "True Love's Kiss," but "Love's First Kiss." This mistake stems from confusion with Sleeping Beauty, which does use the phrase "True Love's Kiss."
• In The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Lumalee, one of the prisoners in Bowser's castle who has gone delusional due to being there for a long time, is believed to say that "The only hope [from escaping Bowser's castle] is the sweet release of death". The line is actually "The only hope is the sweet relief of death".
• A Memetic Mutation has a screenshot of Superman from Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (usually edited to have the features of another character, with disturbing results) with the caption "[name], I..." In the movie, Superman does not actually say that line, he is instead saying "She is my cousin".
• Toy Story:
  • In Toy Story, Woody doesn't say, "Look, Buzz, there's an alien!" when tricking Buzz Lightyear. He actually says "Buzz, look! An alien!"
  • A pose of Buzz and Woody from the beginning of Toy Story 2 is the source of the "X, X Everywhere" Image Macro format. Like the "You don't say?" meme from Vampire's Kiss, this has nothing to do with the actual dialogue in the scene: Buzz actually says, "In just a few hours, you'll be sittin' around a campfire with Andy, makin' delicious hot schmoes!"^note "They're call s'mores, Buzz."
• Ultra Magnus' infamous line of "I can't deal with that now" in The Transformers: The Movie is frequently misquoted as "I can't deal with that right now."
• Zootopia: Judy does say "I mean, I am just a dumb bunny, but we are good at multiplying" in the actual film. The inaccuracy is that the line is often paired with a gif apparently showing Nick slowly realizing what she meant◊, which is actually taken from earlier in the scene in which Judy is about to arrest him for tax evasion. In the film itself, the Double Entendre isn't even brought attention to at all.
