The Myst series of Video Games is full of dazzling scenery, and music like this.
- The Tower. It's perfect for Halloween.
- Treegate, with its intoxicating drum beat.
- The glorious and bittersweet Finale.
- Link, simply for being the sound of progress.
- Caves to the Temple. It is not in the official soundtrack sadly, but is a nice variation of Temple which plays in the shrine next-door. They're nice songs in the way they convey the sense of Gehn's madness.
- The Red Cave. Dark and ominous, a pity it isn't longer.
- Gehn's Theme. It's worth getting a bad ending to listen to it.
- Atrus' Study. A relaxing, melancholy piece that acts as Sirrus' Leitmotif. Foreshadows Sirrus' role as the main villain of Myst IV.
- Every note of "Deadwood Ridge" evokes a nature hike, especially the drumstick tapping that sounds a lot like a woodpecker.
- Enter Tomahna is a relaxing home-sweet-home piece.
- Enter Spire is an absolutely gorgeous adagio for strings and glass harmonica.
- "Prison Level" brings to mind a Middle Eastern dungeon.
- "Leaving Spire" captures the Stranger's obvious thoughts of "I'm on my way, Yeesha!"
- This is in sharp contrast with "The Monastery."
- "Curtains" by Peter Gabriel is just wonderful, even if most of the lyrics are incomprehensible.
- The Main Theme could easily work as music for a castle storming sequence.
- "Atrus Speaks", combining Atrus' relief that Yeesha is safe and his grief at Sirrus and Achenar's deaths.
- The haunting Gallery Theme.
- Anything, ANYTHING associated with Kadish Tolesa, but especially the Kadish Gallery and "Alternate Vault" themes.
- The Space Ahnonay theme is a soothing synth piece that evokes space travel.
- While ultimately not used, "Out of the Hive" is a well-crafted piece evoking a jog through jungle.
- It might be more mundane, but Air Stream (playing as you explore the area around the Cleft) is really relaxing.
