Proof that Microsoft Paint isn't horrible for art. Credit goes to YouTuber Eclectic Asylum Art.

You may have seen utterly wonderful art, like fantastic animation in your favorite cartoon or wonderful graphics in that new video game, but those talents come from this very realm we call Real Life.

  • First off, the image on this page, drawn by Eclectic Asylum Art on YouTube and uploaded on December 30th 2013, is a photorealistic drawing of Santa Claus in Microsoft Paint, a free drawing tool that is otherwise recommended against by many digital artists.
  • Facial composites can be accurate depictions based on given facial descriptions. It is not just done by the police, one can also make a composite of a character from Literature without imagery, such as how people have made guesses of the titular Dracula based on the following description. note
  • A similar kind of drawing is a portrait, and the most popular ones are known for their techniques creating a sense of realism, such as Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. There are also paintings that aren't portraits, but still capture the depth of a human shape, like Creation of Adam by Michelangelo. One can also make self-portraits, and here's a guide on drawing a portrait in pencil.
  • Some cave paintings still look good to this day, like this one. Here is also the oldest known Aboriginal rock art; it looks like a kangaroo.
  • Flipbooks are a nice way of making animation when an artist feels too poor for more popular animation tools. One can pause by stopping the flipping, and one can control how fast the pages should be flipped. Andymation is a channel known for flipbooks, especially when he has recreated his favorite one 30 years later.
