So 3DS is getting something called Project × Zone, which is like Namco X Capcom, but also throwing Sega in. This announcement is already enough to make the fandom rejoice.
Project X Zone
- Hm, the rosters...wait is that Sanger Zonvolt, The Sword That Smites Evil!? And he's kicking ass with a human-sized Zankantou on foot!? Wow!
- Those who dislike the treatment to X lately will also be pleased that yes, he's in along with Zero. However Capcom may be treating him, Monolith remembers X.
- New trailer show what X is capable of. He ends a combo in the trailer with a Shinkuu Hadouken, as a Call-Back to the Easter Egg from the first game!
- Slight correction! For everybody else, it'd be a Shinkuu Hadouken. But for X, it's just a regular Hadouken.
- Even better: During his part of the trailer, his final attack is the Nova Strike with the ULTIMATE ARMOR.
- More fuel to the fire, Vile is a boss in the game.
- New trailer show what X is capable of. He ends a combo in the trailer with a Shinkuu Hadouken, as a Call-Back to the Easter Egg from the first game!
- Hell, just look at the characters confirmed for this game! Yuri and Estelle, Ulala, Dante, Jin and Xiaoyu and Kite and Black Rose. The best part? As of right now, there are still tons more to be announced!
- Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand there's the trailer.
- Enemy NPC's have been announced, let's see who we get to fight... Juri!? Vile/VAVA!? Selvaria!? Oh dear, oh dear...!
- They also introduced probably non-playable allies, and they aren't pulling their punches...Iris is announced, cue the fans rejoicing for either preventing her tragic death...or having a modern "WHATAMIFIGHTINGFOOOOORRR!?"
- The second trailer.
- Speaking of the second trailer, quite a few people were very happy to hear that X would have "Opening Stage X" from Mega Man X4 as a BGM. Also, after the ridiculousness of giving him the "Theme of Adam the Clown", it was good to know that this time, Frank West would be given his theme from his first game.
- And now Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada has decided to propose for a localization of the game. Athough nothing is concrete, he said that if he continues pushing, his wishes (and the fans') would be realized. No Export for You No More!
- Confirmed. Bandai Namco Entertainment is aiming for a Summer 2013 release for North America, Europe, and Australia. Read it all about it here.
- The addition of Rocks was certainly received pretty well by fans.
- So this game is fun and all, but- Wait a second, "The Gain Ground Project"? They based an entire level off Gain Ground? With a remix of its theme tune? Dear God, Monolith dug deep for Sega references!
Project X Zone 2
- There is gonna be a sequel, and it's heading west too! With some fan faves joining the list too like Kage-Maru, Leon S. Kennedy, Haseo, Hotsuma, Strider Hiryuu and 'villainous' characters actually being playable: Vergil and Kazuya Mishima!
- So... a lot have been clamoring for the return of Streets of Rage but Sega has never budged. Well... Axel makes it to the sequel. Cue the old school fans rejoicing.
- A hilarious addition to roster would be Phoenix Wright. Imagine the amount of fans getting excited for his appearance in the sequel.
- Another gameplay trailer revealed that Sigma is in the game.
- Valkyrie and Ulala are back (along with Felicia returning from Namco X Capcom) and they brought helpers with them!
- Sylphie returns to main the game's shops! And she brought alongside customizing stats and abilities.
- Wow, it's nice that Star Gladiator gets some love. Not Hayato, but June's pretty nice. But I suppose the biggest surprise is *tap tap* I'm kinda busy he — S-SEGATA SANSHIRO!? Y-you're in this game!? *is beaten to pulp for editing the article* Segata... Sanshiro... *thumbs up*Sega Saturn, shiro!
- And if that isn't enough, Hiroshi Fujioka will reprise his role for the game! Accept no substitute, folks!
- As for the Star Gladiator villain? Black Hayato!
- Chrom gets his chance to shine along with Lucina.
- Mechon Fiora teams up with her spiritual predecessor, KOS-MOS in Project X Zone 2.
- Moreover, the inclusion of Nintendo characters in general is something people have been clamoring for since Project X Zone 2's announcement. Imagine the excitement when Chrom, Lucina, and Fiora were confirmed and the flood gates were finally opened for other Nintendo and guest characters.
- Captain Commando has finally returned after being absent for almost a decade.
- Ryo appears and is presumably looking for sailors.
- The second second trailer.
