Here is the text of the greeting:

(This is an automated message sent because you've posted in the Projects:Long Term/Perpetual subforum, but the troper behind it is very much real, and available for questions or follow-up - just ask!)

Hello, [[troper]], and welcome to Projects:Long Term/Perpetual. This forum is dedicated to cleaning up the wiki, or ensuring certain tropes are being used correctly. We have a wide variety of topics, each contained on a specific thread, so you're pretty likely to find at least one project that interests you.

However, if you're planning to contribute to any of these projects, you need to understand how this forum works, first. Beyond the general forum rules, there are some guidelines you need to follow to contribute to these projects:

Consensus is key. These threads only work if everyone is willing to cooperate, even if they disagree with each other. Be civil, and be willing to join in on a discussion. The more hands the better, and people are always looking for advice or consensus, so don't be the person who won't listen to others, and don't pick fights. If someone else is causing problems, report the situation either by hitting the Holler button or by posting in Ask The Tropers- try not to lose your temper, and let the mods handle it.

Remember that everyone here is trying to work. If you're more interested in chatting or goofing around than pitching in, this isn't the forum for you. We want to keep things relaxed and breezy even while doing cleanup, but derailing threads or failing to contribute in any meaningful way will only create problems. Stay on topic, stay focused on the thread's goal, and keep the unrelated chatter to a minimum.

Some threads may have their own rules, which are always posted at the top of each page, but these general rules are what you need to know in order to work on this forum.

Finally, if you want to join a thread that isn't very active, feel free to give it a little bump- as long as your new post is contributing to the project or bringing the project back to life, we aren't as concerned about necroing.

That said, this forum isn't all rules and work- as long as you keep a cool head and stay on task, you can still joke around and have fun, too. Trust me, everything goes a lot smoother with some levity.

Please note that this forum does not concern itself with changing trope definitions, changing images, or cleaning up specific pages. For those sort of things, check out Trope Repair Shop, Image Pickin, and our sister forum, Projects: Short Term. For discussing wiki policy, you want Wiki Talk; for discussing the meaning and scope of various tropes, you want Trope Talk. It's best to keep these sort of subjects out of the cleanup threads, as they can derail discussions.

Still have questions? Go ahead and ask me, or one of our mods, and will help as soon as possible.
