"The Wizards of Aus" is an UrbanFantasy comedy series commissioned for SBS On Demand, subsequently released on Youtube. Fed up with the Magical Realm’s obsession with large-scale fantasy warfare, Jack the Wizard decides to migrate to the sanest place he can think of: Melbourne's Western suburbs.

Unfortunately, his presence alone is going to turn it a less sane place, especially when his old life decides to follow him.

The series is now completed with a total of six episodes, all available [[https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJSMFXYSojXotCa_NrjYM54ICmSmmCygg here]].
----
!Tropes found in "The Wizards of Aus" include:
* AccidentalMurder: Via [[spoiler:magic-assisted space travel.]]
* AttackAttackAttack: An entire small army cheerfully tries to charge ''a dragon'' in melee - even after the first wave gets burned to a crisp.
* BagOfHolding: At the beginning of his stay in Australia, Jack uses his to carry his countless used soup cans. And his yoga instructor.
* BlackComedy: A good half of the jokes are about how indifferent everyone is to casual murder and AFateWorseThanDeath curses being thrown around.
* BrickJoke: [[spoiler:The wizard kiss.]]
** Baby Bones, too. And the man and his dog being sent into space.
* ButForMeItWasTuesday: Almost word for word when Jack is on The Wright Perspective.
-->'''Jack:''' Morgan, if that stuff happened ''here'', it would be the most significant day in your history. For me, that was... Tuesday.
* CannotTellAJoke: Batty, one of Terry's coworkers, during the shark HurricaneOfPuns
-->'''Billy''': How's the wife, mate? I hear she's a bit of a hammerhead, 'cause you hammer her and she gives you head, mate.\
'''Bobby''': Eh mate, when she's on the rag, do you bloody just go into a feeding frenzy, mate? Nah, just jostling with you mate, just playing around, just playing around.\
'''Batty''': G'day Jaws, how's your jaw?\
''[silence]''
* CasualDangerDialogue: Subverted. Flirting in the middle of a battlefield is not really a good idea.
* ContinuityNod: Continually, with what you thought were throwaway gags popping up again as [[FunnyBackgroundEvent Funny Background Events]]. Most notably with the dog walker Skulldrich tosses into space.
-->'''Jack:''' ''[on the moon]'' Oh hey! It's that guy and his dog, from ''[mumble]''...
* DirtyOldMan: Jack's father still does his best to have a dating life, despite being ''a painting''.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Jack quickly decides to abstain from using magic in his new home. This is played out as a different kind of an abstinence more than once.
* EnfantTerrible: Baby Bones is quite literally a living baby skeleton, and ObviouslyEvil, yet no one in-universe seems capable of seeing this and consider him adorable.
* EpunymousTitle: "The Wright Perspective", a talk show with obnoxious host Morgan Wright.
* EsotericHappyEnding: Invoked, exaggerated, and completely played for laughs. By the very end, [[spoiler:Melbourne has been turned into precisely as fantastic a land as the world Jack was trying to escape. In spite of the widespread destruction and chaos, no one - save Jack himself, of course - seems to mind too much and in fact consider it an improvement]] [[invoked]]
* EvilTowerOfOminousness: Skulldrich's lair. Right in the middle of an ordinary Melbourne suburb.
* ExplosiveDecompression: Jack, slightly drunk, agrees to take his speed date to the moon... but forgets to do anything to protect her from the vacuum of space.
* FantasticRacism: Terry, Jack's [[FishPeople shark-man]] friend, is at the receiving end of this from his workmates.
* ForcedTransformation: A relatively common occurrence, usually courtesy of Skulldrich, who likes to transform parts of people into that of animals. Interestingly, his victims never seem to even notice.
* GilliganCut: [[spoiler:At the very end, Jack admits that though things may not have gone the best way possible for him. At least he did not ruin everything. He takes this back precisely a day later.]]
* HurricaneOfPuns:
** Upon being told to try dating again, the numerous accidental horse puns do not help Jack forget about his old flame - a unicorn.
** Terry's coworkers harass him with a one-and-a-half minute barrage of shark puns.
* {{Improv}}: Lord Mummy's monologue in the restaurant was entirely improvised. He was supposed to have a single line before yelling at the waiter.
* InterspeciesRomance: Jack's ex wife was a unicorn. With horse parents.
-->'''Kylie''': Alright, giddyup, let's go.\
'''Jack''': I used to fuck a horse!\
'''Kylie''': What?\
'''Jack''': Nothing, let's go!
* OnlySaneMan: Though he may not be entirely sane himself, Jack comes across as lightyears more rational and sensible than anyone else from his world. Once he migrates, the trope becomes more downplayed but never goes completely away.
* PoorCommunicationKills: Jack's troops communicate orders by horn. A single note for each order. The actual order being determined by the pitch of the blown note. This, naturally, leads to a few mishaps.
-->'''Jack''': Does our main system of communication rely on everybody having perfect pitch? Is... is that a thing?\
...\
'''Horatio''': Hang on, no. This is the one for the escape. ''[blows horn]''\
''[a giant boulder comes flying past and hits some soldiers off screen]''\
'''Jack''': Did you just. Tell. The trebuchet men to fire?
* PowerIncontinence: Jack occasionally has hard time keeping his magic in him: upon first arriving to Australia, a mere sneeze was enough to cause an issue.
* SitcomArchNemesis: Despite both being powerful wizards, this is largely the relationship between Jack and Skulldrich, only made worse now that the former does not use magic at all.
* StockScream: The Wilhelm Scream makes an appearance in every episode.
* TalkingIsAFreeAction: Averted, with an axe to the face. That is why you don't [[CasualDangerDialogue sass]].
* ThisIsGonnaSuck: "Well that's a fucking bummer."
* UrbanFantasy: The story is set in real-world Melbourne, Australia, a completely mundane place until the wizards start to settle in.
