The QSMP was a private, modded ''VideoGame/{{Minecraft}}'' survival multiplayer server run by Quackity. It is the first-ever multilingual Minecraft SMP server in the world. Initially, the server was limited to English and Spanish-speaking content creators. However, the roster has since been expanded to include Brazilian (Portuguese), French, Korean, and German-speaking content creators.

The series commences with a group of individuals who speak Spanish and English receiving train tickets to a land known as 'Quesadilla Island' or 'Isla Quesadilla', which is advertised as a stunning resort. However, upon arrival, it becomes evident that this is not the paradise they were promised. To make matters worse, they are informed that they can never leave. The guests must now adapt to their new life and collaborate to not only survive but also uncover the truth behind this peculiar world.

The narrative follows a group of individuals who are thrust into a situation that is far from what they expected. The initial excitement of a luxurious vacation quickly fades as they realize they are trapped in a place that is not what it seems. The guests must learn to work together, despite their language barriers, to navigate the challenges that come with their new reality.

On March 10th, 2023, the QSMP was officially announced and subsequently started on March 22nd of the same year. The QSMP ended on May 24th, 2024 shortly after its final event, the QSMP Horror Expedition.

'''Note:''' Unless otherwise specified, all tropes pertain to the '''characters''', not the '''content creators''' that play them.
----
!!''El QSMP contiene ejemplos de'':
* ThirteenIsUnlucky: [[spoiler:Slime accidently killed Tilín with a sweeping attack while fighting skeletons.]] This all happened on the 13th of April, 2023.
* AccentAdaptation: The Spanish subtitles in Quackity's English [=YouTube=] episodes translate how he and Spreen refer to avocado toast differently, with Quackity calling it ''tostada de aguacate'' and Spreen calling it ''tostada de palta''. This is most likely a nod to their respective content creators speaking different dialects of Spanish in real life -- Mexican and Argentine Spanish, respectively.
* AllJustADream: When several new hostile mob types were introduced to the server, they turned out to be ''way'' too powerful, resulting in Chayanne, Tallulah, Bobby, and Dapper losing lives. These events were [[{{Retcon}} retconned]] as just being a giant, collective nightmare as the new hostiles were nerfed or removed.
* BilingualDialogue:
** In the teaser, the English- and Spanish-speaking iterations of Quackity are dropped into a room together, who are both extremely confused as they share the same name and appearance. They then start yelling that they can't understand the other, in their respective languages, but Spanish-speaking Quackity manages to introduce his dog's name as "[[StockAnimalName Firulais]]" before the authority that brought them together separates them with a physical wall.
** In the series proper, this trope applies at all times as it is a server with streamers who speak a variety of languages, though it's played with a lot depending on who's talking.
* CourtroomEpisode: A majority of the server attended a court case between Slime and Mariana over [[spoiler:the death of their egg, [=JuanaFlippa=].]] It ended with [[spoiler:[[BackFromTheDead JuanaFlippa getting revived]] and Slime and Mariana both being sentenced to 10 minutes in jail.]]
* CutenessProximity: Many server-members' first reaction to the eggs is to coo over how cute they are.
* EggSitting: The SMP makes a unique twist where the Federation, hosted by the Duckling in the Egg Adoption Event, forces ''everyone'' to take care of the egg they adopted after the Dragon supposedly woke up and disappeared. And since the eggs are actually ''[[EggFolk alive]]'', the guests are forced to protect them at all costs, causing a [[SinkOrSwimFatherhood sink-or-swim situation]] for many guests. A majority of the guests were formed in pairs, while others either took care of their eggs as single parents, or in groups.
* FromBeyondTheFourthWall: Some of the content creators' stream chats have been canonized in various forms:
** Antoine's chat are summoned by Pomme's dragon magic whenever she's with him.
** Bad's chat are [[ISeeDeadPeople ghosts]] that were locked in a secret room he keeps, which he nicknames them "Ghosties".
** Baghera's chat are [[LightingBug fireflies]] that follow her.
** Bagi's chat is her ImaginaryFriend called "Jorge".
** Cellbit's chat are [[HearingVoices voices in his head]].
** Felps' chat are called "Bapo", which is derived from the term ''bate-papo'', which means "chit-chat" in Portuguese. Essentially, Felps is ''talking to himself''.
** Fit's chat are little eggs called "Huevitos" where they would [[HearingVoices mentally talk to him]].
** Foolish's chat are the Doozers from ''Series/FraggleRock'' that watch and interact with him for construction reasons.
** Jaiden's chat are a bouquet of hummingbirds that follow her around.
** Maximus' chat are the audience of his own talk show called "Gordinho Gostosinho".
** Mouse's chat are called "Flancitos", a type of cake. Her chat is also known as "Precious Family".
** Philza's chat are a murder of crows that follow and give him gifts. He usually interacts with them when he's alone.
** The two from [=TazerCraft=], Pac and Mike's chat are laboratory mice that watch them build.
* GhostTown: When the guests first arrive on the island, all they are welcomed to are run-down abandoned buildings and structures. However, they quickly learn they are not as alone as they think on the island.
* HistoryRepeats:
** [[spoiler:[=JuanaFlippa=]'s third death]] is a two-fold example. [[spoiler:Not only was she [[AccidentalMurder killed by Mariana on accident]] again, but she got killed by his sword's sweep attack while he was fighting mobs, which is the same way Slime accidently killed Tilín, something [=JuanaFlippa=] witnessed.]]
** The way Pepito is unable to save Roier (who was lagging) from being left for dead by a gearling, as well as having his first life taken away by the same mob on a Wednesday evening in Mexico whilst dungeon crawling at 7 PM is the same way Bobby lost his second life when he is unable to save Roier from vindicators while they were dungeon crawling.
* HypocriticalHumor: Wanting help singing a lullaby for his egg, Quackity goes to visit Slimecicle and Mariana. When he arrives, Slime is singing a version of "[[Music/JoseFeliciano Feliz Navidad]]" about him getting a divorce, and this was directly after Slime proposed their egg use gravel as a bed among several other things that established him as an {{Abusive Parent|s}}. When Quackity tells them that he's bad at singing a lullaby, Slime tells him that Mariana (who was trying to at least take care of their egg) was really bad at being a mother.
* IslandOfMystery: The server is set on Quesadilla Island, a so-called resort run by a small yellow duck. The island is riddled with odd structures and strange beings. It's later revealed that the island is located at [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pole_of_inaccessibility#Oceanic_pole_of_inaccessibility Point Nemo]], the furthest point away from land possible, further adding to its mystery.
* InterspeciesAdoption: The Egg Adoption Event is this on a much larger scale, with all the residents getting split into pairs and given literal eggs to watch over. The eggs in question are said to be dragon eggs, [[spoiler:except later research by the computer SOFIA throws this into question as their DNA matches closer to humans then dragons.]] This goes further beyond its initial premise, with some residents like Bad, Baghera, and Phil deciding to become parents to eggs they weren't assigned.
* LanguageBarrier: A big part of the server's premise is the Spanish- and English-speaking members working together in spite of their language barrier, later expanding to other languages like Portuguese and French. Subverted in that most of the Spanish-speaking members are fluent in English, and many of the English-speaking members know at least a little Spanish.
* MythologyGag:
** In both the teaser and the series itself, the Ducking's announcements of the rules are made with the sound effects of ''VideoGame/{{Toontown|Online}}'' duck Toons, the game where Quackity's screen-name originated from.
** Foolish and Mariana allude to being exes early in the series. This is a nod to ''Squidcraft Games 2'', the event where they met and apparently hooked up, though Mariana was only in it for a green card.
** A few of the content creators that were previously on the ''WebVideo/DreamSMP'' make brief references to it by claiming it as another life. A few examples of this include Foolish freaking out over Bad asking to live with him, Wilbur telling Quackity that he would've been enemies with him, and Phil posthumously gifting Techno a [[PowerfulPick Sharpness V diamond pickaxe]] named "Toothpick".
** When suggesting for them to take over the prison Quackity plans to build, Cellbit points out that he, Pac and Mike had previous experience with prisons, to which both of them respond with distrust. This is a nod to the Tazercraft machinima series ''WebVideo/FugaImpossivel'', where the three had roles as prisoners, with Cellbit serving as the antagonist.
* {{Retcon}}: Quackity's characters are originally conceived to be one child who was taught both English and Spanish growing up, but were cursed to [[SplitAtBirth split into two (allegedly) monolingual boys]] who spoke different languages because their mother thought the [[AngelUnaware vaping, smoking mage]] secretly testing her [[SmokingIsNotCool didn't pass the vibe check]]. However, cc!Quackity quickly realized this idea was not feasible and reverts back to playing on his normal account as his character, while using the [=ElQuackity=] account to portray an identical-looking but ultimately separate entity.
* ShoutOut:
** Like other ''Minecraft'' [=SMPs=], the skins used by some people on the server reference other media.
*** Carre's skin has a onesie which resembles the manga character Happy from ''Manga/FairyTail''.
*** Etoiles' default skin resembles a French comic character from ''Le Concombre Masqué'', which was created by the late Nikita Mandryka. His skin also has a T-shirt that resembles Creator/BandaiNamcoEntertainment's mascot, ''VideoGame/PacMan'', which is a character Etoiles played the most in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate''.
*** While Forever's skin is the most subtle, his current, default skin has the head resembling [[Characters/FullmetalAlchemistEdwardElric Edward Elric]] from ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'', while the shorts he is wearing has an Akatsuki pattern from ''Characters/{{Naruto}}''.
*** Kameto's skin resembles [[Characters/NarutoSasukeUchiha Sasuke Uchiha]] from ''Franchise/{{Naruto}}'', the former of which is also his preferred name.
*** While Mariana doesn't exactly use a skin that resembles him, his primary skin depicts him in Saitama's attire from ''Webcomic/OnePunchMan''.
*** Missa's skin is that of Skeletor from ''Franchise/MastersOfTheUniverse''.
*** Philza still uses a skin that resembles Kisuke Urahara from ''Manga/{{Bleach}}''.
*** Pol's default skin has a ''VideoGame/{{Tetris}}''-patterned shirt.
*** Early on, Tubbo used his default skin that resembled Tweek Tweak from ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'', before updating it for a more suitable skin.
*** Vegetta's name and skin reference the [[Characters/DragonBallVegeta similarly named character]] from ''Anime/DragonBall''.
*** Willy's skin resembles Bill, a character from the ''VideoGame/Left4Dead'' series.
** Several characters have sang or played the Minecraft parody song "Revenge" by LetsPlay/CaptainSparklez and [=TryHardNinja=].
* SinkOrSwimFatherhood: Or, well, parenthood in general. After the Dragon supposedly woke up and disappeared, the Duckling announces that the server-members must adopt one of its egg children and [[EggSitting keep them alive]] until the Dragon returns, forcing ''everyone'' into parenthood with no prior notice. Some of them take to parenthood quite well (considering the circumstances), and others… not so much.
* TheSmurfettePrinciple: Jaiden is the only female guest from the Train, and used to be the only woman on the server. It later turns into TwoGirlsToATeam with the addition of Baghera, which is then further averted with the addition of Niki, Rivers, Mouse, Tina, Lenay, and Bagi.
* SpotTheImposter: When Philza spots Chayanne and Tallulah at the elections dinner party, he spots the differences between the real and the fake very quickly by noticing the fake Tallulah shook the maraca much more often than the real Tallulah would[[note]]The real Tallulah would only shake the maraca to get the guests to pay attention to her signs[[/note]], Chayanne hits Philza a lot more often than the real Chayanne would, and neither Tallulah or Chayanne have any cracks on their appearances. This allows Philza to recognize the eggs as fakes and he and Etoiles manage to kill the Binary Entity duo, stopping them from killing any other candidates after Gegg lost his last candidate life.
* TranslatorMicrobes: The Qlobal Translator mod functions as this; it is able to do voice recognition, and provide real-time translation into English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and other languages via subtitles.
* VisualPun: In the teaser, in spite of being told they cannot speak to each other, Spanish-speaking Quackity breaks down the wall placed between him and his English-speaking counterpart to talk to him. In other words, he's breaking down the language barrier.
* VulgarHumor: Virtually all but two people on the server are not family-friendly, and once [[TranslatorMicrobes the Qlobal Translator]] is implemented, it doesn't take long for a group of creators to test out the mod by repeating "semen" on end.
* WallsOfTyranny: At the start of the series, the guests are split into two groups and the Duckling orders that they are not allowed to cross the wall or press a BigRedButton on the wall. Since half of the server population at the time was Hispanic and many of the English-speakers are American, this immediately evokes jokes about UsefulNotes/DonaldTrump, and Vegetta immediately climbs up to press the button. This causes a large hole to be blown into a wall, setting the two groups into a trap, as the Duckling announces that the guests are now permanently trapped on the island.
* WeddingEpisode: On June 16th, there was an entire event dedicated to the wedding between Roier and Cellbit. Shockingly, aside from some minor hiccups like the wedding venue getting blown up by Quackity, the wedding itself went smoothly with the happy couple getting married and everyone having a great time… [[spoiler:except for Quackity, who ends up getting kidnapped by the Federation for the next couple of months.]]
