An AffectionateParody of {{Eastern RPG}}s, ''Bad JRPG: The Legends of Krys'' is a show created by WebVideo/{{Drawfee}}. Hosted by Nathan Yaffe, Jacob Andrews and -- [[SixthRanger eventually]] -- Jake Young, it follows them as they pitch ideas for the {{Troperiffic}}, [[ShowWithinAShow entirely fictional]] video game ''The Legends of Krys'', [[StylisticSuck the worst experience found in all of JRPG media.]]

Originating as a segment of ''Morning Drawfee'', it was later expanded into a full series. Unlike WebVideo/{{Drawga}} -- which had a similarly humble beginning -- there has been no serious attempt at a {{Defictionalization}}, meaning that as of this writing, the show stands on its own.

It can be viewed on Website/{{Youtube}} [[https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDUoOYLKP1C7ByUy8XdA48_JmGgJuYSPE here.]]

----
!!This series contains examples of:

* ActionGirl:
** Proporzha, a "punchwoman" who mines for ore by punching rocks (ala VideoGame/MineCraft) with [[MundaneUtility her stone glove.]]
** Also Gunthia, an absolute mountain of a woman. Though the BrawnHilda aspect is [[DownplayedTrope downplayed]] in that she mostly uses guns. Her muscles are simply a result of the extreme, constant recoil.
** Not to mention Riboflavia, a CuteButPsycho LittleMissBadass wielding a ridiculously oversized spoongun.
* AGodAmI: Skitter Bug eventually manages to obtain its true Power, becoming The Skitter King, the TrueFinalBoss of the game.
* TheAllegedCar: Krys's car, which he inherited from his grandfather Krisp.
* AmericanKirbyIsHardcore: [[ParodiedTrope Parodied]] when the artists draw the hypothetical, localized American cover art for the game, which dives headfirst into this trope.
* AndCallHimGeorge: Big Beefo is really a CuddleBug who [[IJustWantToBeLoved just wants to be loved]]. To bad hos armor is covered in SpikesOfVillainy...
* AnthropomorphicPersonification: The ''first'' enemies you face are the avatars of extinction. They are pretty easy to beat, and only worth 4 XP. After that, the enemies get progressively more mundane.
* ArtifactOfDoom: The Money Staff, which corrupts the wielder into an IdleRich CorruptCorporateExecutive. Naturally, [[PayToWin you have to pay to use it.]]
* ArtificialLimb: Aside from her ArmCannon, Gunthia has also replaced a foot with a (leaking) soup can and another foot with an -- also leaking -- sandwich. (Or perhaps she just stuck her leg in the sandwich. It's not entirely clear.)
* BeeBeeGun: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]] with the Beesmaster class. The "bees" are actually flies, [[IdiotHero but Krys can't tell the difference.]]
** You ''do'' eventually unlock an item containing actual bees... [[ArtisticLicenseBiology called a "Hornets Nest.]]
* BelligerentSexualTension: Krys has this with [[TheLancer his lancer]], the [[{{Tomboy}} tomboyish]] Proporzha.
* {{BFS}}: Krys's sword -- which he inherited from his father -- is noted to be far too big to actually be practical.
* BigBadWannabe: [=XshadoX420=] ''tries'' to be a MagnificentBastard and TheChessmaster, but he's far too weak to actually pose a threat to our heroes.
* BossInMookClothing: The Skitter Bugs. They are said to be the cockroaches of the video game world, small and impossible to kill.
* CainAndAbel: [[AerithAndBob Lucianosaurus and Krys]] -- the BigBad and TheHero, respectively -- are actually adopted-brothers-turned-rivals.
* {{Cephalothorax}}: "The Fuckers" are a [[NoSenseOfPersonalSpace rather perverse]] race of these. Oh, and they have raptor claws. [[PunnyName Their queen is called "The Mother Fucker."]]
* CoolSword: [[ParodiedTrope Parodied]] with Big Jeff the Welshman's trusty Garble-Barble, which is made from the toe of a dragon, and causes poison damage just from the sheer smell.
* CreatorCameo: A quite dark, InUniverse example. [[HauntedTechnology The game contains the actual, cursed souls of the developers who perished making it,]] and they will haunt the players both while playing it and then later in their sleep.
* TheDogWasTheMastermind: The TrueFinalBoss of the game turns out to be... the TeamPet Bunby, who previously just came across as a CreepyCute cynic with a DarkAndTroubledPast. The fight is completely skippable, however. Depending on the player's choices, Krys can [[CassandraTruth simply not believe Bunby]] and just let him be on his dark throne.
* DoomedHometown: Krys is motivated to fight for justice after his village is destroyed.
* FetishRetardant: [[InvokedTrope Invoked]] InUniverse with the Whalemyn, who are basically bikini-clad women with ''whale heads'' and -tails, with cat ear fins.
* FoeRomanceSubtext: [[InvokedTrope Invoked]] quite heavily between Big Beefo and Krys. The former kills people by hugging them, and the latter defeats the former with a KissOfDeath.
* GameBreakingBug: The supposed-to-be-DummiedOut Busted Sword has an unfortunately tendencies to cause an increasing amount of these the longer you keep it in your inventory, to the point of making the game unplayable. Worse, it's really hard to get rid of it, as it keeps copying itself.
* GenderRarityValue: Parodied. [[Videogame/TheLegendOfZeldaOcarinaOfTime A male Whalemyn is born every 100 years.]] However, male Whalemyn (also called Malemyn) aren't treated as a big deal and [[BullyMagnet just get bullied for being different]].
* TheGuardsMustBeCrazy: The guards seem to be quite incompetent, being unable to fight even birds.
* GunsAreUseless: Actually [[JustifiedTrope justified]] with Gunthia, who only fights with airsoft guns. (She also has an ArmCannon, but it [[AwesomeButImpractical only shoots when she punches people.]])
* HeelFaceTurn: Lucianosaurus has a HeelRealization after seeing what the Skitter Bug is planning, and teams up with Krys to take him out.
* HoldingOutForAHero: [[ZigZaggedTrope Zig-Zagged]]. The townsfolk can mostly take care of their own business, so Krys has to ''sabotage'' their work to make them dependent on him.
* InsistentTerminology: The pantsmith is just a normal blacksmith who refers to everything he sells as pants, including "full body pants", "pointy pants", "elemental pants", "readable pants" and "''drinkable'' pants." Of course, you pay for it with "round, shiny pants."
* JewishMother: Krys's mother, Krystina, is depicted as a nagging, overprotective stick-in-the-mud who doesn't like her son going on adventures and risking his life. Bonus points for actually being from a kind-of-Jewish FantasyCounterpartCulture.
* JokeCharacter: Most of Krys' character classes are this. For example, neither the Beesmaster nor the Philosophy Major class are actually useful for the quest while the Slizzard class turns Krys into an alcoholic SquishyWizard. (The alcohol might not make him invulnerable, but it ''does'' null the pain.)
** The Pie Thief, in the other hand, is actually a bit of a LethalJokeCharacter, as it gives Krys [[PieInTheFace an actual projectile weapon.]]
* KungFuJesus: UsefulNotes/{{Jesus}} is depicted as a muscular armored robot, summoned [[WesternAnimation/CaptainPlanetAndThePlaneteers when all the twelve apostles join together as one.]]
* MasterOfNone: Krys can join [[WhyDoYouKeepChangingJobs multiple classes]], but doesn't actually have time to get ''good'' at any of them. InstantExpert is [[AvertedTrope Averted]] ''hard'' here.
* MinionWithAnFInEvil: The Extinctions seem to be this, despite being designer like {{Eldritch Abomination}}s. The talk [[AffablyEvil in a very casual manner,]] and are too vain to fight our heroes unless they look their best.
* [[MistakenForDog Mistaken For Bear]]: Krys's "pet bear" -- which he names Puff-Puff -- is very obviously just a Japanese guy in a fursuit, who can't explain himself due to the language barrier. The only one who understands him is the {{Telepath}} TeamPet Bunby, and even he doesn't care enough to actually ''do'' anything about the situation.
* NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast: The artists [[LampshadeHanging lampshade]] that with a name like Lucianosaurus, you really can't ''not'' become a villain.
* NonMammalMammaries: The Harpies -- who otherwise look like pelicans with human legs -- have feathered brests, requiring them to wear sports bras.
* OneSteveLimit: [[AvertedTrope Averted]]. Jeff is just one of many Jeffs. ([[Podcast/FilmReroll A Shout Out, mayhaps?]])
* OurElvesAreDifferent: The Alfs [[note]]while intended as a different spelling, [[AccidentallyCorrectWriting the word "elf" actually originates from the Alfar]][[invoked]] of Myth/NorseMythology[[/note]] are depicted as stuck-up, pretentious {{Fantastic Racist}}s who all resemble [[Series/{{Alf}} a certain alien from 80's television]].
%%* PhantasySpelling: Krys himself, of course.
* RaisedByOrcs: Gunthia was raised by [[TalkingAnimal talking alligators]], which might be the closest thing the setting has to orcs.
* ReallyRoyaltyReveal: Loed Covington is revealed to be a prince masquerading as a butler. It ''would'' be shocking if he didn't flat-out tell Krys this the first time they met.
* ReedRichardsIsUseless: [[AvertedTrope Averted.]] The villagers are already using all the weapons and items found in the store, which is part of the reason why most of them don't actually ''need'' Krys's help.
* RobotBuddy: Real Bird TM is - [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial despite claiming otherwise]] - an artificially intelligent drone with a fake bird head and some feathers. In fairness, they ''are'' attempting to [[BecomeARealBoy become a real bird.]]
* SapientShip' Our protagonists' "airship" is really just a four-legged, lanky giant wearing a boat-shaped wooden harness, complete with (entirely cosmetic and pointless) oars, propellers and rudder.
* ScaledUp: Lucianosaurus's true form is that of a giant dinosaur. More specifically, [[MixAndMatchCritters a cross between a T-Rex and a Triceratops.]]
* TheScrappy: [[InvokedTrope Invoked]] InUniverse with Lord Covington, an AnnoyingVideoGameHelper the artists speculate is almost soley responsible for the game's negative reception.
* TheStoner: [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]] -- suprisingly enough -- with [=XshadoX420=], who just keeps drugs on his person [[CoolPeopleRebelAgainstAuthority to look cool.]]
* SummonMagic: PlayedWith. Krys ''claims'' to have this power, but really he's just calling for his dog Bahamutt and his friend Tym, [[ScoobyDooHoax who are disguised as supernatural creatures.]] However, later he actually gets to summon... UsefulNotes/{{Jesus}}, armed with [[KungFuJesus a bread sword and a fish hand canon.]]
* TotallyRadical: ''Everything'' about [=XshadoX420=], up to and including his name.
* WordSaladPhilosophy: Philosophy-Major!Krys basically just goes around sprouting this.
