The Kirlian Frequency is an Argentinian Web Series originally uploaded on Platform/YouTube and Platform/{{Vimeo}} in 2017. The show was moved to Creator/{{Netflix}} in 2019.

The action takes place in the town of Kirlian in the Buenos Aires province. The location of this town is unknown. Anyone who knows where it is already living there. If you get there, you better not go out at night and don't you dare tell anyone about it. Someone will hunt you down and make sure of it.

That someone is the mysterious radio show host, who broadcasts all night, every night to report on the rampant supernatural events that affect the citizens. Every night he offers the people of Kirlian a little solace, entertainment and protection from their life in this town [[AllMythsAreTrue where they get attacked by aliens, witches, ogres, vampires, mutant mosquitoes and eldritch abominations on a nightly basis]].

!!''The Kirlian Frequency'' contains examples of:
* AliensInCardiff: A large collection of horrors somewhere in Argentina near Buenos Aires.
* ApocalypticLog: [[spoiler:The show's advertisement mentions that the Kirlian Frequency stopped broadcasting in April 30th 1987 and the cassettes we listen to that provide every episode were restored 30 years later.]]
* ArtShift: The third episode has the Host celebrating Christmas in April and the art style of the show changes to children's drawings.
* BaitAndSwitch: The second episode has a woman encountering a group of teens that fulfill every point of vampires in the vein of ''Film/TheLostBoys'' and she decides to offer herself to them hoping they will turn her. [[spoiler:[[OurVampiresAreDifferent Turns out they were a kind of mutant were-mosquito instead]] and leave her alone after she does. Foreshadowed in a sense when they laugh off some other girl pulling a stake in them.]]
* BittersweetEnding: About the happiest that any of the endings get.
* CallBack: In the fifth episode the kid who learns about [[BrokenMasquerade the masquerade]] is the same one we see in episode three trying to fight a coven of witches.
* ChristmasInJuly: The Host decides to celebrate Christmas in April, [[spoiler:because we probably won't get to May. There is a comet that will come in two weeks and maybe wipe out life and everything else.]] As a result, he decides to start a policy that night of only receiving good news through his callers. [[spoiler:He doesn't get his wish.]]
* DarkIsNotEvil: The Host is decidedly creepy and appears to be some some sort of zombie, but he doesn't seem to bear any actual malice towards visitors to Kirlian. In episode two, he makes a point of wishing the caller well and hopes that she comes out of her experience intact.
* DemBones: The Host, who when seen from a certain angle reveals the shadow of a living talking humanoid skeleton.
* EldritchAbomination: [[spoiler: The host has a large cavern under the radio station where....something lives. A large tentacled entity with one large eye which is implied to be the source of at least some of the strange phenomenon in Kirlian by bringing stories it reads to life. The example we see is it manifesting a bunch of Creator/StephenKing stories during a night in April, ironically when the Host hoped that if he asked for people calling to give him only good news, he would get it.]]
* EldritchLocation: Kirlian. A tiny little town, with a lot of supernatural forces.
* GreyAndGrayMorality: Crossed over with BlackAndGrayMorality. This is mostly because being on the brighter side of the morality-spectrum tends to end very, ''very'' badly in Kirlian.
* KidHero: Four kids try to take on a coven of [[WickedWitch witches]]. [[ForcedTransformation It doesn't end well for the kids]].
* NiceDayDeadlyNight: It is mentioned repeatedly that the town of Kirlian is safe and "normal" (so to speak) during the day, and all of the supernatural abominations that want to kill you only come out after dark. As a result, the Host constantly reminds people to stay at home at night.
* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: A dog won't stop barking at an old man when he's left alone in his house, driving the poor guy mad. It's revealed near the end of the episode that [[spoiler:the dog was actually trying to warn him that his own family was planning to murder him. The old man gets killed anyways shortly after that and the dog's owners have him euthanized for his trouble.]]
* NumberOfTheBeast: Together with SixIsNine: the Kirlian Frequency airs on 96.6 FM.
* OpaqueLenses: The Host usually has his eyes obscured by these. [[spoiler:When not, his eyes are revealed to be [[RedEyesTakeWarning red pinpricks]].]]
* PoliceAreUseless: The Kirlian Police Department does not work at night, if you call the "emergency" number at night, it calls [[TheWatcher the Radio Station]].
* RevenantZombie: The Host's silhouette makes it clear that [[spoiler: he's somewhere between a RevenantZombie and [[DemBones a near-bare skeleton]]. The first episode also heavily implies that the Host is not actually the original inhabitant of his body, as he begins the episode warning people not to listen to the child-ghost who subsequently accuses him of having stolen his body]].
* ShoutOut: Various Creator/StephenKing stories are referenced in "The King of Christmas."
* SmallTownBigHell: The series combines this trope with TownWithADarkSecret and BuccaneerBroadcaster, since tells the story of a radio station which only works at night and relates all kind of obscure events that happens in this town, that could be monsters, aliens and other paranormal stuff, a kind of modern ''Series/TalesFromTheCrypt''.
* TheStoic: The Host rarely raises his voice and only has slight inflections in his voice to show emotion.
* TownWithADarkSecret: More like multiple dark secrets, actually.
* TwentyMinutesIntoThePast: The show's advertisement sets its events in TheEighties.
* WorldOfWeirdness: The town of Kirlian is loaded with a wide variety of weird things, from highly intelligent dogs to [[spoiler:mutant were-mosquitoes]] to werewolves to [[spoiler:an EldritchAbomination that reads Creator/StephenKing novels to fend off its immense loneliness and accidentally manifested every horror King created one night in April]] to [[spoiler:an undead (or worse) being that prefers to pass its nights being a radio DJ and trying (in some way) to help people.]]
