''Friday Night Funkin' HD'' is a ''VideoGame/FridayNightFunkin'' GameMod created by Cval, Kolsan, Rozebud, Smokey, Pip, Luc, and Shinseinaken, and released in 2021. The mod serves as a retelling of the base game (currently the first 5 weeks, along with two original weeks, one of which featuring a special guest) but in a hand-drawn art style and dialogue cutscenes, along with other significant additions.

The mod can be downloaded [[https://gamebanana.com/mods/166446 here]].
----
!!This mod provides examples of:

* AdaptationalAttractiveness:
** Downplayed for Girlfriend: her original design was just as attractive, but HD's redesign gives out a nice view of her SideBoob peeking out of her dress. Her week 5 Christmas outfit adds a heart-shaped CleavageWindow on top of that.
** Mommy Mearest now has a very toned physique, with her abs visible through her dress.
* AdaptationalBadass: Of a meta and story variety for [[HumanoidAbomination Monster]]. While still disturbing in canon, he's a GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere that doesn't really leave a lasting impression on [[FearlessFool Boyfriend and Girlfriend]] with songs that are relatively easy. Here, he's a full-on KnightOfCerebus, pushes Boyfriend past the DespairEventHorizon in his second appearance, and his [[LifeDrain gimmick]] will give him the advantage over Boyfriend for ''almost the entirety of their fight''.
* AdaptationalCurves:
** Inverted with Girlfriend; while still the game's MsFanservice, she appears to be slightly more chubby and smaller in her non-chibi form than her canon counterpart, and after finishing off with Mommy Mearest, Boyfriend affectionatedly calls Girlfriend a "[[BigBeautifulWoman fat bitch]]" while reinstating his love for her.
** Played straight with Mommy Mearest, who appears to be more fit than in the base game.
* AdaptationalHeroism: In the original Friday Night Funkin', both parents want to actively murder their daughter's boyfriend. Here, Daddy Dearest confesses in Week 5 he ''doesn't'' want Boyfriend to die, but is not opposed to it happening. In fact, he seems more concerned that Boyfriend might kill ''them''. Mommy Mearest on the other hand, is more invested in Boyfriend becoming one of her demons. They also reference Boyfriend having some kind of power involving his "entrancing voice" that has harmed and will continue to harm people without his knowing, and will be too late by the time he finds out. The implication is that this is at least part of the reason for their desire to kill him.
* AdaptationalGenderIdentity: Girlfriend is nonbinary and uses she/her and they/them pronouns. In the original game, she was cis and just used she/her pronouns.
* AdaptationalJerkass: Despite having no reason to go after Boyfriend besides being overprotective, Mommy Mearest was portrayed as no more evil than Daddy Dearest, and by all means, has good intentions for her daughter. However, Week 4 in ''HD'' shows that Mommy is a succubus who seduced and turned humans into demons who function as her henchmen, and blatantly makes passes at her daughter's partner (even making it clear that she'd get rid of Daddy Dearest for him) and ignores the visible hurt and distress that happens as a result.
* AdaptationalVillainy:
** In the base game, Pico is sent to kill Boyfriend, recognizes him as his former partner, and decides to just humiliate him in a rap battle. Here, he's fully bent on killing Boyfriend throughout the entirety of Week 3, only "playing with his food" throughout the first two songs.
** Mommy Mearest manages to be a lot more villainous here, being [[GreaterScopeVillain the one who corrupted Daddy Dearest]] and [[{{Squick}} lusting after her own daughter's boyfriend]], ''right in front of her no less.''
** The Monster manages to be more, well, [[ShapedLikeItself monstrous]] here, [[KickTheDog willing to taunt and traumatize the Boyfriend with images of his decapitated Girlfriend.]]
* AdaptationExpansion: And how!
** There are numerous largely comedic dialogue cutscenes before and after every battle, which help to develop all the characters.
** In "South", Boyfriend decides to learn the Spooky Dance from Skid and Pump, and does it throughout the whole song.
** One of the most notable examples so far is "Blammed", which adds a brand-new game mechanic in which Pico will try to occasionally shoot Boyfriend (the bullet being represented as a caution sign acting in the same way as a direction arrow), which Boyfriend must avoid.
** "High" and "M.I.L.F." take it even further. In "High", there are now incoming streetlights that Boyfriend must dodge or else he'll get balled [[OneHitKO instantly]], and in "M.I.L.F", Mommy Mearest attempts to zap Boyfriend throughout the whole song, which Boyfriend must also avoid. Boyfriend also dances like the Henchmen, which are referred to here as "imps".
** In "Winter Horrorland", the decoration on the Christmas tree that resembled Girlfriend's head is replaced with the actual Girlfriend's head, having been cut off by Monster. Monster also drains Boyfriend's health during his turns via usage of gas.
** The Week 5 update also adds an original level where Boyfriend serenades Girlfriend while on a date at the park. They even get new clothes for it.
** Another update adds a week where Boyfriend ends up in Green Hill Zone and faces Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog.
* AdaptationSpeciesChange:
** The henchmen in the original were originally artificial demons bred in jars, and are mentioned to be expendable. Here, they're Mommy Mearest's victims, former humans turned into demons using her demonic powers.
** Daddy Dearest too since rather than a pure-blood demon, he is his wife's first victim, and according to WordOfGod, more than one Daddy Dearest, meaning he is not the only one around.
** Monster is a human-turned-living husk of fat and bones instead of a demon.
* AllJustADream: The week against Sonic turns out to be this, as Boyfriend wakes up in bed with Girlfriend after the whole ordeal is over.
* AllLowercaseLetters: The Monster speaks entirely in lowercase to add to his creepiness factor.
* AnimatedShockComedy: Has an awful lot of CrossesTheLineTwice humor.
* AmazonianBeauty: Added to her curves, Mommy Mearest now has abs, which don't go unnoticed by Boyfriend.
* ArtsyBeret: Boyfriend wears one of these on the additional level, and can be seen wearing one on a billboard in the mall for week 5.
* AscendedExtra: Darnell, one of the three main characters of the ''VideoGame/{{Pico}}'' series, makes only a brief cameo as a background character in Week 5 in the base game, but here he has a semi-major role in Week 3 as Pico's partner-in-crime, holding the Girlfriend hostage.
* BadassBoast: Boyfriend does one before every battle.
* BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind: Boyfriend was apparently blacked out throughout his battle with Monster, likely making it this.
* BeenThereShapedHistory: Daddy Dearest claims to have learnt his rapping skills from [[Music/TupacShakur Tupac]] and [[Music/TheNotoriousBig Biggie]]... and [[BlackComedy subsequently killed them both]].
* BloodKnight:
** Boyfriend is perfectly willing to throw hands with Daddy Dearest, even giving a BadassBoast, until Daddy Dearest reveals that it's a singing battle that they're going to have.
** Pico, being the hitman he is, outright says "Murder fuckin' rocks!" in the cutscene before "Philly".
* BrokenPedestal: The events of Week 4 completely soiled Girlfriend's view of Mommy Mearest, having watched her talk degradingly about her as part of her attempts to seduce Boyfriend and steal his soul. [[AwLookTheyReallyDoLoveEachOther Despite this, she’s still overjoyed once Mommy Mearest gives approval to her relationship with Boyfriend.]]
* TheCameo: Several fan-made mod characters, most notably [[VideoGame/VSWhitty Whitty]], can be seen in the foreground of "Dad Battle". We also get a new batch of cameos for Week 5, including Whitty's girlfriend Carol, Pico, Quint, and Hatsune Miku. Also, just like in the base game, Monster is in the crowd planning his attack.
* CanonImmigrant: Nene, who originally appeared in the ''Pico'' series, which is also where Pico originated, is not present at all in the base game, but has a semi-major role in Week 3 here as Pico's partner-in-crime, holding the Girlfriend hostage.
* CleavageWindow: Girlfriend's Christmas outfit features this, as part of her HD redesign.
* ChasteHero: Sonic. He already [[CelibateHero wasn't interested in romantic relationships]] in the first place, but here he doesn't understand what Boyfriend means by "getting laid" (he thought it meant sleeping).
* ChubbyChaser: While refusing to be part of Mommy Mearest's collection, Boyfriend begins to explain as to why he loves Girlfriend so much, culminating in him loudly proclaiming he ''loves'' the big girls.
-->'''Boyfriend:''' I'm with your daughter because I love HER.\
'''Boyfriend:''' I love the way SHE smells, how HER voice sounds, how HER hair flows in the wind...\
'''Mommy Mearest:''' What are you saying?!\
'''Boyfriend:''' ''[[LargeHam I'M SAYING I LOVE FAT BITCHES!!]]'' Mainly the one I'm with, but the others are cool too!\
'''Girlfriend:''' eghhjgfhhfh hooohooooo?!
* ChildishToothGap: Pico has one in this mod, a reference to Mind Chamber's design where Pico has a single gap on his teeth.
* CombatPragmatist:
** Pico plays the first two songs fair until Nene kills herself: during "Blammed", he occasionally shoots Boyfriend with his gun, each bullet stealing three quarters of his life, forcing him to dodge all while singing.
** Mommy Mearest is ''far worse'' than Pico in this regard: during the last two songs, you have to '''dodge the street lights''' which [[OneHitKill instantly kill you]], and during "M.I.L.F.", you have to dodge her zaps which also serve as insta-kills, including ''eight consecutive ones'' '''''during the frenetic verse of the song'''''!
** But both pale in comparison to the Monster in Week 5, who is constantly draining your health via gas, meaning you have little room for error and turns what was once a complete breeze to play into something else entirely.
* ClusterFBomb: The news headline describing Week 4 is "'''STUPID FUCKING KID ON STUPID FUCKING CAR WITH STUPID FUCKING GIRLS'''".
* ContinuityNod:
** After Nene commits suicide, Darnell indicates that this is her 10th death. Nene had already died 9 times throughout the ''Pico'' series.
** In Week 5, Darnell actually counts off Nene's 11th death when she falls off the balcony in the cutscene for "Eggnog".
* DeathByAdaptation: The henchmen from Week 4 all get hit by a freeway sign during "M.I.L.F.", becoming bloody chunks all over the freeway. While the exact death wasn't something they could predict, the deaths themselves was something they all quickly realize in the preceding cutscene.[[note]]This is a reference to an unused background element in the base game (as of date of writing) where the Henchman would get killed by a signpost in the same manner, also intended to happen during M.I.L.F.[[/note]]
* DevelopersForesight: If you miss a Caution Sign note while at least having enough health to survive on the bar[[note]]Which means you must have more than 50% HP[[/note]], Pico will miss his shot, and if you look hard enough, you can actually notice [[HatDamage a bullet hole on Boyfriend's hat]], who will also begin to sweat nervously.
* DespairEventHorizon: During Week 5 Boyfriend goes through a ''rough'' one after [[spoiler:Monster suddenly appears and kills Girlfriend, using her severed head as a Christmas star. To hammer it in, his sprite shows him in visible shock the entire fight. Luckily it was a BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind so it doesn't stick.]]
* DistractedByTheSexy: Mommy Mearest playfully accuses Boyfriend of this in the cutscenes before "High" and "M.I.L.F.". In the end, however, Boyfriend pulls a ShutUpHannibal and makes it very clear to Mommy Mearest that his heart belongs to Girlfriend.
* DoubleTake: Girlfriend does this in Week 2, when she realizes that Skid and Pump aren't dolls after they answer her question.
-->'''Girlfriend:''' Do you two dolls have any idea where a bathroom may be?\
'''Skid and Pump:''' Upstairs, first door to the right!\
'''Girlfriend:''' Ah, okay. Thank you!\
''({{Beat}})''\
'''Girlfriend:''' WAIT, WHAT THE FUCK?!
* DrivenToSuicide: As with her original games, Nene's quite susceptible to this. In this case, she jumps off the building after realizing that Pico and Boyfriend were in a gay relationship. Pico is angered at Boyfriend for revealing this truth and causing Nene's death, stating that he knew that Nene was extremely homophobic.
-->'''Darnell:''' [[UnusuallyUninterestingSight Aaand]] [[TheyKilledKennyAgain that's 10.]]
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes:
** Pico is extremely upset when Nene commits suicide, deciding to stop messing around and actually resorting to shooting the Boyfriend.
** Part of the reason Mommy Mearest is after Boyfriend is because her "shnookums" was very upset after losing to him in Week 1.
* FamilyThemeNaming: Along with Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest, Girlfriend's surname is revealed to be "Gearest".
* FourFingeredHands: Averted, all characters now have 5 fingers on each hand.
* GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere: Aside from the Date Week, the mod was a pretty faithful reskin of the original game. Then suddenly, Boyfriend finds himself facing off against ''VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog''. Justified, as it was AllJustADream.
* GenreThrowback: To old-style Newgrounds, perhaps even moreso than the base game itself (which was already a very obvious one). While the base game definitely has a ton of VulgarHumor as with old Newgrounds, it has only a bit of actual CrossesTheLineTwice-style humor (the other style of humor that Newgrounds was most well-known for); this mod definitely stocks up on the latter quite a bit. The Sonic week is LighterAndSofter, though Sonic was a large part of the website's early years.[[invoked]]
* GoodCounterpart: Oddly enough, Sonic is this to Monster. They both show up in different dreams and make a lasting impact on Boyfriend, but in different ways. Monster is a full-on KnightOfCerebus who twists Boyfriend's perception and makes it look like he killed Girlfriend, pushing the rapper into a DespairEventHorizon. Sonic on the other hand aims to brighten Boyfriend's spirit and show him that [[BeYourself he doesn't need to aim to be someone he's not]] [[YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre in order to be seen as strong by others]].
* GoryDiscretionShot: If the imps getting wasted during M.I.L.F. is any indication, it's probably for the best that we don't see the extent of the damage if Boyfriend meets a [[NonstandardGameOver similar fate]].
* GratuitousSpanish: Skid and Pump, as a reference to their [[Creator/SrPelo voice actor]], at some point calling Girlfriend a "Señora".
* GuestFighter: VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog appears as an opponent in an original week, he’s even PromotedToPlayable in the bonus song, "Happy Time", where Omochao is the opponent.
* HatDamage: If you miss a caution sign in Week 3, with enough health at the very least. Instead of getting a GameOver, Pico misses and instead there's a bullet hole on Boyfriend's hat.
* HeHadAName: Boyfriend appears to be ultimately disgusted at Mommy Mearest letting her henchmen die at the end of her Week, invoking this trope's most traditional scenario.
-->'''Boyfriend:''' ALSO, you just let those imps die. They had lives, too!\
'''Mommy Mearest:''' Tch, those imps couldn't take the heat, so they got kicked outta the kitchen.\
'''Mommy Mearest:''' [[NotHelpingYourCase By that I mean their limbs are strewn along the road.]]
* HeroicBSOD: In week 5, [[spoiler:Boyfriend goes into one when he sees girlfriend's decapitated head on the Christmas tree. All he can manage after a moment is to ask Monster "Why, man?"]]
* HumanoidAbomination: Monster, even more so then in the base game. Here he inexplicably bleeds from his eyes and mouth, and has a strange, static-like effect to his jumpsuit.
* HypocriticalHumor: Mommy Mearest mocks Boyfriend for having a stupid name... before proudly stating her own, not to mention Girlfriend's name.
* InelegantBlubbering: Mommy claims that Daddy Dearest broke down sobbing after losing to Boyfriend in public.
* KaizoTrap: You have to dodge one more street lamp after successfully finishing M.I.L.F.. Decided to back away to take a sigh of relief after a notably difficult song? Better [[OneHitKill watch your head]]...
* LiteralMinded:
** In Week 1, when Daddy Dearest tells Boyfriend he'll have to go through him in order to date Girlfriend (as in, participate in a rap battle), Boyfriend takes this to mean he has to actually fight Daddy Dearest, which he [[BloodKnight has no problems with]].
** Sonic has shades of this as well. When Boyfriend says he raps to entertain and get laid, Sonic thinks the latter means sleeping.
* {{Manchild}}: 19-year-old Boyfriend still has fun visiting a MallSanta.
* MythologyGag: A lot for Sonic's week;
** In the second and third songs, Boyfriend's miss animation will have him trip and lose rings, much like Sonic whenever he takes damage with at least one ring in his games.
** Similarly, if Boyfriend loses in those two songs, instead of getting blueballed, he will face the camera, stretch out his arms and legs, and fall off the screen. Which is Sonic's death animation in the classic 2D games. Same thing happens to Sonic if you lose as him in "Happy Time".
** Cream, Knuckles, Amy, Tails, Big, Rouge and Shadow can be seen in the background of the first song, while Eggman mans a DJ table in place of Girlfriend.
** Several of Sonic's poses throughout the first song are taken from well-known renders of him, most notably his famous pose from the cover of ''Sonic Adventure''.
** Sonic's voice clips and soundfont are sampled from Drummond's take on the character from the ''Adventure'' games, though with the infamous "WOO!" clip by Jason Griffith (from ''VideoGame/SonicUnleashed'') for good measure.
** The three main songs are remixes of Green Hill Zone from ''VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog'', Sonic Boom from ''VideoGame/SonicCD'' and Super Sonic Racing from ''VideoGame/SonicR''. Sonic even goes Super for the final song...as does Boyfriend, amusingly.
* TheNameIsBondJamesBond: Boyfriend does this when introducing himself to Daddy Dearest:
-->"The name's .XML... ''BF'' .XML!"
* NamedByTheAdaptation:
** Boyfriend gets a surname through ".XML".
*** He introduces himself ''[[TheNameIsBondJamesBond James Bond]]''[[TheNameIsBondJamesBond -style]] to Daddy Dearest in Week 1 with this last name.
*** In the cutscene for "Blammed", Pico addresses Boyfriend as .XML.
*** Ethan refers to Boyfriend by his full name in the cutscene for "M.I.L.F.".
** The Henchmen who dance in the background during Week 4 each have their own names, being Bojangles, Bubbles, Alvin and Michael. They also each have different horns.
** Mommy Mearest calls Girlfriend "Gearest".
* NightmareFace: [[https://youtu.be/5HFyGU1m-0o?t=1476 Pico's face]] upon witnessing Nene's (tenth) suicide is... ''unsettling'', to put it lightly. An update has his in-game sprite have this face during Blammed.
* NonstandardGameOver:
** Unique to Pico's final song "Blammed" is a mechanic where Pico will try to shoot Boyfriend, which can be dodged by hitting the "caution" note. Failure to dodge the gunshot results in either taking a massive penalty best case scenario, to an instant GameOver, which can happen as soon as ''[[PressStartToGameOver the first note]]''.
** Now in Week 4, Mommy will actively try to shoot Boyfriend with lasers from her mic, like with Pico and his bullets except getting hit by a laser means instant death, [[OneHitKill regardless of how much health you have]]. Alternatively, missing the timing on dodging the street lights results in Boyfriend being thrown off the limo by one, which also [=OHKOs=] him. Complete with unique animations for both deaths, the former having Boyfriend [[ReducedToDust turned into ashes]] save for his mic, balls, and brain, and the latter having him get smacked hard by the street light.
* OffWithHisHead: In Week 5, [[spoiler: the hallucination caused by Monster has the girlfriend's decapitated head as the star of the Christmas tree. Her headless body is still in its usual spot and even still bops along to the music... before falling off and going motionless partway through the song.]]
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: In Winter Horrorland, Boyfriend is visibly distraught after [[spoiler:Girlfriend's supposed death at Monster's hands]]. He has none of his usual outgoing bravado or confidence, just a singular, vacant expression of shock and despair throughout the entire song.
* OriginalCharacter: In HD, a reporter named Ethan tells the news about Week 4's Events and is in the opening during Week 5, with the implication if him being out of the news-reporting job. His character isn't in canon and what's implied of his character (as of right now) is that he's a [[SirSwearsALot constant swearer]] and a [[DeadpanSnarker snarker]] [[CardCarryingJerkass who enjoys being (to quote from him) "A Hateful Motherfucker".]]
* OrWasItADream: The Monster here is subject to this, being only encountered by Boyfriend without anyone else present [[spoiler:save for a decapitated Girlfriend and [[FunnyBackgroundEvent one random individual]] during "Winter Horrorland"]] whenever Boyfriend falls into a coma. Upon closer inspection of the background during "Cocoa" and "Eggnog", however, he can be seen standing on the upper floor, just like in the original "Friday Night Funkin'", albeit he's likely to not be noticed due to being placed towards the edge of the screen. This shows that he is indeed real, and the reason Boyfriend seems to be the only one who ever sees him may be due to his ability to twist perception.
** {{Subverted|Trope}} in Sonic's week. After Boyfriend wakes up from his Sonic dream, he feels something under the covers He finds it to be a ring, maybe that was more than a dream...? Nope! It's just a cock ring.
* PaperThinDisguise: [[https://fridaynightfunking.fandom.com/wiki/File:Untitled200_20210729133001.png Monster's easy-to-miss background appearance]] during the first 2 songs of Week 5 show him wearing a trench coat and fedora that does little-to-nothing to hide his lemon-shaped head.
* PunnyName: Boyfriend's surname in this continuity is .XML. [[DontExplainTheJoke You know, as in the file format in which his data is stored]].
* RunningGag: Girlfriend's weight is brought up a number of times. Daddy Dearest mentions that [[BigEater her second dinner]] is getting cold, Pico keeps giving her YouAreFat insults, and Boyfriend outright admits to being a ChubbyChaser during Week 4.
* SanitySlippage: Implied to be the reason why [[spoiler:Monster passively drains Boyfriend's health in their BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind as well as the usage of gas]].
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: At the start of "Blammed", Nene jumps to her death upon hearing about Pico and the Boyfriend's past relationship. [[spoiler:Darnell follows suit by silently scurrying away from the scene as the Girlfriend seals Pico away at the end of the song.]]
* ShowsDamage: If his health happens to be lower than 50%, Boyfriend's sprite changes to a "stressed" model where he holds his microphone closer to his chest while sweating. His animation also becomes slower when his health is being chipped away.
* ShoutOut: The Platform/NintendoGamecube makes a cameo at the end of Sonic's week, alongside a copy of ''[[VideoGame/SonicAdventure Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut]]''.
* ShutUpHannibal: After hearing Mommy Mearest tease him and diss Girlfriend for the majority of Week 4, Boyfriend ultimately tells Mommy Mearest to shut up, saying that although he does find her pretty, he only loves Girlfriend and is very offended about how Mommy Mearest has been treating the both of them.
* StatuesqueStunner: Mommy Mearest is not only still quite tall, but she also has some very prominent abs to show off.
* StealthPun: Before "Blammed", Boyfriend mentions that he and Pico used to date, causing Nene to FreakOut and [[DrivenToSuicide jump to her death]]. In other words, she was homophobic in the most literal way possible ([[DontExplainTheJoke being outright terrified of gay people rather than hating them]]).
* SuccubiAndIncubi: Mommy Mearest is a succubus in this continuity.
* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: Singing when stood up on limos at full speed implies the risk to be crushed by a streetlight.
* TerribleTrio: Pico, Darnell, and Nene, who respond to the hit Daddy Dearest put out on Boyfriend.
* TooDumbToLive: In "Eggnog"'s cutscene, Nene decides that falling off the balcony would be better than using an escalator. It goes as well as you'd expect.
-->'''Darnell:''' 11. Shit can neva go right with you white [[NWordPrivileges niggas]] around.
* TotallyRadical: Boyfriend talks in this way.
* TheyKilledKennyAgain: When Nene kills herself, Darnell responds with "Aaand that's 10", implying that Nene "kills" herself on the regular and [[UnexplainedRecovery somehow comes back]]. Confirmed during Week 5 which she comes back from the dead after her suicide in Week 3 to enjoy the holidays only for her to accidentally skip using escalators and unintentionally jump off and fall to death with [[StunnedSilence Pico being shocked into silence]] and [[UnusuallyUninterestingSight Darnell noting it's Death #11 for her.]]
* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: Darnell doesn't seem too shocked at Nene [[DrivenToSuicide commuting suicide]], other than noting [[TheyKilledKennyAgain that's her 10th death]]. Pico, [[RageBreakingPoint on]] [[NightmareFace the other hand…]]
* TheVamp: While Mommy Mearest was always canonically considered a "[[StacysMom M.I.L.F.]]"[[note]]Mother I'd Like [[LastSecondWordSwap to...]] [[{{Pun}} Funk]][[/note]], she clearly acts like a [[SuccubiAndIncubi succubus]] when she uses her charms to make Boyfriend her new imp.
* VictorySex: Not shown on-screen, but it was stated that Boyfriend and Girlfriend had sex at the back of an IHOP immediately after Week 5. Not that it helped Boyfriend get over the events of said Week.
* VillainessesWantHeroes: While at first Mommy Mearest was just seducing Boyfriend to take his soul, after hearing her daughter’s passionate speech on why she loves him so much, [[CrushBlush her entire face reddens]] and her [[WingDingEyes pupils turn into hearts]]. She still wants his soul, but now so she can have him all for herself and make him do whatever she wants. During MILF, her left hand is higher on her chest, likely feeling her own heartbeat. This is absolutely jarring given the fact that she’s [[UnholyMatrimony married]].
* VillainousBreakdown: A couple examples; Daddy Dearest grows increasingly frustrated as Boyfriend beats him, and Pico goes absolutely feral after Nene kills herself.
* WakeUpCallBoss: People who are unfamiliar with [[VideoGame/FridayNightFunkin the original material]] will struggle with "Dad Battle", "Spookeez" or "South". For veterans, it will be "Blammed" or "M.I.L.F.", the former because you have to dodge Pico's bullets and the latter because Mommy Mearest's rays ''and'' the streetlights have to be dodged.
* WasOnceAMan: A couple of examples have happened where humans have turned into demons.
** Daddy Dearest and the Henchmen were victims of Mommy Mearest and were transformed into demons using her powers.
** Monster also used to be a human until he made a pact with a demon for more power. Let's just say the fusion has GoneHorriblyWrong.
* WhamLine: [[InUniverse In-Universe]], Boyfriend offhandedly revealing that he and Pico used to date in the pre-Blammed cutscene is treated as such by Girlfriend, who reacts with a FlatWhat, and Nene, who reacts by [[DrivenToSuicide jumping off the building]]. [[LampshadeHanging The background music even stops after Boyfriend says it]].
-->'''Boyfriend:''' Tch, he hasn't changed a bit since we stopped dating.\
'''Girlfriend:''' Since you what?
* WhiteGangbangers: Pico is portrayed as growing up into one here, something Girlfriend calls him out on when he refuses to uphold his deal.
-->"This is so annoying! Why are white people like this!?"
* YourSoulIsMine:
** [[spoiler:What implied to befall Pico at the end of "Blammed" by Girlfriend. As she declared him to be "a property of the Dearest family", Pico appears to be put in a chokehold as he fades away.]]
** Mommy Mearest tries to [[DistractedByTheSexy seduce Boyfriend]] so she can take his.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: Considering how much taller Sonic is than Boyfriend, it's kind of amusing to remember that he's actually four years ''younger'' (Sonic is canonically (and eternally) 15 in the games, Boyfriend is 19).
