-->''I Occasionally Sunk.''

''[[https://gamejolt.com/games/sunky-mpeg/78243 Sunky.MPEG]]'' is a LighterAndSofter AffectionateParody of ''VideoGame/SonicExe'' created by [=LooneyDude=], and focuses on Sunky.MPEG dancing with his friends.

A sequel exists, known as ''[[https://gamejolt.com/games/silly-tiff/78244 Silly.TIFF]]'', which is a LighterAndSofter AffectionateParody of ''Sally.exe''. A second sequel was also released, known simply as ''Sunky: The Game'' (released in three separate parts) which parodies classic Sonic the Hedgehog instead of creepypastas. ''Sunky: The Game 2'', which consists of the first level of ''VideoGame/SuperMarioBros2'' with Sunky as the only playable character, also exists as an [[AprilFoolsDay April's Fools]].

[=LooneyDude=] made a Sunky webcomic in 2016. It was uploaded on his twitter and ran for 50 issues. Sunky also appears in the ''VideoGame/FridayNightFunkin'' mod ''VideoGame/VsSonicExe'' as an OptionalBoss.
----
!!Tropes present in both versions of Sunky
* AnimationBump: When compared to ''VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog1'' and ''VideoGame/SonicExe'', the animation and artwork is drastically better. However, that makes sense in Sonic.exe's case, as it was meant to take the form of a 16-bit ROM Hack of Sonic 1.
* AdaptationalNameChange: {{Exaggerated|Trope}}. Nearly every character has their names twisted into something sillier. For example, Sonic is ''Sunky'', Tails is ''Tlels'', and Knuckles is ''Knicknacks''.
* AllThereInTheManual: The fact that Sunky's friends and Sonic's are not named the same is only hinted at but never mentioned in the games, just in the webcomics and the [[https://www.deviantart.com/superlooneydude/journal/The-Sunky-MPEG-Story-595495491 written version of Sunky.MPEG]] "that time forgot".
* DullSurprise: Sunky's (and Sunky.mpeg's) trademark expression is a simple dull-faced stare, that he only changes when he sees Silly about to be crushed.
* FunetikAksent: Presumably, this is what causes text like "Gottsa go fest" to pop up.
* GoodIsDumb: Sunky has trouble with spelling simple words, but is still completely friendly.
* OddNameOut: Robotnik, by virtue of being the same as his original counterpart rather than an absurd distortion.
* OhCrap:
** Sunky.mpeg realizes Silly is about to get squished by the shrinking level in SILLY.TIFF, gaining a sweatdrop and quickly digging around for the device to save Silly.
** In ''Sunky: The Game'' Part 3, Robotnik soon realizes that [[spoiler:Super Sunky's invincibility turned his supposedly climactic battle into a CutsceneBoss.]]
%%* StylisticSuck: Along with AnimationBump, it also has elements of this.

!!Tropes present in the sillypasta
* BaitAndSwitch: In the equivalent of Sally's stage in SILLY.TIFF, Silly is in the same burning hellscape Sally was, with the walls and celling slowly closing in on her as dramatic music plays... cue Sunky popping up in the foreground, sees Silly is about to be crushed, and pulling back the walls and ceiling to save her.
* DarkIsNotEvil: Unlike his non-StylisticSuck [[VideoGame/SonicExe counterpart]], MPEG just wants to dance with his pals, and in the sequel, have breakfast with them. At one point he even shows genuine concern for Silly in SILLY.TIFF, the complete opposite to his [[VideoGame/SonicExe counterpart]].
* RedEyesTakeWarning: Inverted. Sunky.MPEG is genuinely a NiceGuy.
* LightmareFuel: An omnipresent red-eyed entity wearing the guise of a popular video game character... that just wants to feed and throw a nice party for his friends.
* NonIndicativeName: The split-second change of the title screen refers to Sunky.MPEG as "Sunky The Evil". The game itself shows that Sunky is anything ''but'' evil, being a good guy that just wants to have a nice time with his friends.
* ShoutOut:
** In ''Sunky.MPEG'', going left as Knicknacks makes [[Webcomic/SweetBroAndHellaJeff Hella Jeff]] appear.
** In ''Silly.TIFF'', going left as Cream (in both the regular and Sunky stages) makes Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff appear.
** Selecting one of the characters in the first game causes [=SpongeBob=]'s laugh to play, instead of the Kefka laugh from the original.
** The ending picture of Silly.TIFF is a picture of the pope with [[WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy Kevin's]] head pasted on.
%%** The song that appears during the Sunky half of Knuckle's portion is [=WebVideo/Sequelitis Arin's=] interpretation of a stock song.
%% not sure where the interpretation came from nor the stock song's name. i know markiplier played the game and mentioned it, but, yeah

!!Tropes present in "classic" Sunky games
* TheEndOrIsIt: Subverted at the end of ''Sunky: The Game''. The credits end with a big splash card reading "Sunky The Game: The End", which gets a question mark added after a few seconds... and then knocked off by a shooting star.
* MondegreenGag: Level the Green One has misheard lyrics of "You Can Do Anything", the Japanese and European theme song of ''VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehogCD'', shown at the bottom.
-->Never play ''VideoGame/SonicBoom''!
